Most people don't. The only people who to me seem like that are gays. Those gays who speak obnoxiously flamboyant and talk deliberately with a lisp, those people seem dedicated to making sure that everyone and everything around them knows that they're gay.
And if somehow needing to know if the character you're playing likes to bone guys or girl makes the game better for you, maybe something is wrong with you and not with the developers. - woodychris, on 11/11/2009, -0/+2shutaru, get off of your computer now and go commit hari kari, NOW!!!!!

- duggtodeath, on 11/11/2009, -0/+1No. Next question.
- socivitus, on 11/11/2009, -0/+1I agree with the commenter mentioned in the article. I don't understand the need for mentioning sexual orientation unless it's prudent to the story itself. On the other hand, I don't think it should be hidden from the story in fear though...
If Kojima were to have Snake come out of the closet in an MGS prequel, do you think people would really care? I'm sure the Baptists would boycott the game, but beyond the homophobes, who's going to cry foul and get mad? I mean, I read Harry Potter for the first time when I was 8, nearly a decade later J.K. Rowling ousted Dumbledore as gay. Did that make me no longer like Dumbledore as a character? Nope. - theaceoface, on 11/11/2009, -0/+1Mass Effect lets you be gay, and the same with Dragon age. And lets not forget the Ballad of Gay Tony (not the main character but still...) and Fallout 3... I'm sure I'm missing a ton of games.
Granted, when a character's sexuality is brought up in a game, especially a main character, s/he is usually straight. But it's not as if homosexuals are totally absent from gaming. - Haoie, on 11/11/2009, -0/+1The Ballad of Straight Tony?

Most gay people aren't like that. The only reason for that stereotype is the flamboyant ones are a lot louder than the quieter ones, therefore giving people a false impression. - Ninh, on 11/11/2009, -0/+1I thought he was a Digger because he never gets it on with either male or female.
- shutaro, on 11/11/2009, -1/+1I always assumed he was a robot... Like that Metroid guy.
