Download Zelda Twilight Princess 3D models and have fun
thelastboss.com — An underground community ripped the 3D models of Twilight Princess's Wii characters and made funny pictures of Link kissing others in the game. Here's where you can download the 3D meshes and textures, although you'll have to rig them with a bone structure and animate them yourself. Check back for rigged 3D model downloads in the next 48 hours.

- DiggityDugged, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9ATTENTION:
i'm already getting complaints that the servers are getting hit hard (not thelastboss - the other forum download), so if the winrars aren't downloading, just be patient. there's pics to prove it's not a hoax, and i'll have more 3d mesh pics up later - LordofChaosIori, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19I want that Midna model... o_o
- retral, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1lol, she looks better when her lower half (the creepy midget looking half) is covered throughout the majority of the game..
- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Noob question.
I import them into 3D Studio Max 8, hit quick render and get a black screen.
I know this is easy/stupid, but what do I have to do to have it show up...
Also, here's a sendspace link if it goes down, all 3 downloads in 1 files:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/autih5
Thanks- DiggityDugged, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Yep, I had that problem too. You can right click the 3D model and go to properties to tweak what's renderable, but i don't think that's what the problem is. try bringing the corresponding textures out of the rar file for the model you chose, and applying them to the object using the right PC file paths. lemme know if that works...
- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I checked the properties and everything is render-able.
I don't get any errors about missing textures and the render is just blank, not even the model (no textures) is rendered.
Where do you suggest looking for the correct PC file paths? - DiggityDugged, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2did you just drag the .3ds file into max? if so, also get the textures for that file out of the winrar file, and put them on your desktop. then fix the textures. i didn't check to see if the models were already unwrapped though . . . i'll check. (updating the thelastboss post with pictures soon)
- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4yeah, I took everything out of the .rar file and into folders. I know this is just noobish thing. I saw all the renders, here are a few:

Meh. ***** you, pay for your software *****. - tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Try putting some lights in your scene, or check your settings for the default light.
- Mechel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14@Admirabumblebee
So as soon as you pay you'll suddenly know how to do everything? - Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thanks for the sendspace mirror
- airwalkery2k, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Ever hear of a trial version, Admiral?
I installed it just for these models. I'll admit I had to learn a lot real quick, but after looking a few things up, I got to see Midna in my favorite form on my compy. - ipodman715, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Torrent: http://www.demonoid.com/files/details/1111665/
- rocke86, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Nice rip, I was able to load it into the freeware Anim8or, mesh imported nicely
http://www.anim8or.com/
To get the textures to work you need to convert the tga to jpg, and load it in the diffuse attribute of the corresponding texture. Here is wolf link with only the main texture applied
http://img392.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wolfxm8.jpg
tga files load nicely in paint.net. Amazing textures to look at in 2D as well as 3D!- rocke86, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wolf link with full texture
http://img361.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wolftk7.jpg
Just wish I was skilled enough to rig bones in anim8or, - rocke86, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Also loads in google sketchup with full texture support! just disable edges and profiles. Perfect!
- rocke86, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wolf link with full texture
- bennyboy371, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This is cool, it really makes me feel like getting into 3D animation. It'll be interesting to see what kind of scenes people make with these.
- CompIsMyRx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Those models look like they were in Garry's Mod. I think this is the beginning for a CounterStrike Source mod with Links as Counterterrorists and Shadow beasts as Terrorists
- deltaandroid, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Twilight Princess fan game soon?
- Gsoto83, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Damn, I was hoping that they would be in .obj file format. Does anyone know a converter for objs or for maya.
- erkokite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Maya should probably be able to import 3DS. 3DS is pretty ubiquitous. If you really need a converter:
http://www.google.com/search?q=3ds2obj&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=com.ubuntu:en-US:official&client=firefox-a - zeroeffect, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Included in the Maya Bonus Tools is a .3DS importer. You can download the bonus tools, for whatever version of Maya you use, free on the Autodesk website.
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1Take it into Max, the latest version of Max can save in OBJ format.
- erkokite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Maya should probably be able to import 3DS. 3DS is pretty ubiquitous. If you really need a converter:
- deltaandroid, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Zelda Twilight Princess fan game soon?
- deltaandroid, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Sorry, Internet connection f'd up
- joey368, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Holy *funny sound here*! Looking at them makes the game much more better looking! But not funner. You can't make it any funner than it is now.
- joey368, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9hehe who needs a voice when you got lips?

- sailfin, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2All i can say is, I CANT WAIT FOR ZELDA HENTAI!
- tompgl, on 10/12/2007, -16/+3I just want to point out that porting meshes and textures out of commercial games is a copyright infringement.
- Protoss, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Um...this is Digg....so no one really cares for this 'copyright' you speak of.
- GravitySpec, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Thanks for the advise... but I don't think people are going to be making a commercial application with these ripped meshes and textures. Most likely people will just make amusing applications or something to make people laugh or gawk at pronz... You only infringe on copyright when try to turn a profit or try to cause loss of revenue for the original creator. I could only see this helping the franchise as more people will be drawn to play and experiment with the material which will make it more visible for all. It's even having the effect of getting people interested in learning how to animate the raw models. Now tell me, how does distribution of something that inspires people to learn something new a bad thing?
- tompgl, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I agree, the publisher might benefit from the promotion of the ported material. Nonetheless many people are obtaining parts of this commercial work without paying for it (hence a loss in revenue for the creator). You might argue that these people would never buy the game anyway - the same argument exists for music downloading and we all know what's happening with copyright infringers there (RIAA...).
I run a large game modding community and was faced with the same issue. Many people were submitting artwork containing work ported from other commercial games. We decided to respect the law and crack down on it. - BrutalGoerge, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Tom is absolutely right, we have contacted a few game developers about this, and they have confirmed that they don't want their content in their competitor's games.
Porting discourages uniqueness, while it can be educational, ported material shouldn't be released publicly. - sssnake, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Tom is right, the laws of copyright aren't there for nothing, they have a purpose. Just because you are in the safety of your own home doesn't mean you can go off taking copy-righted material and selling/distributing it like it is a wildfire.
- CAvenger, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3tom has 1, 2, 3... 3 digg accounts! Ah ah ah.
- eridius, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@CAvenger
I think you're right. The second and third accounts are brand new, haven't even dugg anything. They were created purely to comment. - GravitySpec, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1@CAvenger
Looks like you're right... Those two accounts only commented on this story, the rest is blank. Apparently he missed the point I raised about non-profit activities. What I mean is that if you wanted to mod a game (I have a friend that created a gundam mod for TA: Spring). Sure, the company can request a cease-and-desist ordering a small time modder to stop what they are doing... that's up to the company to pursue. People will do what they like to do, and people will always be around to get in other peoples way of doing what they want to do.
I say don't bring the hammer down if they are doing something small or free... but if they are trying to pass it off as their own game and sell it... then they should be smacked around for it. - SirBotchness, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Yea 3 accounts or more accurately people that know tom are commenting on the same issue. But that happening and you guys believing it would be a stretch. Believe it or not he's right, but thats where the problem comes up. People liking the idea of using content freely w/o consequence and then being told what they're doing is wrong doesn't seem to go over very well. People thought that when napster came around. oh hell yea free music, whats wrong with that? Now people are being sued for it. People thought it wasn't a problem ripping and sharing entire movies, what could be wrong with that. But you can watch a movie these days without seeing an ad about how downloading is still stealing. But go ahead, digg us down and disregard what we say. but when the GIAA is formed and people start getting sued, don't start bitching.
- tompgl, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I only have one account, these are my friends who agree with me. This is the first time i've commented because the rife, mainstream disregard for intellectual property advocated in this article is shocking to me. Honestly i don't care if i get any support or not, i have no vested interest in this topic.
- GravitySpec, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Apparently you do have a vested interest... and is it really that shocking? It's because companies have become more money-grubbing then ever.
Here is a little history lesson about interchangeability that used to exist but is slowly being starved out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryXDhXqR-SE
Corporations like Sony, Apple, Microsoft, etc... all want to lock everyone into their technology/format so that they can keep people where they want them, in their back pocket. The RIAA is a figurehead for a conglomerate of companies. When people by a product they don't want to be told what they can and can't do with it. If I buy car and then take it apart so I can see how it works that's my business, but even then that is starting to go away because now dealerships want to restrict that too. Now they make some parts that can only be serviced by the dealership which puts some mechanics out of business or starves them of sales.
Different analogy but the point is same. People are sick of it and they will continue to defy it until corporations grow up and create better options for the consumer.
But I digress, again you guys miss my point. You guys keep making it sound like they ripped the entire game and are now giving free copies of the game away for free. This is an action that has enabled a chance for creativity to occur. It's apparent that people wanted to do this, if Nintendo wanted, they could establish a means to allow such things to be possible and they would have a new way to profit from something they already produced. There are many angles that companies could use to make money and the consumer still wins... but they don't want to experiment because they can't see what the result would be and so they do not innovate, but instead maintain a stale predictable system that people who are brave enough to go against will continue to do so despite their efforts to keep them contained. - blaze4metal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Someone going to port these into Unreal Tournament anytime soon? God that would be awesome.
- spykemail, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Guys, he's not creating multiple accounts, he runs a popular website and has a lot of friends. I usually don't comment here for the same reason that I rarely comment on Slashdot, but I couldn't help but point out that you're jumping to conclusions.

I am on FP all the ***** time. Probably one of the best modding communities i know of.- MrKips, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1FP is a terrible community filled with 12 year olds who want to be /b/tards.
- DaveMode, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Ctrl+F NSF
dang, nothing yet... - TheNik, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Damn, Nintendo's gawnuh be sooo pisseeeddd. Ah, It's cool as ***** anyways.
- Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Loads great in Lightwave 3D. has some weird transparency on the textures, but once that's removed it looks awesome.
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s136/willohmsford/zelda_screenshot.jpg- Vitius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I tried it in cinema 4D and its the same, transparency on the textures. but once removed it looks fine.
- Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I understand what they did with the transparency now, they used an alpha channel in each of the images for clipmapping certain parts out, For Lightwave you just have to tell each texture to use the images as an alpha map.
- Nick22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just wished i had the will to actually learn how to do stuff with 3D. downloaded em anyways.
- peabody624, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I would hardly call the official garry's mod forums an "underground community".
- Beerduck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Oh the mountains of Zelda porn that this will bring forth =D
Nintendo's not gonna like it... - Nekomata, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0Copyrighted material will be copyrighted material, whether you like it or not. Same goes for the law and the two go hand-in-hand. They developed it and have the right to sanction the uses of what they created. And besides, I think they'd like to keep it from being used in kiddie porn.
- TheRealAirdoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If anyone having trouble dling this there's a much easier and more cleaned up dl on the last boss page it's near the bottom and im using blender too and it works fine except for I have to smooth everything by hand to make it it look right
- pentomino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Neat trick, but why hasn't anyone done this for Katamari Damacy yet? I want to turn some of those objects into Livejournal icons.
- daridave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I always wanted to get into 3D, just never did.
Now I want to again. I just don't know where to start... - whelzorn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Blender ( http://www.blender.org/ ) imports all of these models just fine, if anyone's looking for a free 3d modeling app to play with 'em in.
- P0W3RMAC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Really cool.
Now, has anyone ever did this for Wind Waker? - Linkxxxxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0None of the programs work for me. I can load the models in some, but the textures in none. What's wrong?
- jaymo850, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Hi im new to blender and this fourum. can any one tell me why the files wont open in my blender, if so can you tell me how to do it please!
- alirazaq, on 01/13/2008, -0/+0Alright you guys need to get some things straight, for one these are from the GAMECUBE version of twilight princess. Two you people are honestly the last to find out, My friend ripped these a week after the gamecube version came out.

- vehleek, on 03/25/2008, -0/+0I was wondering if anyone could help me with the program blender. Whenever I render the the images of the Zelda models they come out a lot more boxy than in the editing screen. I realize this may not be the best place to ask but if someone could clue me in on the cause of this issue I would greatly appreciate it.
- tatiana323, on 05/11/2008, -0/+0Can you give me a link to a midna model and a princes midna mode?
