- scoobster, on 06/10/2009, -2/+27I can't be the only waiting on a game where all you do is make things pretty with other pretty things. The closest we've been able to come is in My Little Pony: Pinkie Pie's Party and Barbie Fashion Show, but I want a game where your goal is just to hug everything as fast and as efficiently as possible. Starting off with hugs, moving on to kisses, then full-body makeovers, then marriage, and eventually kids. With the end goal of everything being happy.
- Schmich, on 06/10/2009, -0/+25Alternative title: "E3 games that won't be available in Germany".
- CityandColourrr, on 06/10/2009, -2/+19They should finally stop being lame and release Thrill Kill on PSN.
- yocouchdigga, on 06/10/2009, -3/+16I can't be the only one waiting on a game where all you do is ***** things with other things. The closest we've been able to come is in Leisure Suit Larry, but I want a game where your goal is just to ***** everything as fast and as efficiently as possible. Starting off with fingers, moving on to tongues, then dildos, then automated sex-toys and eventually pen0rs. With the end goal of everything being *****.
- SpiritOfRock, on 06/10/2009, -2/+15I can't be the only one waiting on a game where all you do is kill things with other things. The closest we've been able to come is in Dead Rising and GTA, but I want a game where your goal is just to kill everything as fast and as efficiently as possible. Starting off with knives, moving on to guns, then military-grade weapons, then bombs, and eventually nukes. With the end goal of everything dying.
- ichbinladen, on 06/11/2009, -0/+11I'd prefer games not be rated in terms of "violence", but rather "fun."
- Fhwqhgads, on 06/10/2009, -1/+11That would be the best game ever.
- Llanowar, on 06/11/2009, -1/+9I'm pretty sure there are some japanese games like that.
- decker12, on 06/10/2009, -1/+9The God of War 3 video doesn't take you to the actual video.. and the Uncharted 2 gameplay footage mainly shows the main character spinning in a circle on a roof. WTF?
- Mpwns, on 06/11/2009, -0/+5i want a game were you make everything pretty, then ***** everything, then kill everything.
- EvanGH, on 06/11/2009, -0/+5This is one of the most utterly confused, and confusing articles I've ever read. It begins with lines like "Like God of War 3, Left 4 Dead 2 is a game about clearing enemies on a chessboard in order to advance." and "Violence is, as it always has been, the backbone of the videogame industry." and ends with an anecdote about the author having a gun pointed at him in a convenience store when he was 23, which somehow makes a point about what violence means in games...which really has nothing to do with the games at E3.
The closer seals it, encouraging readers to comment in the comments section below...a space a mere thirty pixels away. Riveting stuff, IGN. Glad to see you're not editing anything you publish. - Ferago, on 06/11/2009, -0/+5Ya, pretty ***** article really.
- XeroKool, on 06/11/2009, -0/+5God of War 3 hands down.

After the 1 minute mark all bets are off. The violence is insane. - failedsubmissio, on 06/10/2009, -9/+12Looking forward for Left 4 Dead 2....

http://i41.tinypic.com/5fn47a.gif - Hobbes24, on 06/11/2009, -0/+3hell yea *****
- SoulGrub, on 06/11/2009, -0/+3Carmageddon - As I recall, one way to complete a map is to run over every single one of the hundreds of pedestrians on the map.
- SoulGrub, on 06/11/2009, -0/+3...mature complexities...? I'm pretty sure that was satirical.
- JudgeMonkey, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2I have seen the frame, a lot, of kratos holding helios by the head, but I didn't go out and actively look for the video until your post just now. Damn, that is some visceral crap.
I love it. - madk, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2This list is clearly missing the new Alien vs. Predator from Sega. This was clearly the most violent game I saw at E3. Hell it's one of the most violent games I've seen in a long long time.
- Topher06, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2Violence, like sex, is something that 99% of us look for in movies and games while 1% feels the need to speak out against it before going back to knitting sweaters.
- Velnich, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2Dugg for the final thoughts.
- Bartboy919, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2I know prototype is out already, but come on, it was shown on the show floor.
- Shazbuckle, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2There was a game on the PS2 a while ago called State of Emergency. Basically all you did was go around malls shooting people.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVc9y-V1t9U&fea ... - moarcaek, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2Where is Prototype...
- bunk3rk1ng, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2I thought it was pretty awesome actually.
- Ayabrea2, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Wii sports resort lol....where did that come from lol...alot of games that are violent arent up there but wii sport resort was just funny
- Sprung, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1You should play the demo. The fully immersive environments and depth of character development are quite breathtaking.
- JustinHopewell, on 06/14/2009, -0/+1That game was so, so bad. I returned it the day after I rented it.
- mpn401, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1You couldn't beat a modernized Thrill Kill for the 360 or PS3 (that is of course unless they go all SNES Mortal Kombat on it.)
- Nateon, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Seriosly? No Dragon Age Origins? That was the goriest game I saw this year. *****, the npcs are still covered in blood when the talk to you after a battle.
- ericrous, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Greek mythology was pretty brutal. No getting around some pretty gory violence when it's based on a mythology where the God's routinely had to think up ever more brutal ways to torture immortals. Even Jews and Christians came up with some pretty brutal violence and torture in their mythology (still waiting for an Exodus videogame where I get to play the Angel of Death).
- catvllvs, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1And probably Australia :[
- Gndoab, on 06/11/2009, -1/+2now if only they could make a list of "E3's sexiest games"....
- jggube, on 06/11/2009, -1/+2It's hilarious how a Wii game can make a list like this!
- TheTjalian, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Where's Gladiator AD for Wii? That game looks super violent.
- exscind, on 06/11/2009, -1/+2The Katamari games are kind of like this.
- robbiedo, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Personally, I would like to see an modernized version of "Night Trap" with new footage featuring a zombie Dana Plato.
- MrBogard, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1To each their own.. I love some gore but I don't need my games turning into Saw-like murder-porn either.
- mrdeadhead, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1i'd say there's a little more to the backbone of the gaming industry than just violence
- sevenalive, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Wii Sports violent, COME ON!!!!
- Ferago, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Meh, Soldier of Fortune 2 is still the most violent game of all time.
- Coffeedemon, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1They need a new Carmageddon or at least release the originals on XBLA and PSN.
- graeh, on 06/25/2009, -0/+1I think my brain bled a little reading that stilted, self-gratified, and tortured prose.
It made a front page post by Tycho on Penny Arcade seem bareable. - JustinHopewell, on 06/14/2009, -0/+1I think if you've played the first two God of War games, you're pretty used to extreme violence.
Edit: Just watched the video and I think its hilarious that he holds the head up to the camera. Its so over the top, you can't really take it seriously. - Kewickviper, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1Dugg down for Wii sports resort.
- JustinHopewell, on 06/14/2009, -0/+1I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt the whole article was unfocused and confused. He missed a lot of games, also, most namely Prototype, which has been mentioned above a few times. I've almost finished it, and it's hands-down one of the most violent games I've ever played.
- OLTP, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1What, no Dexter for the iPhone? You get to use your phone as a weapon and kill people! What could be more fun than that? ... other than taping a construction-paper knife to your phone while you play!
