thats what she said - cracker42, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I like how Spore is the first in line for "Highest Rated" games before it has even been released. I guess watching Will Wright play a game is enough to know it's good.
- Thors1982, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah, i just was about to say something about that, the highest rated game is something no one has played yet :-(
Honestly I love the idea of people rating games... but people give bad reviews cause of its series history/name/system/company/designer. - KyleGoetz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm confused. Under the "top rated games," you find Spore is #1. However, Spore is not out yet. Crap? I think so.
- ciperl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Woooo... they finally released this one. I've been waiting.
- TheGameAttorney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This idea is a long time coming. As someone in the game industry, who is also a gamer, I love being able to see new and inventive games . I got to see fl0w and Forces because of this great site. It really helps cut through the clutter and the feedback of all the other gamers makes this really valuable!
- bseyler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This site kicks ass. Social networking for gamers and developers with an interface smoother and slicker than anywhere else? Let's make this thing as big as it deserves to be.
- eastbeast314, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2So many sweet games to download/play in-browser...
Support indie games! - Mr_Lyle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The site in and of itself is a great idea but the problem with formats like that is that they become nothing more than a huge popularity contest. You can already see it heading that way with Spore being on the top rated list. It's a shame too because under normal circumstances this site would be a great asset. As it stands now though, it's nothing more than glorified fanboyism.
- luquis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That is why a little bit of searching is involved. If you click on the "Free" or "Flash" tabs then a whole bunch of non-commercial titles will come-up, waiting for anyone in the world to play. It's a fantastic resource for developers to showcase their games so as to improve them or create some sort of a fan base. It's also awesome for the casual gamer that just wants to sit down on the computer and play some cheesy flash games in their browser.
- Windsurfer619, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Hey! This site is amazing! I made the game "Forces" which is currently the most viewed on GGE.
Any person who considers themselves a gamer should join this site. It's invaluable for finding great games! - cheese1113, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I totally dig it!
- MikeWeller, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2bseyler, were you payed to say that?
Clicking around the site it doesn't look that special IMO. - Badazz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0I have been a part of this site since it was in closed beta. The rating system is great if you work it and if you don't. If someone seriously wants to find you and your game all they have to do is search, click on the right gaming tabs at the top, or ask someone in the site. This place is as active as any Great Forum I have ever been a part of, as well as an asset to any team out there looking for talented staff to finish an indie game or commercial game. The staff at GGE are always available to answer your questions and scoot you along towards a good experience. They really put a lot of thought into the layout, plugins and entertaining and interactive, side of this platform. Many of my friends are there and, active or not, the majority of them agree, GGE ROCKS!
- athiarchist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Im digging it, this is awesome!!!
- pdaigle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's pretty awesome, I gotta say
- Jomskylark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is too great to be true!
- AlexVM, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yes, but it's still a great site.
- mazza558, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1And it comes crashing down. Server down for anyone else?
Edit: never mind.
