- humpy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+44Somebody needs to work out a little more if you're having trouble pressing down the buttons on the 360 controller.
- Atom, on 10/12/2007, -13/+36I can hear them hammering another nail in the PS3's coffin.
- Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25I don't quite understand the reasoning for PS3 owners to be annoyed about this. This doesn't mean that their version of the game 'won't be good'. I'm sure it will still kick ass just as it would if it wasn't also being released for the 360. All this means now is that both systems will have GOOD games. Last generation it was unfair in that Xbox owners didn't get to play a lot of the high calibre games that were released for the PS2, forcing them to buy another console if they wanted to get ahold of Tekken or DMC games. Now, any owner of one of the two consoles will get to enjoy these games, and nobody should complain.
If Sony didn't want to lose their 'exclusives', they should make more of their own games. Sadly, PS3 owners will not ever see a Halo game on the PS3 simply because MS owns the rights to that franchise.
Frankly, I wish this weren't true because 'console exclusives' are really just a bad thing for consumers in the end. Behind all the fanboyism, a result of marketing techniques really, who wouldn't want the ability to just buy ONE console and enjoy all the good games on either console. I'm tired of being forced to decide between: Halo? or MGS? ***** that. This is why for the longest reason I stayed away from console wars, and stuck with my trusty PC. My advice to both 360 and PS3 fans: stop DEFENDING your favorite piece of hardware, it really is ludicrous to do so. Just know that both systems will be awesome in the end, and while they do attempt at doing different things their main priority will be to play awesome games, so stop doubting your purchases and stop trying to 'defend' them either. Video games shouldn't be a cause for riots in the streets, or any argument for that matter. - xqb4dpx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19dude, gears, ut3, dmc4, i probably would cut off my social life for like 3 years.
- BadassCheese, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18I already have *cries*
- TimmyGUNZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10"1) The X360 buttons are much more difficult to press. They're round-ish, and take considerably more force; "
Haha..you weak Sony fanboy! Put down the controller and hit the gym! - taxman, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13Welcome to the club, I am 2 months into "sacrificing" my social life for GOW.
My reasoning is "i hate to go out when its cold". - psbpv3o, on 10/12/2007, -6/+15To the above controller comments.
I don't care who you are, or what kind of weird ass controller you've been using for the past 10 years of your life. The 360 controller feels really nice. I hated the original x-box controller but the 360 one is so nice in your hands and intuitive.
And yeah, the ps3 is dead. I'm tired of defending them, they have no first party games that aren't being ported or dropped, it's really expensive, blu-ray probably will not win the dvd war, and the corporate guys at sony are *****.
***** you ps3. - Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Wow, get used to it. It's a different controller, made by a different company, of COURSE its going to feel different. Does every MadCatz or other 3rd party contollers feel like the Dualshock? No, but they still work right? So does the 360's controller.
- Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Unless you've got ogre hands, any of these controllers shouldn't be that big of a problem. I've played every with nearly every system's controller and while they each feel different, it doesn't matter as long as they work. Now, in terms of overall function (not feel), one can review the controllers with an objective point of view. For example, while I am a nintendo fanboy at heart and my favorite FEELING controller of the last gen was the GC's, I still can admit that the overall placement of things was not very logical. For example, the Z button? It took me like a month to even realize it was there, not to mention how difficult it could be to hit it. Also, the C-stick was pretty much useless in nearly every game. However, the 360's controller and the Sixaxis both offer pretty much the same degree of functionality in terms of the placement of buttons (with the exception of the SIXAXIS motion controls). So any criticism of how they FEEL is pretty much irrelevant.
Except for the original Xbox's first controller, that ***** was HUEG and fugly. Luckily they have a much nicer design now. - SuMizzle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Seeing how Capcom has shown some love to the Microsoft, I think it is very possible to see DMC4 on the 360. I think that is more of a possibility than MGS4.
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12sorry but the dual shock controllers suck ass. I have always hated them. they are meant for small hands and the ergonomics are *****.
How the ***** is a round button harder to press? Your thumb fits over the whole button. - taxman, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12There is not much difference between the dual shock and the 360 controllers cept the placing of the left analog stick and dpad. Although i found the 360 controller to be easier on my thumbs, i am sure ppl who have played PS2 a lot will find the dual shock layout better. But that difference can be easily overcome with a few hours of gaming in on the 360. So its a moot point to say that the dual shock is better cos of the layout.
Difference will be the "sixaxis" and the rumble feature. Although i think motion control is good, i wouldn't really want it at the expense of the rumble feature. And i am guessing the majority of the gamers feel the same way. So its a good thing DMC is also coming out on the 360. Now if only God of war can move too, i will have no reason to get a PS3(which i am planning to get in a couple of years).
I am not a fan of RPGs and stealth games so i dont care about FF or MGS. - dobbinmon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Still... you won't see Fable or Knights of the Old Republic coming to the PS3 anytime soon
- Brutis1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Yeah, because competition is suuuch a bad thing in the video game business.
/sarcasm - xboxfiend, on 11/11/2007, -3/+10There's absolutely nothing wrong with the 360 controller buttons. I don't know where you got your info from but I don't press any harder on this controller than any other I've had. From the looks of things, it would be in the best interest of any developer considering to make their game exclusive to PS3 to re-think that commitment if they don't want to lose money.
- InfinitySnatch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Why the ***** would Playstation Magazine announce a rumor like that?
- TimmyGUNZ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Hence the insertion of the question mark in the title.
Stop being a douche bag. - TDR25, on 11/11/2007, -1/+7I know if the PS3 doesn't start selling right about, wait for it...now, than yes, I wouldn't be surprised if Capcom does bring DMC4 to the 360. DMC4 would be a mean ass game with Xbox Live support...and I don't even have a 360. And Capcom and Microsoft have been rather friendly with each other lately.
- Razerious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Lies. The devil doesn't cry. He's badass.
- vhold, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I gotta completely agree with jimbojimbo.
The 360 controller is great in every way except the D-pad which is practically a tragedy, you can't even properly navigate menus with it because it goes diagonal so easy. What the heck were they thinking? It is only good for games where you very occasionally tap it to switch weapons/etc.
But... either way.. it doesn't affect a game like DMC which is played entirely with analog.
( The thing I hate most is that the 360 controller is going to have the PC wireless adapter, which will be almost useless for me because my main use of a gamepad on the PC is emulation.. I -seriously- recommend you get a PS2->USB adaptor for playing emulated games, the PS2 D-pad is -perfect- for arcade emulation ) - pwndwtf, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7yea and those 2 games are still blowing you out of the water!
- jer2eydevil88, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7You say "Only" like those are small franchises?
- IdanE, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7That is one of the lamest things I've heard. I've had an XBox and a PS2 for several years, and the only thing that the PS2 controller did better was that it had 2 shoulder buttons on each side, and the XBox had one, but had those retarded black/white buttons. Now that the 360 has the same layout as the PS3 (the PS3 actually copied the xbox analog lower triggers), I only see this in terms of comfort, and, guess what - the 360 is a MUCH more comfortable than the PS3. Add to that the fact that you don't get rumble on the PS3, and the fact that the motion controls on PS3 don't translate well to this type of game (although they might in a Wii version, simply because you have 2 hand freedom), and you get a port that will play EXACTLY the same.
And, BTW, I've noticed that a lot of PS2 fans like the flat buttons, but Honestly, I think that it's something that is easy to get used to, and in the end doesn't hamper gameplay.
In the end, Since games obviously don't look a whole lot better on the PS3 (compared to the 360), and the 360 being easier to develop for, having a bigger user base (at least for now) and being simply more versatile for a gamer (simply because there's that many more games to play) means that an XBox port will be a smart move - Egotrippin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Not a fan of DMC, but it does have loyal following as all game franchises do. And I bet 75% of those fans will be playing there DMC4 on the 360. I wouldn't call it a nail in the coffin for the PS3, but it's definitely not good news for Sony.
- TimmyGUNZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Well back then, your choices were Nintendo or Sega. (Turbographix-16 was such a minor player it's not even worth mentioning.) These days, you have PC, Microsoft, Sony & Nintendo with countless companies looking to maximize profits. There is so much more competition now than in the "good old days" that there's just as much, if not MORE motivation to create an amazing multi-platform game.
Look at Grand Theft Auto. That franchise was never solely exclusive to any one format and it will go down in history with being just as classic as games like Sonic & Mario. - TimmyGUNZ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3How about "Lost Planet?" That game sold over 1 million it's first week.
- razordancer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well, that was only in DMC1... I doubt that will be hitting the 360... As an aside, I was really bummed when DMC2 had that feature removed.. And then further annoyed when DMC2 turned out to be a horrible game. They did good on 3 though..
- somesthetic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'd prefer more games were exclusive to different consoles than less.
I guess that makes me odd. When I look back at the history of gaming, the very best games were not multiplatform games. some of them got ported later, that is true, but they were built for one console and that specificity helped to make them great. - vhold, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3"I don't know where you got your info from but I don't press any harder on this controller than any other I've had."
Hmm.. well.. I like the 360 controller, but I do have to admit.. the PS2 controller buttons can be pressed much faster then the 360 buttons. They have a lot less resistance and travel. It's rare to have a game where that really matters, but I remember in the original DMC you could press the shoot button insanely fast if you were capable in order to perform the really slow falling pistol shooting. It'd definitely be harder to do it on the 360 controller. - Septimus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Wow, you're a moron. Blocked.
- estvir, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Considering how damn well Dead Rising and Lost Planet are fairing on X360 I'm not too suprised. I also don't care since I've never been a fan of DMC4 but yay for those who do care.
- gallagherFTW, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1omg now all the 360 needs is MGS4 and i won't need a ps3 at all. that is only looking at the landscape of games right now. and no, i don't like god of war that much so you can't ***** your pants and tell me "OMG GOD OF WAR 3 IS THE REASON FOR THE 600!" NAH
- Rell812, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm a pretty big DMC fan, so this is great news.
Now, half my reason for being jealous of PS3 owners is gone. - WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This site is TOTALLY knowledgeable on DMC4 coming to the 360 and the PS3. After all, 360fanboy needs good games.
- orientis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@Atom It does for me, that's for sure. DMC4 was the only reason I wanted a PS3. The 360 is looking better and better every day.
- somesthetic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1GTA3, VC, and SA all came out on PS2 and then were ported. thats what I meant when I said they were ported later.
- convictravers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What about the corporate ***** at microsoft???
- Goken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1DMC 4 on Xbox 360? Well now I don't have a reason to buy a PS3.
- Pardis, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4@radiofrequency
Microsoft's entry into the console market is a waste of time and money all around. Instead of game developers spending more time and money to make better games, they're porting stuff to an additional console. What's the benefit?
if the industry followed your advice we would still just have atari and intelevision. why make games for those new systems nintentdo and sega. - radiofrequency, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The same game on 5 different consoles does not make the market "competitive" for gamers - it's still the same game, same design, same mechanics.
The xbox 360 offers nothing in the way of competition in the console market. There are hardly any exclusives for it vs. the number of exclusives for Sony and Nintendo hardware. - chinaman1472, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1FFXI being an exception, my mistake.
- WtrMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1DMC 4 was one of the reasons that I would try and get a PS3 in the future. Now I might not need to. Very awesome.
- Akaji, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I find all the people who tell me I'm weak or need to 'hit the gym' funny. The issue is obviously that I've not been playing enough games, so my fingers are weak.
(For the record, I'm above average in strength, and do weightlift semi-regularly) - crazysasha, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Screw Devil May Cry, I want to play Sneak King!
- Blandyman, on 11/11/2007, -4/+4You really are embarrassing yourself, Akaji. Unless you suffer from cerebral palsy or Parkinson's, I don't see how playing with the 360's rounded buttons as opposed to the PS2/3's makes a difference.
And before you say I'm a fanboy like you did to xboxfiend (which doesn't mean he's in the Microsoft Army by the way you assumption-forming twit) I own all 3 consoles of last generation and only haven't bought a PS3 because I don't have any money for it right now (I have a 360 and am getting a Wii on the 27th of February for my birthday). - JayD16, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2"I don't quite understand the reasoning for PS3 owners to be annoyed about this. You are completely mistaken if you think that multi platforms are just as good as exclusives. They're not. The reason I hate seeing an exclusive go multiplatform is because it needs to get dumbed down to the weaknesses of both consoles instead of playing to all the strengths of one. The end product is a watered down version of what it could have been. - Orlex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0taxman, that's a good plan! My parents keep giving me weird looks when I can't go outside because of "giant robotic spiders"
- stevey5036, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Please let this be true.. I dont want to drop 500 on a ps3 just to play this game!
- Orlex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If digging you down makes me gay, then sign me up!
