Dickason's Response to DirecTV's CGS Announcement
ampedesports.com — All of the hype surrounding the DirecTV league is well deserved. It will usher in a new era in gaming, one where the underrated role player, who works hard day in and day out for his team, is finally appreciated.

- bdickason, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thanks for the digg, I really hope that this upcoming year is 'the year' for gaming, and DirecTv looks to be the league that pushes it there. I doubt the rest of the Digg community will be too friendly about it tho as I don't see this article hitting frontpage.
- PacoDG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I have never heard any hype about a DirecTV league, and actually never heard of their league at all. Satellite doesn't work in Florida, it rains too much, and even on a cloudy day, reception goes out.
The "Major League Gaming" (MLG) has done it right, I think they are doing the right thing in expanding into other games, and in time I have no doubts PC games will be entering their league in due time.- bdickason, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've been to most of the MLG events and I agree, they're doing a very good job. I think that in partnering with USA they burned alot of money, but I don't see Halo 2 being a sustainable competitive game because there's no capability for spectator support or custom camera angles.
Then again, I don't think Counterstrike is ideal, either.
