- griz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28You probably don't go to 900 Yard Sales in a year. Translation, you might just have a life.
- crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21"I suppose they could gift them to friends & family as well."

Here Johnny, have a copy of duckhunt.
Johnny: Duckhunt sucks, I want Gears of War.
---------- - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+26People rag on us for living in California. Who's laughing now biatch?
*hides due to earthquake* - UltimaNut, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15This guy is calling people "White Trash" but he buying all this *****. Umm yea okay.
Granted, the geekyness of this is cool. But lets face it. A grown man going around buying all old video game systems and legos calling someone else "White Trash" is ironic. - loneBoat, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15I haven't RTA, so I'm not complaining, but why was the price of a sandwich our measuring stick here? Why not the price of a rubber chicken or something else? :-)
- CalZStudios, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12I skimmed through and noticed the working Gamecube for $1 one. That's pretty pro.
- flag564, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Nope. They are parents who are unloading stuff their kids dont use.
It's more of a declutter thing then money making. - ConkerBFD, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Only if it has the "moist maker"
- pureliquidhw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9not when you don't give a ***** and just want it out of your basement.

- Splitt3rxx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10omfg $2 for a complete NES..... why do i never find this stuff? I did get a SNES, SF64 and banjo kazooie for $5 each though. and earthbound, also $5:)
- NewChar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Because sandwiches taste better.
- omnicore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7@lordthor
It says in their FAQ that they keep everything they buy. - flag564, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I go to lots of garage sales, church sales, flea markets. This is a great sample of what is out there.
I've picked up some classic systems and rare games and made a killing reselling them.
if you want this stuff, I suggest to hit the sales this summer hard. Empty nesters are clearing out their attics and basements of their kids old "junk" for their move to Florida or Arizona. they are all too happy to dump this stuff for next to nothing. - Goner, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6@patriot71: Try a spyware scan...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4What are you talking about? Goodwill is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, just like the Salvation Army. They make money on those donated items, but almost all of the money (their website says 82%) is channeled into service programs. (The rest, like any going concern, goes to salaries, contractors, capital goods and facilities, etc.-- the stuff you need to *remain* a going concern.)
- 98acura, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6dugg mirror doesnt work due to ***** site design...
- raptordrew, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I should really stop ebaying the games I want, and just take enough time to find the right yard sales, and save myself a bit of money. Nice find!
- ktchpmn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4does it say where they live? cause they seem to have kick ass yard sales in their area.
- lunarnall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Best find ever: Vectrex + 8 games for $10.
Second best find ever: Dreamcast + 10 games for $20
Garage sales are awesome. - spidrw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I can't read the article (farking proxy), but arcade cabinets can be had for free very often. I got one from a guy 30 minutes from my house, in great condition. I just posted on a newsgroup that I was looking for one, and this guy held it for me for 3 months until I could pick it up. Nothing inside worked (that I could tell anyway) which was fine since I turned it into a MAME cab, but still, the cabinet itself was free.
Interestingly, I was sanding down the (blue) paint and realized I saw Blinky from PacMan underneath...it was an original PacMan cabinet! - dan4prez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3How many friggen N64 bundles did this couple buy?
They practically got one every other week! - adidax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2When I worked at Gamestop a few years ago, about once every other week or so, some old lady (different every time, not the same old lady) would come in with a box that has a NES, SNES, Genisis, or something else (once a NeoGeo) and try to sell them. When we said that we didn't take anything older than Playstation games, they'd just ask if they could leave them there, cause they just wanted to get them out of their house.
- xipotec, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I don't understand?! all these people giving away nintendo64+lots of games for like 2 dollars? Sounds like a really bad deal for the sellers.
- lordthor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4wow... I wonder if they ebay most of this *****... I suppose they must, otherwise they'd have several copies of each system.
- dadioflex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2And does Goodwill have a policy of not employing anyone who isn't a heterosexual Christian?
- dadioflex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Probably because they already have jobs and this is their hobby. Turn it into a business and every month they're going to be paying out for rent and utilities for their store. Hell the pressure of going into business together could finish them as a couple. Is that really what you want?
- afred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2yes.... Massachusetts. Gotta read the FAQ ketchup man.
- hijinks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2awesome they got a great find on craigslist a arcade cabinet for only $50
- diecastbeatdown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i'm not even going to check out their pictures or purchase, it would just sicken me that i didn't find those deals. but who has time to do all that yard sale searching.
- n8r0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wonder if this couple has ever considered starting a mom and pop used game store, they seem to have the inventory for it.
A friend of mine runs a very successful mom and pop used game store. It took him a while to build up an inventory. He used the same principle to build his inventory, he would buy the games and systems for next to nothing at yard sales and flea markets. People come to him when looking for older systems and games because they do not want to hassle with yard sales or flea markets. - SLP1111, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Damn I would have jumped at the chance to buy the DC retail kiosk, always wanted a video game kiosk and $20 is a steal
- Luis911, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I got an Original PS1 and the original FFVII for $10 at a garage sale.
- Sparkster185, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2duggmirror only mirrors the page linked to......
- jhshukla, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2New verb is added to M-W:
ebay (v. t., v. int.): exchanging of goods through eBay.e.g.
I ebayed my old printer for 20 bucks.
I should stop ebaying. - Kale, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Whoah!! Earthbound was an awesome game. SNES had the "dream team" of early RPGs: Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, and FFVI (or III as it was released at the time).
- vandalin7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1damn they got some great stuff i woulda killed for a saturn specially if it came with dragon force.....
- Derrekito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@thebrink
BOO you :p - ronin9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Cory Doctorw's Craphound anyone?
- Emus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE DIGG EFFECT
- asauterChicago, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm not sure why you got dugg down on that. I was thinking the same thing: A couple goes to a lot of yard sales and finds cheap stuff, ZOMG!!!
- osc1882, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's not a good price. My good will jumped NES game prices from $1-$2 to $6.99. Thats pretty darn ***** for the good will.
- mk32066, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ flag
Unfortunately I live in Florida, so everyone has already sold their stuff and moved down here. :-( - johnpombrio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Err, so I go and edit the post.. and then what? There is no done button and I end up double posting. Digg needs to fix their site.
- celchu33, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3http://www.duggmirror.com/
- bowels, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yeah, I'd much rather have a sandwich myself.
- levyjl1988, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Those are awesome deals! But it's in America, and it's very rare for me to come upon deals like that in Canada, everything is expensive.
- MrDarkSim, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I know another good place to get good deals on used consoles is Goodwill stores.I have bought 2 SNES systems for $5 each. One of them had 3 games with it.
It's a win/win situation.You get a good deal on some games,the money goes to charity,and someone unloaded a bunch of crap they didn't want. - Kale, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1!!!
Lucky :( -
