Confirmed: Nintendo DS is used as a Wii controller
siliconera.com — Pokemon Battle Revolution is the first game to take advantage of this feature where the touch screen has a menu with Pokemon attacks. Pokemon Battle Revolution also is the first online game. A lot of firsts for the first Pokemon Wii game.

- LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -12/+13Well, yeah. We've seen the videos and read the press releases. This isn't anything new.
- TrainwreckX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6This is very old news. Here's an old video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=FgraCePaHGk
- Sakumi, on 10/12/2007, -9/+6I wouldn't exactly call it a Wii controller, more along the line of an extension for games written to utilize it. Very cool indeed, but it's not a replacement for the classic controller, or any Wii controller for that matter. Dugg anyways - Wii's neat (even tho Pokemon scares me..)
- SystmBetatester, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10agree'd not new, but hopefully nintendo will put an effort forth to make it more useful then the gba-gcn connectivity since theyve sold so many of them damn things :)
- terminalpariah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I'd say Four Swords Adventures more than justifies it.
- Itazura, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13This was confirmed the day they showed the Wii at E3 thanks for that breaking story Fox News.
- wetard57, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Last time i played a pokemon game was a long time ago but i do remember the pokemon game for 64 that u could put put your game boy pokemon into it. just using the ds as sounds cool, i hope more then just a pokemon game is to take advantage of this(im sure they will, hoping something with big brain or the new super mario bros) pokemon has fallen from it once popularity...
- stukast1, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1oh wow pokemon looks good now, I only played up to yellow on gameboy and stadium on N64
- Pharaoh777, on 10/12/2007, -18/+2So... to adequately plat this game I need...
Wii - $250
Game - $50
4 NDS - $520
____________
$820.00
Nice...- djruden, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Why do you need four? Do you have 4 sets of arms or something?
- skywake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7i dont know about 'plating' games... but to play it why would you need 4DS'?
a bit excessive....
look at it this way.
Think about the people who will be buying Pokemon Battle Revolution for the Wii. These people would already have a Wii, a DS and the Game on the DS. So.... in the end to add this experience on top of what they have they will only have to pay for the game. If you are going to add up everything at least add up everything. To play this game in the way intended you will need the game, one DS, one Wii, an internet connection to play online, electricity, a screen of some description, a copy of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl and a seat for sitting.
interestingly... after all of that. Its probably still less then a PS3. - sakuraz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4at least you don't need 4 cables like you did for GC....
god I still have them....
I only bought them for FF:CC....it was worth it....but it makes you depressed afterwards.
- micsab, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Sounds like the link-cable feature for next generation :P
- barc0001, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Except that you don't need to buy a link cable.. That'll let more people try out the DS-controller thing and it might become a relatively mainstream way to do things. We can hope, anyway. A programmable touch-screen controller sounds pretty cool for multiplayer games where you want to be able to privately review data and pick options without giving the opponents any clues.
- mbthompson, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1nice
- Moopy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0This would be a great thing to be able to play at the stores, but it's too bad that all the pokemon stadiumesque games really, really suck compared to the rest.
- brothersaul, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I seem to get the impression that the Wii is quickly becoming the sweet heart of tech savy gamers. All the time I am hearing that people plan on getting a the Wii and debating getting one of the other consoles with it. This is just another reason to go that route. Now if only I had vast sums of money to get all of the above.
- lbdwag, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1damnit. I knew it was coming... so for the next FF:CC to play (if there will be) multiplayer we're going to need 2 DS's.... hopefully there is an option to use the Advances...
- Lonecow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I wonder if I can use my DS to control Super NES games instead of the Cube controller, or having to buy the classic.
- smd31, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I wish they would do this for games like Madden '07 or other football/sports type games. The DS would be perfect for picking the play you want without the person seeing what play you pick.
- nstern2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Nfl 2k2 for the dreamcast did this. You could pick your play from the VMU.
- jzulli, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually, I think all of the Sega Sports Dreamcast games could do this.
- mrRB, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Well, duh.
Now, about the new Crystal Chronicles. - o0joshua0o, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1In the past, connectivity was touted as being the hot new thing, but it never really caught on due to the requirement to buy and hook up a bunch of unwieldy cables.
Now that everything will be simple, wireless, and will not require an additional expense, I'm expecting connectivity to be much more successful. - dslozak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I hope Nintendo uses this connectivity with a lot of games. The DS rocks, and to have those types of controls available for Wii games is awesome. Even if it something as simple as a second screen. For example an equip screen in Resident Evil.
- darryl242, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2I love it when Nintendo copies Sony... lots of joy.
- soccerboi00, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3lol, wtf are you talking about.
Does GBA and GCN connectivity ring a bell? - cam2009, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2heard of the gba connector for the gamecube? this story may be old, maybe even inaccurate, but they did not copy sony.
- soccerboi00, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3lol, wtf are you talking about.
- wisebob134, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2For a poke mon game it looks pretty good
- Splitt3rxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1damn, I wonder fi you will be able to download DS game trials through the wii, or maybe even mini games. It would be like teh VMU on dreamcast, only better.
- cozamonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0looks pretty cool. hope one of my friends gets this game
- tsuki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is old news.
