- Polymira, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4vid was proven fake a while ago.
- E1M1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Possibly. In Linux we have no access to the eight SPEs, only the main PPE core. As with the Xbox 360's 3 cores, the PS3's core is simplified and less powerful when compared to a desktop CPU.
- Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4If you honestly thought that video was real, well its your fault that you were let down. No hacker posts a video of a hack and then promises a release weeks later... they post the hack. Plus it was just an image in the god damn Photo Channel, with frigg'n music playing in the background. So many ways it could have been faked its just ridiculous. I guess thats a problem with digg though, even if something is obviously fake it will still get dugg up due to the masses. Oh well, we can deal.
- Polymira, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Ignignokt01 - Not true, psp 1.5 hacks were posted as video some time before released. They even seemed totally fake =/ *Just pointing it out*
BECAUSE, some of these hacks that come out can be buggy (not work all the time, or be dangerous), and need some things tweaked and worked out. But people want to let the world know it's comming before releasing..
Wii vid was just stupid. - tim4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2According to the image at the bottom of the article, the PS3 "Cell" 3.2 Ghz is comparable to a "1.5 G5". Is that accurate?
- yoda133113, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This article isn't about getting backups to play, it's about actually hacking into the system to allow it to do what we want it to do. Similar to what people did with the first XBox and the PS2. So just because you can get the Fight Night to play, it doesn't mean we can run homebrew code such as media center type software.
- JimXugle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2.... and I just got my share ratio back to 1 yesterday after the 22C3.
- elitexero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Speaking of which, what happened to the 'wii hack' that was supposed to come out yesterday?
- Tenlow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That's not exactly "hacked" when compared to the xbox.
My understanding of this was it was a step in getting the 360 to boot linux, not to pirate games. - edrift101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The DVD firmware hack is a different beast and allows the console to play 1 to 1 copies. The Holy Grail is to get the 360 to run unsigned code.
- drmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Go SPAM someplace else
- dagamer34, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is there a video of this event like there was for hacking the Xbox? It's pretty cool.
For those who haven't seen hacking the Xbox (1 hour long video): http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4356347903120410001&q=hacking+the+xbox&hl=en - plastek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wish they would publish some information regarding the serial port that's on the back of the Wii DVD drive.

I was in the same situation when the psp was being hacked and look at it now. I was assuming the same sort of thing was happening now. - plastek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1As far as compile times go, my Sempron 3300+ with 2048MB of pc3200 puts the PS3 to shame.
For now.. - JDMBolix, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0Is this article serious? I HAVE A HACKED 360. Idiots. I am staring at my DVD+R DL of Fight Night Round 3 right this very second.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+0is it legal to hack something that is yours

What is Digg?
