Day of Defeat: Source Cracked & Released 2 days early.
cs.rin.ru — Looks like MaddoxX has done it again, EMPORIO has released a non steam version of DOD:S 2 days before you can play it on steam, nice work.

- analogue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They should simply give up on game protection, and focus on quality.
- Fuelrock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0As if we really couldn't wait a couple more days to play it...
- jasqwerty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Valve just doesn't get it, and they apparently never will. :-/

"They should..., and focus on quality." - Half-life 2 is an awesome game (bordering on epic) both in terms of visuals and storyline. Suggesting that they need to "focus on quality" suggests that you haven't even played the game.
VALVe is one of the few computer game companies (if not, the only) that actually make awesome games worth playing for. Ripping them off by downloading their games for free does nothing to help finance them to make more games.
BTW, Steam is easy. If people can't figure it out, they should throw away their computer. - jasqwerty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Buying HL2 (the CD), then having to install Steam to play the single player mode, well, that pissed me off.
SO....
I got the hacked rip, and I didn't have any of the problems steam users had with HL2 at the beginning either. LOL!
