- ileftfark, on 10/27/2009, -7/+258This is a terrible thing to hear. No matter how bad things get, no one should be forced to drink Bud Light.
- stockwitch, on 10/26/2009, -6/+207What I don't get is why the author insisted on dragging the brand of beer he was drinking into the article and then using that for an image. As if Bud Light was responsible for this murder. Bizarre.
- chrissku, on 10/27/2009, -2/+138"But as drunks tend to do....."
I disagree. Typically as the average drunk ages & matures they tend to stop killing children at birthday parties over video games. - cogitocogito, on 10/27/2009, -2/+93Real man of genius.
- o0catastrophe0o, on 10/26/2009, -1/+90wow again, what the ***** is wrong with people?! this is a perfect example of why people should NOT have kids if they do not know how to be responsible and an actual parent. god i hate people.
- fety, on 10/27/2009, -9/+83In other news, Marijuana is still illegal.
- mlvassallo, on 10/27/2009, -1/+70That was a poorly written story.
- fragomatik, on 10/27/2009, -3/+66Truecrimereport seems to follow the school of journalism where it's ok to editorialise. They don't have to do much research, just spew forth opinions in lieu of insight. Undoubtedly, they see themselves as ironic and "edgy", but IMO they fail to make any meaningful connection with the subject. Getting us to "laugh at the stupid murderer" keeps this tragic story at arm's length, keeps us disconnected from it. In a sense it downplays the tragic death of poor Ignacio by focusing on Oselio's taste in beer, his drunken mutterings and his hiding in the closet. Sure, the mention of Bud Light could be interpreted as a responsible commentary on alcohol related crime, but if that is the case then why stop there? Why not raise the issue of gun-control as well (for example), or that Ignacio was a father-to-be at 17! So much "human stuff" in this story that they could have used to engage us, to stimulate thought, opinion and emotion in the reader. But a cheap little barb is all we get. Not a call to action, but an invitation to join in a collective "tsk-tsk check this loser out, he drank too many Buds ha-ha".
- ChronicColonic, on 10/26/2009, -12/+73Can't they just go back to the save before they started the level?
- namslam, on 10/26/2009, -4/+64This is a very, VERY sad story. To lose your life over something SO stupid, is a tragedy. My heart goes out to the family.
- Solkre, on 10/27/2009, -1/+59"Mr. get drunk and shoot your kid in the back of the neck over a video game guy?"
- Haoie, on 10/27/2009, -1/+56Interesting change of pace from the usual "teen kills dad over video game" headlines.
- walnutmon, on 10/27/2009, -0/+54except the dad, right?
- preppypoof, on 10/26/2009, -3/+53yes, he probably was very drunk. but stockwitch's point was that it isn't relevant to the article to mention which particular brand of beer was making him drunk.
- therealrico, on 10/27/2009, -1/+34This crime report is brought to you by Coors Light, because Bud Light makes you kill your son!
- malice8691, on 10/27/2009, -7/+38The game is missing. They cant play it. Way to miss the whole point of the story.
- js281, on 10/27/2009, -1/+30I'm more interested in which video game it was than what beer he was drinking.
- UhNathUhMuh, on 10/26/2009, -0/+28Another sickening story that makes you lose just a bit more faith in humanity... I feel sorry for the family and friends (especially his child and soon to be new born)
- chriscanada, on 10/27/2009, -2/+27Wait, hold on a second. You can get drunk off of bud light?
- dyintrovert2, on 10/27/2009, -0/+20Revenge is a dish best served drunk?
- inactive, on 10/27/2009, -1/+21http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bugchasing
- seanhorvath, on 10/27/2009, -4/+22wait... which game.
- satirenine, on 10/27/2009, -0/+18Apparently, beer is also a gateway drug..to murder!!
- KrazyMon2, on 10/27/2009, -0/+17Wow Jrayk that ***** is ***** up!
- porninstructor, on 10/27/2009, -0/+14I just can't believe that someone can get THAT DRUNK on bud light, to commit murder...
- joculator, on 10/27/2009, -2/+16Classy use of the Bud Light picture.
- eloestea, on 10/27/2009, -1/+15Shouldnt be laughing, but that ***** was funny.
- frankenlinks, on 10/27/2009, -0/+13Seriously people.....
Who here has never destroyed a few nachos over a video game? - badfish0116, on 10/27/2009, -0/+12My invincibility stars go out to this family as well
- hellengineer, on 10/27/2009, -1/+13things don't get more ***** up than this.
- briguymaine, on 10/27/2009, -2/+13wah wahhhhhh.....
- jwgmac, on 10/27/2009, -0/+10Love it! You sir, are a 'genius!'
- lisaawesome, on 10/27/2009, -0/+10That made me throw up a little bit. You've got to be seriously ***** up in the head to do that.
- nowhereelse, on 10/27/2009, -2/+12It's oversimplifying to blame any single one of these factors for this tragedy. The only practical solution would be to ban Americans.
- ChronicColonic, on 10/27/2009, -1/+10Ah - correct, what good is the save without the game...
- satirenine, on 10/27/2009, -0/+9Oh, come on. That was funny.
- V3n0M, on 10/27/2009, -0/+9Left 4 Dead?
- Ehmcee, on 10/27/2009, -0/+9Hiding in his friends closet, wow, what a great getaway.
- GrammerPants, on 10/27/2009, -1/+10Ban Bud Lite? I agree that ***** is a crime against beer.
- askantik, on 10/27/2009, -0/+9If I had to drink lots of ***** beer, I'd go insane, too.
- theonlywizdum, on 10/27/2009, -2/+10Yes, we should ban guns because people get drunk and shoot kids over video games at birthday parties. Should we ban video games too? And birthday parties? And beer?
- painting, on 10/27/2009, -1/+9its all fun and games until someone gets a gun and shoot you in the neck.
- theonlywizdum, on 10/27/2009, -1/+9On the internet, no one cares about your problems...because they can just use them to feel better about their own failures.
- CaviMike, on 10/27/2009, -1/+8I hope they make good use of that death penalty express-lane Ron White was talking about.
- thechilipepper0, on 10/27/2009, -0/+7well all I know is that when i drink bud light it makes me wanna rampage for having to drink that swill
- bjs3171, on 10/27/2009, -0/+7totally. he got his warning. but if he ever kills his son again, *****'s going down.
- haxninja, on 10/27/2009, -2/+9Blaming beer is a bit to easy in this case you need to be pretty ***** up to..
- fireinbergen, on 10/27/2009, -6/+13Did they find the game?
- briguymaine, on 10/27/2009, -0/+6drinking wine IS Catholicism
- r1ptide64, on 10/27/2009, -0/+6Goddamn it, I really ***** hate web 2.0 when terribly written ***** like this is considered acceptable. It's a far cry from what real journalists write, and thanks to the internet, this ***** gets a voice. For all I know, every single word of this story was made up.
And what's up with the anti-Bud Light agenda? I mean, clearly the beer tastes like *****, but he didn't need to mention it by name. -
