How to promote stories to the homepage
Once a story is submitted by a user it is instantly posted in the digg area queue. This is a temporary holding place where stories wait to be promoted to the homepage. To help promote stories to the homepage, simply visit the digg area and digg stories you think are cool. Once a story has received enough diggs, it is instantly promoted. Should the story not receive enough diggs, or is reported, it eventually falls out of the digg area queue. Digg works because a large group of people actively promote good stories to the homepage. Since this site's content is user-driven, it is up to YOU to contribute. - SyxxtySyxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1these updates and roster files can usually befound at codejunkies.com or gamefaqs.com I love this idea of keeping 2k5 alive, but 2K games is working on anothre football game- with legends, but that's set for release sometime next year...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Now, I love every genre of games to an unhealthy degree... except sports games. I've never understood them. Why play a sports title when you could go out and do it for real? Could one of you, as a fan of sports titles, please explain this appeal?
However, that aside, I HATE EA WITH A PASSION. They destroyed my life's obsession, Westwood. Anything that sticks it to EA is good with me. - ultrashawn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Why play a sports title when you could go out and do it for real? There are alot of reasons. A. Your statement is false, you can't always "go out and do it for real" For example if I wanted to play hockey I would have to drive 2 hours to get to an arena. B. Not all people are athletic or can play the sport. I personally would perfer to go and play basketball or football, but some of my friends either aren't athletic or I have one friend who is handicapped and can't physically play, but still enjoys the sport, so we can all enjoy the sport by playing the video game of it. C. Playing the video game probably has the same appeal as watching the sport. - lollerskates, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Meh, all the Madden games are the same.
- ajb2015, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yeah seriously. screw EA.
- Th3Sourc3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Rockin. Nice find.
- brainspout, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice, I was already preparing myself to totally give up on football gaming as I refuse to support EA's Madden franchise any longer. THANK GOD EA hasn't bought out the hockey competition yet or I'd have NO sports games to play.
- dsforsaken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the forum is deserted.... u can tell sumone just used digg to get their site started with advertising.... but if the forum community was bigger then i would b mor eimpressed with the site.
- TheChance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is awesome. I loved 2k5 and I still do. It's great to hear how Madden is a bad game with no invprovements (again) and I heard that there are horrible online glitches that give away whatever play you choose. EA's response? Basically just "work around it." Hah. Monopolies are hilarious.
- jbauer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I smell cease and desist letter
- jbauer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I could see ESPN or EA having a problem with this.
- snoopspecial, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0MADDEN 2006 Rules!
- skammich, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I smell cease and desist letter"
maybe from the NFL or EA (somehow), but not from sega
who knows, it might sell a few more copies of NFL2k5 sitting on shelves in retail outlets everywhere.
Everyone (but EA) wins: people get an updated roster, Sega gets money, Retail gets money. - mrgone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, better update sooner than later.. I don't think this is going to last long with EA's legal vultures.
- pmcall221, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1how does crap like this get on the front page?
- GTAcrimelord, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Definitely worth a digg. I'm actually glad that EA purchased the rights to NCAA and NFL, because now it will make my sports games purchases easier since I will no longer buy any sports game with the EA logo.
- thorpus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I am a HUGE 2k5 fan. Madden sucks!
- spartan777, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ea sucks. i won't buy any sports games from them again.
- blockcipher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That website is so sweet, so many posts!
- jbauer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Why play a sports title when you could go out and do it for real? Could one of you, as a fan of sports titles, please explain this appeal?"
have you ever tried to get 20+ friends together to play a game of baseball or football? at any time of the day? - bxbanger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this is definitely something that needed to be done.
- CountZero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't suppose there's a version of this that will work with my X-Box (hey, I like the graphics, and I like the controller).
- blockcipher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I love the new madden. I can make some mad passes!
- kenhigginson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Screw EA... make them pay for all the BF2 bugs.
Besides, didn't EA work out a deal with the NFL that nobody but them can use official NFL team names/colors/rosters? Lame. - BOOFMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Awesome! Best football game since the Genesis!
- jordan1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Website is down!

OMG! We need to jump all over Take Two for securing the exclusive rights to MLB! It's ridiculous! I guess Take Two should be boycotted as well! Those bastards! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@jbauer
Yes, I have, at 3:30 in the morning, with the sprinkers going off. It was a blast. But I do see your point.
@ultrashawn
I think you're twisting my words around. I said if you can play it for real, and it seems you think I said always.
I realize it's not always possible, but a sport is supposed to be about physical strength and endurance... something let's face it, video games can't do. (Arm wrestling games excluded, of course) ;)
I'm certainly not athletic at all. I sit in a dark room and either code or play RPGs. I SUCK at sports. I am the exact opposite of athletic. But given the option, I would choose the actual sport anyday. Even if you can't get 20 people together, and you don't have a regulation field or ice ring, you can make due with what you have. Get a couple friends together and toss a ball around. I bet you'd have a blast.
Ultrashawn did bring up a good point, however: Spectators. That makes sense to me, and that shows me the appeal it has to some people.
I'm not trying to argue with you guys, I'm just trying to understand. Given the option to do either, why would you play the video game? You've shown me some valid points, and with the exception of a single "you're wrong" statement, you've kept it civil and altogether in a good discussionary form. :) - ultrashawn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Ultrashawn did bring up a good point, however: Spectators. Software, ya I wasn't trying to pick a fight. I'm glad you can take something away from my comment. So many times on other sites, such as slashdot when people don't agree you have 10 posts bashing each other. I'm glad digg useres can get along :D lol - Nealobus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Does anyone want to buy my copy of EA's latest sports abortion on eBay?

Take a look, you'll know what I say is true. - OswaldKenobi, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0All this silliness over video games.
- generalleoff, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0"Nice, I was already preparing myself to totally give up on football gaming as I refuse to support EA's Madden franchise any longer. THANK GOD EA hasn't bought out the hockey competition yet or I'd have NO sports games to play."
But Hockey is already a dead sport. Anyone that goes back to the NHL after all the ***** is just as bad as anyone that supports EA.
Baseball is getting just as bad with all the damn steroid crap... Soon all we will have left is Basketball and they like to beat up the fans.
Money killed professional sports and if there's ever any proof that capitalism is bad that's it :) - joseph, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Quit your crying.
