- Spoonicus, on 06/04/2009, -21/+224I'm wagering my Digg account that project "Natal" is going to work no where near as well as demo'd in that video.
- Sheepsterbaby, on 06/05/2009, -3/+148The worst?
Nothing on HL2: Episode 3. - TheIndigoSky, on 06/05/2009, -5/+85A very good article, except for one thing... they described seeing the Beatles Rock Band game as being "the 70s again!"
Someone throw these guys a link to wikipedia or something... - unit001, on 06/04/2009, -6/+73I smell a flamewar. Keep your controllers in your pants.
- Suzuka09, on 06/05/2009, -18/+82Natal gets good and Sonys Wand gets the bad? Wow...
- EDmAN, on 06/04/2009, -28/+88This is a bunch of crap, Sony's motion control device certainly wasn't a minus. It wasn't Natal, but it worked great. Uncharted 2 looked better than anything on the 360. I wish all the PS3 haters would actually play Uncharted, Killzone 2, and Infamous before dismissing the PS3, it has some great games. The biggest thing MS has that I'm envious of is Fable 2 and Mass Effect.
I have Mass Effect for PC, but I prefer controllers because I like to sit back and relax when I play. They left out controller support for PC a really great game though. All and all it seems to me most of the games are cross platform and people should just be happy with the system they have, or if they're not buy the other console so you can love on all of them and stop fighting. I might just pick up a 360 this year for the new Halo games and Fable 2. - DonLinguine, on 06/05/2009, -3/+59Golden Sun DS should be on the Nintendo Good list.
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -7/+56How do you wager a Digg account?
- jacksons98, on 06/04/2009, -6/+45Sonys motion control is good, it's really what I was expecting from the Wii all along.
- mywhitenoise, on 06/04/2009, -14/+52The motion controller was extremely impressive. But it's going to be a gimmick, just like PSEye was/is, just like Wii, just like Natal will be.
The good thing about the PS motion controller is that it senses your controller, not your movements...which I think will be a flaw with Natal. I believe its going to be very hard to keep your actions focused, say goodbye to having company over when you want to play a game that detects your movements, better put the dog away, better not have an itch to scratch, better not sneeze, better keep the lighting sufficient. - vlmusicalsound, on 06/04/2009, -21/+53Uncharted 2 stole the show, in my opinion.
- rusty123jimi, on 06/05/2009, -16/+47First of all, Metal Gear Solid: Rising was announced for both Sony and 360. Second, "Natal" is just a slightly better version of what the PSeye already does, not only that, but it makes NO SENSE to me how "Natal" was considered good and the Sony Motion Controller wasn't. I agreed with this article except for those two things and I'd (Objectively) put the 360 at a B+ as well. I smell 360 fanboy in the article.
- divinediva, on 06/04/2009, -10/+40Sony remained impressive when they showcased a bit of the new Gran Turismo for PSP.
- Firespray1138, on 06/05/2009, -5/+35Please get Facebook and Twitter off my Xbox Live.
If anything, the Old Republic trailer was my favorite. - Briones07, on 06/05/2009, -2/+30Modnation racers looked badass!
- coffeerox, on 06/05/2009, -4/+30This article is complete crap. They OVER credited Microsoft but under credited Sony and Nintendo. They obviously showed their bias when they voted Sony controller bad, Wii Motion bad, Natal good. WTF? It makes no goddamn sense. Realistically, if you get past the fluff, each of them has applications that would be innovative to hardcore games.
Let's see, they skipped over Agent, Final Fantasy XIV, ModNation Racers, MAG, Ratchet & Clank Future A Crack in Time, Heavy Rain, and Gran Turismo 5. On the Nintendo side, they skipped over Dead Space Extraction, Golden Sun DS, RE: Darkside Chronicles. On Microsoft side, they PIMPED EVERYTHING, multi-platform games and all. They also listed things that weren't really bad and for some reason, they skipped over Instant on 1080p, Netflix Instant Queue and Last FM, aren't those supposed to be good things? I think they were trying to hide their inner fanboy and failed. - Juntistik, on 06/05/2009, -3/+27I'm going to feed the troll, my apologies:
"No idiotic 360 7 gig DVD or wimpy graphics hardware ruining Rockstar's next gen vision this time."
Being a "Game Engineer" You would think a person of your stature would know that the 360 graphics processor (ATI Xenos) is about the same if not better than the Playstation 3s NVIDIA/SCEI RSX 'Reality Synthesizer'.

- kinseyincanada, on 06/05/2009, -7/+30why are PC gamers such elitist cockbags?
- jupaneanu, on 06/04/2009, -10/+32What about FF XIV? It wasn't much, but the cinematic looked awesome and just the fact that they're making it...Woohoo!
- EoNhausen, on 06/05/2009, -5/+26except you know...it actually works?
- bigbadgoat, on 06/05/2009, -0/+21Game Developer here.
On a flat out horse race on which graphics card is better between the Xbox 360 and the PS3, the Xbox's card wins hands down. However, if you use the Cell in combination with the RSX to churn out your graphics, you can do a lot more with it. - Juntistik, on 06/05/2009, -2/+22Valve hates the ps3 architecture. Or Gabe Newell at least.
http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2007/10/valves-gabe- ... - thefox84, on 06/05/2009, -3/+21Why do I feel like Nintendo is falling behind. Not a Nintendo hater I owned the SNES, Gamecube, and DS... but just saying. Although they do deserve credit for starting the whole motion sensing revolution.
- Flynnz, on 06/05/2009, -3/+20well if early reports from people who have tested it are to be believed, it seems to work pretty damn good.
What I question more than the tech, is how or if they use it.
Always hear about the potential with these kinda products, but they almost never deliver (wii waggle, wii board, eye toy, 360 "regular" camera, etc). So I find it funny all these companies are on round 2 of these devices without ever truly delivering on other products that some of us were suckered into buying before. - EoNhausen, on 06/05/2009, -4/+20Remind me again when we started to actually listen to Gamepro? They're the worst gaming magazine for a reason.
- NathanCH, on 06/05/2009, -6/+22It's a great time to own all three consoles!
- RooC10, on 06/04/2009, -4/+20Maybe I have misinterpreted Valve, but I feel that they of all developers would be able to deny anything they don't want to do.
- slydingo, on 06/05/2009, -9/+23OK, what the *****. In my opinion, the Sony motion controller was one of the most impressive items at E3 '09. Sequels to games are great, sure. And yes, the device that Sony showed DOES share some similar qualities to the Wii's motion controller; But what the *****, when are we going to draw the line when it comes to dismissing something that has such potential, such as this new controller, on the account that it shares some qualities with the Nintendo Wii controller?
Nintendo didn't invent motion controllers, hell, Nintendo wasn't even the first to release a motion controller; they have been out for a very long time before the Nintendo Wii was released.
Honestly, even if the tech demo Sony presented wasn't 100% flawless; at least it was real. I'm so sick of people gawking over the Microsoft "Natal" device when all that was shown was a blatantly obvious pre-rendered vaporware advertisement.
Anyways, that's my two cents. - snobrder218, on 06/05/2009, -2/+16I must agree. They're making it seem like the technology was barely functional. They guys were only stuttering because they weren't public speakers and were nervous to be on stage with over 5,000 people watching them. The technology worked great, it even worked so well that they guy couldn't properly shoot the virtual gun because he was shaking.
I'm excited for this. This is what I wanted from the Wii, but I knew Wii would never put out games geared toward Hardcore gamers. Sure, they have Madworld and Red Steel, but compared to PS3/360/PC, that's not enough titles for me. I hope that developers make good use of this because this could be a really fun tool. - s4g4n, on 06/05/2009, -2/+16I like the first left 4 dead but this is a joke from valve. Keeps getting worser with worser l4d 2, another $50 to charge you for the source engine that still runs on a geforce 5200 with just more maps and black people.
- cyrix, on 06/05/2009, -1/+13*gets popcorn* I love E3 JUST for the fanboy flamewars.
- mauleriscool, on 06/05/2009, -3/+15yup, how can you play a shooter without a trigger on natal?
- timusca, on 06/05/2009, -2/+13I think you need to look up what "literally" means. There was even an episode of How I Met Your Mother about this.
- GameEngineer, on 06/05/2009, -2/+13Amazing trailer. One of the best ever.
The multiplayer beta kicks ass. - BugMeNot2, on 06/05/2009, -1/+12My guess is that they're going to do another box package.
Episode 3, Portal 2, and Counter-Strike 2 in one box. - beef623, on 06/05/2009, -6/+17I thought Sony's motion control blew Microsoft's out of the water. Out of all the video's I watched for both of them, Sony's looked fluid and smooth while Microsoft's looked pretty jerky. I'm sure both will go through revisions, so judging them now is pretty meaningless anyway. One advantage of having an actual device in your hand is that it would make multiplayer games more feasible.
I though Fable 2 was pretty disappointing too, it's maybe half as long as the first one and they killed the gameplay by trying to make it marketable to more casual gamers.
The new Halo games look pretty good, but they're really the only (exclusive) thing from Microsoft that impressed me. - Khast, on 06/05/2009, -1/+11...well, we do have some of the tech. But if Natal works like it did for the show... it will cost a HELL OF A LOT MORE than the Xbox360, PS3, and Wii combined..
- imronburgundy83, on 06/05/2009, -1/+11Considering your Digg account is free and no one wants to win the name "Spoonicus", your wager isn't worth much.
- norman619, on 06/05/2009, -2/+12That sux. I'd like a full blown epic game. These episodic releases suck.
- thefangedrabbit, on 06/05/2009, -2/+12A lot of the titles they have listed as "good" for the 360 are multiplatform titles. If they only included the exclusives it would have been worse than Nintendo's, or had the multiplatform titles been in Sony's conference it would have blown the other two out of the water completely.
- Lurial, on 06/05/2009, -2/+11not all of us are :(
- DeathRay2K, on 06/05/2009, -1/+10Actually from what I've read, the L4D team wanted to make a sequel, the proposed it to Gary Newell, he didn't really like the idea, but gave them the go-ahead anyways. It's the L4D team's fault that L4D2 came out right away. They didn't want to spend time making sure everything worked well when added to the original game, so they started with a blank slate.
- SACubeMonkey, on 06/05/2009, -0/+8The fact alone that they only listed two social networking applications as negative points for Microsoft was enough for me to realize it was a crap article. I find it hard to believe that everything microsoft brought the E3 was THAT good.
- bigbadgoat, on 06/05/2009, -0/+8Dead Space was developed for the PS3/Xbox 360 and the ported to PC, so I don't see how the game was dumbed down for consoles in any way. Standard hardware allows developers to make the games in such a way that people can play their games the way the developers intended!
- Console Developer - themastersb, on 06/05/2009, -0/+8"Left 4 Dead 2: Seriously, you could hear an audible gasp when the logo for Left 4 Dead 2 flashed across the screen on Microsoft's main stage. This one came completely out of nowhere, especially since gamers were already plenty satisfied with the first game's new modes and DLC content. Hello, New Orleans!"
Ummmm.... WTF? Someone needs some fact checking done here. Do they mean to say "Audible pissed off gasp"? Also, by "satisfied with the first game's new modes and DLC content" do they mean "expecting more DLC"? Also why did they say Download Content content? - ch28kid, on 06/05/2009, -1/+8Article from GamePro, that's something new for a change.
- Banda7, on 06/05/2009, -5/+12http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/989/989269p1.html
ill take that bet - Lurial, on 06/05/2009, -2/+9wait for blizzcon. PC's will have a turn then. =)
