- CoreyHalliwell, on 06/17/2009, -4/+117Even with D3 Coming, with Blizzard Games you just have to be patient, the "When It's Done" mentality is something they haven't strayed from for years now. For those of you being impatient and demanding more, they don't work on your schedule. I look forward to it but i'm not about to set my home page to diablo3.com.
- anonymousmedic, on 06/18/2009, -5/+73Will I be able to transfer my Death Knight over?
- robertisaar, on 06/18/2009, -0/+62that mentality is why their games sell so well, its absolutely polished by release, yet you get buried? WTF?
- mgander, on 06/17/2009, -7/+61Good this will give me plenty of time to work out and build up my finger strength so I can practice clicking constantly for insane periods of time!
- shaynemckay, on 06/17/2009, -7/+50Why does everyone think you have to click so much? Did no one realize you can hold the mouse button down to attack?
- RootOverload, on 06/17/2009, -8/+51Screenshots are pretty boring, let's see some more video.
- evanstapler, on 06/18/2009, -2/+36Buried for resizing my browser for each screenshot I view.
- SoulGrub, on 06/18/2009, -1/+31I think expectations of these 2 games are going to be too high even for Blizzard to meet, chief complaint being that they will be too similar to the previous games. I don't have a problem with that, but there'll be an overwhelming tearfest when these games finally come out.
- Networktwenty3, on 06/18/2009, -0/+26I usually don't remember where I bought or downloaded a game and been a gamer for over 30 years... I remember when Diablo 1 came out, I read about it in a game magazine in the morning, picked it up on the way to work and played it at work for months... I remember Diablo 2, and finding it was sold out everywhere, I took the bus 30 miles to 1 game store that would hold a copy for me. I'm looking forward to D3.
- Sergej, on 06/18/2009, -4/+29Only if you're attacking the same monster for longer than 3 seconds or you were shooting arrows. And when was the last time that happened?
- dNitza, on 06/18/2009, -0/+22yeah no one wants to buy a game, get 2 hours in and have to wait for a patch to be released because it was rushed through production
- dangerdooms, on 06/18/2009, -0/+22Or, you know, you could hold down Shift and the mouse button simultaneously and chop/slash around in a circle !
- brassknizz, on 06/18/2009, -1/+21Played this at blizzcon 08'. It's really fun. The game feels so visceral; when you smack a goblin with a club as the barbarian the screen sort of shakes along with it, the howl of the goblin and the crack of the club from the goblin buckling under the pressure... difficult to explain, but it's kickass. The feel of the game is very immersive.
- DontThinkSo, on 06/18/2009, -3/+23Maybe you need to go back and play D2, but most of the game was *not* that dark. It's the dark, moody dungeons that you remember most - but that was only a handful of them (an entire act was whitewashed sand, another was snow, and another was grassy). I'm sure there will be dark areas in D3 as well.
- bigp3rm, on 06/18/2009, -2/+19These do look like images that have already been released. Buried.
- roguewriter, on 06/18/2009, -10/+24The art and models just don't look right in my opinion. I'm going to wait until I can see some actual gameplay trailers before making a decision about this game; perhaps even wait until I can demo it.
Blizzard North is no more, which means no one who worked on the first two Diablos has anything to do with Diablo 3. Which is probably why the visuals seem off. To me it just doesn't look right. That doesn't mean it won't play right, or have a different feel when playing than just looking at screenies or trailers. I'm hoping that actual gameplay has that Diablo feel.
Storywise, Diablo and Diablo 2 were all about the desperate battle against impossible odds. It was dark and moody, filled with despair and tragedy. That was part of the success. If D3 doesn't have that feel, it will still sell, but never have the community/following/fanbase that D2 created. - Knowitallism, on 06/17/2009, -7/+20stop giving us art work and screen shot *****, and give us more info about the game.
- PanicAK, on 06/18/2009, -2/+15Finally something that will be able to keep me away from WoW for good...
- Diggity, on 06/18/2009, -0/+13These screen shots have been around for more than a year... Buried for either poster negligence, CVG negligence, or Blizzard double posting picture hype.
- RegalBegal, on 06/18/2009, -0/+13By cry you mean masturbate furiously, right?
- ahwang, on 06/18/2009, -1/+13noob alert
- chubbstar, on 06/18/2009, -1/+12i remember thinking "they added heroes to WC3. so what?" and not only was that a brilliant an innovative move this inadvertently birthed DotA which well... its basically one the best games ive ever played (even though its just a custom map).
- CoreyHalliwell, on 06/18/2009, -0/+11There are people who bury people just because... it's weird but.... who cares.
- Myztry, on 06/18/2009, -3/+14Duke Nukem Forever.
It will be released when forever comes around... - Killbot2015, on 06/18/2009, -4/+15Protip: Just turn your brightness and color on your monitor down and you can simulate the real dark grayish mess that Gears of War fans love :D
- jezsik, on 06/18/2009, -0/+10I'm starting to wonder if it's being delayed because they're adding a new class of character. The new one is a large, cigar smoking, crew cut blond male wearing dark glasses and making witty remarks whenever he kills something. Some people would wait forever for such a character in a game.
- ell0bo, on 06/18/2009, -0/+10I'm just glad I don't have college to almost fail out of again.
- inactive, on 06/18/2009, -2/+12I loved Chinese Democracy
- Browzer, on 06/18/2009, -1/+11Yeah, if there's one thing PC gaming needs, it's more muddy brown games that are so freakin' dark you have to pull down the shades if you want to play them in the day.
- CeruleanRed, on 06/18/2009, -0/+9Butters - I need you to bury me in the snow and...
- Dota, on 06/18/2009, -0/+9i have finally found my parents
- zaferk, on 06/18/2009, -3/+12Try playing this awesome game in the meantime
www.warhammerinfo.com/diablo2.swf - Valyn, on 06/18/2009, -0/+9I don't know why you're being dugg down. They may technically be new, they show absolutely nothing new. Might as well be the same screenshots we've seen before.
- Networktwenty3, on 06/18/2009, -2/+10What real life doesn't do it for you?
- Legoman513, on 06/18/2009, -0/+8I'm sure someone said that about all of their previous sequels as well ;-)
It's one of those things where we won't know until they are out. I certainly think SC2 has potential. D3 is too far off for me to feel one way or the other about it. - Smyley, on 06/18/2009, -3/+11Blizzard is becoming a word synonymous with blue balls.
- inactive, on 06/18/2009, -1/+9http://medialib.computerandvideogames.com/screens/ ...
LEEEROOOOOY.... oh, wait, wrong game. - booststrong, on 06/18/2009, -1/+8Unemployment here we come!!!!
- L0WR1D3R, on 06/18/2009, -8/+15Still not a fan of the art. I realize that there were bright orange bats in D2 as well but I feel they can do better than this. It's not a big deterrent though.
- TheAbsintheHare, on 06/18/2009, -0/+7Er.... why wouldn't it be? Blizzard has always released Mac and PC versions of every game after Warcraft 2 at the same time.
- Lurial, on 06/18/2009, -0/+7starcraft 2 is FAR FAR FAR from being the same as sc1.
- brownsound00, on 06/18/2009, -0/+7I like the sound of dropping items. "I am overburdened" - wuka wuka-ch
- fieryseraph, on 06/18/2009, -0/+6and divorce!
- LordVance, on 06/18/2009, -0/+6There may be some artists, programmers, or sound engineers that worked on the first title. However, the core team left and dissolved Blizzard North. David Brevik, Hedlund, Sexton, Okamura, Woo, and of course the almighty Schaefer brothers who all made up the heart and soul of the Diablo development team have all parted ways. Bill Roper is quite obviously gone, and Matt Uelmen - the composer working on the projects (as well as quite a few other Blizzard projects) is out of there as well. It's really quite a shame too, the Diablo series had some of the most memorable music I've ever experienced in a game, his music really set the mood.
- Boogalou007, on 06/18/2009, -1/+7Highly recommend Sacred 2 to hold you over until D3 comes out. Freakin game is addicting.
- eviscerator, on 06/18/2009, -0/+6Glad to hear it. I really liked the sound of clubs in Diablo2 :)
- norman619, on 06/18/2009, -0/+6zen:
Can you please specify? The demo video looked fairly dark to me. - apec766, on 06/18/2009, -1/+7It's called a species and tribes. I mean, come on, man.
- mikerz611, on 06/18/2009, -2/+8I'm pretty sure the whole "when its done" thing was invented by 3d Realms...
- apec766, on 06/18/2009, -0/+6I'd much rather wait for a fully polished, amazingly addictive, completely awesome Diablo that requires very little updating than some released-too-early shell of what Diablo could be.
