- Crashwithuhk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+57I wonder. Will it being banned from E3 give it more press then if they just let it go on display at E3?
- MadOgre, on 10/12/2007, -3/+36So it's just a skin for Myspace?
- codyc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32My thoughts exactly. They were probably happy to hear it.
- TheNik, on 10/12/2007, -19/+49Wait - Isn't E3 an 18-and-up conference?
***** Conservatives. - merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -5/+25I'm pretty sure they have a pretty long history of not letting porn games in. So, they've already established that there's a line. All this shows is that the line's a little more conservative than we might have otherwise guessed.
- dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -6/+25Yes, it is. And yes, "***** conservatives."
This is getting out of hand. Why is it okay to murder an innocent woman in a T-rated game, but not see her *****? - davidv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18I'm wondering why we are just hearing about this now, less then a week before e3, it's almost as if the company wanted the press to make a big deal out of it right before the big show...
- teamparadox, on 10/12/2007, -10/+27WTF is this, now a gaming convention is banning games? Who gives a rats ass what the content is, if its a game it should be shown. Let the public decide from there. Everyone keeps bowing to the religous right and if it continues we are all screwed.
American is going towards more censorship every single day and it makes me sick. - wai_xing_ren, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20Doesn't that make "Electronic Entertainment Expo" a misnomer?
- MrFisty, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Exactly. How is it that you're OK as long as you beat, shoot, explode, stab, stalk or hijack, but as soon as you make a pass at someone, they march you out the door?
- davidv, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17The official website
http://www.naughtyamericathegame.com/ - Silencer7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14jpdaka, everyone has to learn somewhere. For example, I learned from Sim Girl that all you have to do is remember a girl's birthday and keep giving her expensive gifts, and you'll get sex in under 100 days...
- Mexrocker, on 10/12/2007, -6/+18what is up with that? i mean its not a public event and theres an age requirement... something is seriously wrong here.
- Spybot, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16a slippery slope my friend. who says what is too much?
- vannoy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Actually the developer just didn't book a booth... Not really the same as being banned.
http://blog.wired.com/sex/index.blog?entry_id=1471773 - Opiate, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Nanny state coming to a conference near you. This is sad....
- OBKenobi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Why can't we have adult games if we have adult movies and adult entertainment? Adult games (or games for adults!) deserve a place in the world.
Sigh... America is going through some kind of Puritanical meltdown. Go smoke a joint and relax! - wai_xing_ren, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Eunuch Entertainment Expo?
- dsterry, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11The ESRB has an AO rating for just this purpose. Why can't showgoers see the rating and decide for themselves if they want to step into the booth? http://www.esrb.org/ratings/ratings_guide.jsp
- Osjpr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9You can have anything to do with bloodbaths, murdering, basically anything short of genocide, but you can't have something sexual that we all do to each other in our daily lives.
- iisamu, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12its an.. dare i say... MMOrgy
- interiot, on 10/12/2007, -6/+15It's also a private organization who wants to retain something of a good reputation. You might think this isn't the right place to cut things off, but there IS *some* cutoff that they should no longer attach their name to games (I don't know, maybe a game where you play Osama, and you're fighting against Bush, and you get points for doing lewd and/or groteque things to him... that would definitely count as reputation-damaging in my book).
- szelij, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9The E3 organisers in my opinion is just trying to show "credibility" by disassociating themselves from games that are adult-themed. This boggles my mind...if you can see a man shoot a whore in the face and then stomp all over her in E3 why can't you see sex?
It's double standards unfortunately, but then again i don't have much of a positive opinion of the aforementioned game either...i mean another thing to make young people coop themselves in their rooms? - Electrox3d, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9They also said the E3 Booth babes were getting too sexy so they're going to start making them wear more... we'll see when we get there..
- thidranki, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8what is Naughty America: Not the Game?
(us? :D ) - deadbaby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8They can show a game like GTA that includes endless violence and murder but a little virtual nudity is too much? The Puritans have been dead for 400 years. Grow up America.
- daeken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6They did decide. It was E3 that made the decision that they wouldn't present.
- darkten, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11Yeah...E3 is a trade show...for...adults. It is not open to the public.
*shakes head* - Dabellah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Negative press in these cases is usually referred to as good press =/
This game is sad though. Who the hell would degrade themselves to partake in sex online? Go date someone in reality bud.
99% of the chicks will be guys anyways. - teamparadox, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10interiot we are talking about sex here, not propaganda. Banning this game is in my eyes obscene. If people dont want to wake up and see the world is full of Sex fine, but dont make me or anyone else suffer because of your views.
Chances are I wouldnt give this game a second thought even if it was allowed to E3, but that doesnt mean these people should be denied a chance to make some money or show off their work(s) simply on the basis that it involves SEX.
If your a human above the age of 16 and dont understand Sex then chances are you ride the short bus. I dont mean to be offensive but honestly there is no better way to descibe what im saying because what im saying is the truth. Face the fact that Sex isnt some taboo thing that should be banished from our eyes. - darthrsg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7It really isn't a religious thing either. It is a lack of involvement from the public in general. Bitching on a message board is not the same as going to a town meeting. As for the folks that bitch/complain about violence in games or TV they are bitching on capitol hill and in town meetings with NO OPPOSITION. Our society is being silently overtaken by doing nothing.
We all could take a page from the Mexicans and stand up for a change. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Naughty America is a pretty big porn company. Lots of very nsfw content, if you know what I mean.
- Yuffie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Also, it's just gonna be a bunch of guys playing with a bunch of other guys :)
There will probably be 50 guys for every one girl. - chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Basically folks, this is censorship. Seriously, you have to be 18 and over to get into E3 anyway- so who cares? If you don't like the game, don't go to that vendors booth. It's as simple as that.
- pjh3000, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I'd never heard of it. Now because of the ban I have, and I want it. Way to go censors!
- TruthElixirX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Everyone seems to be "OMG! I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY WON'T LET IT IN!!!!!!!!"
But why has no one pointed out how weird this game is. I mean... I can understand internet dating sites, I can understand virtual chat rooms... but having your "avatars" having sex in a virtual world just seems... out there?
Maybe I'm just weird but an MMO based on sex screams "Creepy!" to me. - wai_xing_ren, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6#
NA:TG had requested a meeting space for the game at the show. Teats provided this email that they received from Linda Clinton at E3 in response:
"Thanks for your email. I actually spoke with a representative from Naughty America quite some time ago and after discussing their product offerings it was determined they do not qualify to participate as adult content is prohibited at E3Expo."
By "adult", they obviously mean games with sexual content since violent games with M ratings will be on the show floor.
As noted in our previous entry, E3 officials had previously noted that they would not be censoring content at the show. In previous years, games such as The Singles, Playboy: The Mansion and Leisure Suit Larry had all been shown at the show.

http://www.igda.org/sex/archives/2006/05/more_on_e3_cens.html - wai_xing_ren, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Low-res line art nudity, no less. NA:TG looks like Hot Coffee for Dofus.
- vertinox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6So why is sex in games bad and mass murder in games ok?
I personally don't believe either are bad for people, but why is one ok and the other not? - SIDSI, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Whoever runs E3 can set whatever rules they want. Where is the problem?
- diecastbeatdown, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6what really gets me is they allow alcohol. so something like this is not really that big of a deal...
P.S. - i've drank beer at a countless number of booths. w00t!! ;P - Odweaver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I don't see whats wrong about banning porn at an event such as this. Hell, what if they got a booth next to Nintendo, do you think nintendo would want a porn booth next to thier million dollar booth showing off the Wii? It would also probably screw the press coverage for it royaly due to tv stations not being able to film because of porn. This "Game" has a place, and that is at the Adult Entertainment Expo.
- diecastbeatdown, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6i've seen kids there with their parents. i can count the times.. 1.. 2.. about 4 kids i've seen that were probably about 10-13 or something with their dads. It is something they probably had to get cleared, and they were all Exhibitors so most likely they just couldn't get a babysitter that day or something - who knows.
- RaggTopp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Um........why hasn't anyone said anything as to the dated look of the game? I mean this looks like a joke. Not trying to piss in anyone cornflakes or anything, but are they planning on selling a subscription to this? Even if it's a one time fee, charging any more than $9.99 would be ridiculous. It looks a java game for christsakes!!!!! The graphics are out done by BANNER AD ANIMATIONS!!!
- olego, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Wait, what do you mean by "Not Safe For Work?"
*clicks*
*gets fired*
Noooo! - chad78, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5find out yourself - naughtyamerica.com (nsfw)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Yeah, what's wrong with just keeping this sort of game for those porn industry expos?
Video game companies right now have to disassociate themselves from pornography if they want to make it in America.
It costs too much to be the next "Hot Coffee" - jaffacake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3because one increases the population and the other decreases it.
- suMMx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4this is such *****, first they make the entry age 21 then they refuse to allow adult games. Someone please tell me how that makes sense. The game probably sucks but its more about the principle of the thing not the actual game
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5"...would you want a hairy fat guy walking around in a gimp outfit in the next booth over? "
This is exactly the kind of mentality people here are pissed off at. -
