- BigMaraIppo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Good for an import? I definitely think so.
- seanspace6, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1well, if u understand japanese. i recommend if you get it when it comes to the states.
- Jolene, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Import? Nah, Ctrl Alt Chicken re-vamp? Hells yeah!
- ben.0081, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That is the most Japanese thing I have seen since Katamari Damacy, and that imported well.
- nymphetamine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22They could probably pull this kinda thing off here in the US if they got Emeril Lagasse to promote it. I can see it now: BAM! Cooking With Emeril
- SinnerChrono, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Yea, i agree with you. i could only imagain how they can work the "Bam" system :P
- kwazyJAS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12You could yell BAM!! into the Nintendo DS microphone
- DeusGear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22I could actually use this...
- ellenjoyce, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Isn't this game supposted to be coming to the US soon?(Like in Sept.) And also I think it might come to the Wii too.
- joseph93, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I can imagine the BAM feature on the Wii
- hcl40u, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thats the other DS cooking game, Cooking Mama or something similar.
- Scatropolis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I hope it has different recipes. I wouldn't really use 100 different Japanese recipes.
- romainechester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"And also I think it might come to the Wii too."
Hmm... I don't know... I'd need a TV in my kitchen... or the stove near the TV.
- buzzert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22Think: downloadable content! Use the DS's wifi to download new recipes! That would be great.
- Strongoloid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Agree completely. It would be awesome if you could submit recipies via a template (complete with pictures and page by page instructions) and then share and download recipies through the DS wifi.
Although, looking at a printed out recipe isn't much harder, but it's less fun.

- Langford, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13For several decades there has been talk about a computer in the kitchen, but it never really happened. Who knew a portable game system would be that computer?
- DisposableRob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15I have to give Nintendo a lot of credit. Where every other company is trying to create the ultimate multimedia device and advertise it as such (and charge $300-$500), they've done a great job of creating a relatively cheap and fun gaming system that just happens to have a ton of potential to be one of those devices.
- rcomegys, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6And it doesn't stop with cooking guides... they have full fledged dictionaries, including character recognition for looking up difficult kanji, and a myriad of other useful software for the DS. I can't wait to buy one when I get to Japan.
- elroy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@Rob:
yeah... i wish more of this would hit the US. in japan they have a japanese/english dictionary, and opera is due to come out in 2 weeks. i would like to see a commercial PDA cartridge with email... until then... i've got my G6 Lite on the way from hong kong! :-D :-D - Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Not a computer per say, but I've seen a fridge with an LCD TV in the door, so you can watch the cooking show while cooking.

- Squill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10You know what, if this came to the US i think I'd have to buy it.
- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14They could rename the DS "George Foremans Lean Mean Portable Gaming Machine".
"I think it's so good, I put my name on it!" [/cheesy slogan]- colonelpanic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6ROFLWaffles! With the magic floating hinge, and now, witha new DS bun warmer Lid!
- skifreak107, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I would absolutely buy that
- devindotcom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Yes! That's awesome. The DS is becoming a real power player.
- manatee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I can't wait to get my hands on one of them biatches!
http://www.dslitereview.com - bob_the_alien, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3and then at the end DS lite Pink, first time I have heard about a new color in the Lite.
- uzusan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Japan had Crystal White initially, then about 2 weeks later got Ice Blue and Enamel Navy, now on july 20th it will get Noble Pink.
America only has polar white at the moment.
Europe has Polar White and Smart Black (a european exclusive for the moment).

- NikonDork, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4NOA needs to team up with FoodTV and release a few of these bad boys in the US. Im down!
- mrgreen4242, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes, I want interactive Alton Brown. Have recipes/instructions on the top screen with clicable science and informational content on the bottom.
- DrunkenPirate34, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Very cool. I might buy a DS and this game (Application?) if it did infact come to the US.
- elroy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5dude, just get one anyway. $129 and the software is GREAT.
- ModernTenshi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Friend of mine thought of a cool feature: if part of the recipe requires you to do something for some amount of time (like stirring or something), you could literally tell the game to set a timer, then start it.
What the hell will they have the DS do next? - DeusGear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5With a timer feature your food could be made perfect!
- nappingcracker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1*ding!*

- nappingcracker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1*ding!*
- drake111, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6the innovation never ceases with nintendo
the psps release list for the next 6 months looks like garbage, watered down ps2 ports and no name games, the only worthwhile game, crisi core, was delayed to hell - neozion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why do I get the feeling that things like these will never get translated in english and so we will once again be deprived of this kind of great features (the non gaming ones). If I'm mistaken, and I really hope I am, I hope to be the first to find out about it.
- crashflow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8If they make an English version, I will buy it. there...NOA, do you hear me?
Put in Emeril, Ming Tsai, Alton Brown, Nigella Lawson, Giada De Laurentiis, Jamie Oliver, Mario Batali, Rachel Ray, Wolfgang Puck
heck put in a 30 minute timer for rachel ray recipes,
useless bits of food trivia for alton brown recipes,
a translator for Wolfgang Puck's english (kidding),
maybe an iron chef "inspired" minigame battle that uses wifi...recipe sharing thru wifi or blue tooth similar to "rival radar" or "bark mode"in DS games. - darkmule, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think as long as they leave in the japanese food, it would be worth the import.. or the ability to go to a.. food cooking website and import/download cooking instructions. via the wifi. Then you could put your own list of favorites on it.. its a pretty neat concept.
- Computer_Kid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So this is where they get the recipes for Ctrl+Alt+Chicken
- Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Itadakimasu!
- nappingcracker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1oishii!
- SamuraiPanda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Guys, there is a translation for it up at www.vgameforce.com
it says,
"DS: Lets make some yummy food! Please stir the mixture.
Old guy: OK. (In English)
Announcer: Would you like to cook with your DS? It has over 200 recipies, and you can even choose ingredients to find matching recipies.
Kids: Lets eat!
Announcer: For the DS, Talking DS Cooking Navigation."- SinnerChrono, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i the translation is
Scene - Dad and the two kids are sitting at the table, glaring at a calendar. There's a stretch of a few days where Mother has marked her upcoming trip in red. I assume she's already left, since she's not there. Father's stomach growls, and the kids turn to look at him.
(game) Cooking Instructor: Now, let's make tasty Carbonara Spaghetti!
(game) Cooking Instructor: Mix until it is thoroughly blended!
Dad: Okay
(game) Cooking Narrator: Right.
Commercial Narrator: Isn't this your first time cooking on the DS? With these easy recipes, you'll be no less than a master. Use the menu to grant your fond wishes. You're the chef!
Family: Itadakimasu!*
Commercial Narrator: Nintendo DS "Chat DS Cooking Navigator"
*In Japan, it's customary to say "itadakimasu" before eating, and to clap your hands together while you say it. Basically it means "I gratefully receive!" By the same token, when you're finished eating, you're supposed to say "Gochisosama *****", which means "Thank you for the meal", in essence.
- SinnerChrono, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i the translation is
- romainechester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anyone noticed that the meal that was prepared in the video looked more like an Italian recipe rather than Japanese. Sooo.... There really might be a huge chance that the game be imported to the US or other countries. Pasta anyone?
- Darkdata, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Heh it's funny. Nintendo does not even have to try for mass market appeal.
=) - wingnut21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I hope NOA reads Digg. I'd also love to have this in English.
Also think about shopping: You could have a recipie wish-list on the DS, and it'll generate a shopping list (with pics). Then you could shop with your DS and check off items (you could even do that literally with the stylus), or just have the DS email you the list for printout. Nintendo could also distribute recipie expansion packs online. Think of all the college-aged cooking newbies this would help! - tacojohn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I WANT THIS IN ENGLISH!
- asurroca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Food/cooking is a big enough industry, and DS games are cheap enough so that Nintendo could actually release a series of cooking titles in the US. Think about it: A cookbook is going to cost you like $30 anyway. Personally, I'd like one that focuses on easy stuff you can make with regular foods, conisdering that a lot of DS owners are college kids or geeks (e.g. myself).
The best feature has got to be the ability to search for recipies based on ingredients. That way you can cook something with thatever you've already got in the kitchen.
Props to Nintendo. - Witherbucket, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Someone in another forum brought up the idea of being able to use DS memory cards to download data from the Wii. If something like this could be done it wouldn't be bad, although a more cost effective idea would to just have some free space the game could allocate to a downloaded recipe from Nintendo Wi-Fi. There could be a directory to chose additional recipes and you'd be able to hold one or two new ones at a time, with accompanying pictures of course.
- Swampthing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Um... not too difficult recipe there in the example, but I agree that something like this would be great in the kitchen. I'd love to see it generate a shopping list that you could cross off as you purchase the items as well.
- HombreGris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This just comes to show how versatile the Nintendo DS really is, it is not only a gaming system. I'm waiting for an office set so I can view and edit files online, kind of a google office idea. Skype should release for the DS, I'd buy that.
