- datagod, on 11/09/2007, -8/+85In related news, sony execs have announced a new "green with envy" motif for the ps3.
Zing! - TonyBuzzan, on 10/12/2007, -18/+92I'm gonna buy all the wii colors, organize them into the gay pride rainbow and then send them to the author of this story.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+77If your Wii is red you might want to see a doctor.
- CornStarch, on 10/12/2007, -5/+70Dust magnet black for me.
- kkaabboomm, on 11/09/2007, -2/+56ummm, this is a ***** headline, as nintendo hasn't announced anything like that.
reggie stated in that big interview like a week or two ago in gamepro:
http://www.gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=94095
that new colors would be in the works, no doubt about it, but sometime after all the initial demand is met with the white wii right now. They can't make enough wii's to satisfy demand, so why diversify the production lines now when they can wait till the 2007 holiday season to release new colors and help boost demand again?
so yeah - this 'anonymous source tells us' ***** is crap, reggie himself has gone on record saying new colors were coming, just not right now. plus anyone with an IQ over 80 knows nintendo will release new colors for the wii, like they have for every other console in the past 10+ years. - skunkops, on 10/12/2007, -12/+60I want me Wii in yellow
/pun - asteron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+38Yeah, how is it possible for an anonymous source to "CONFIRM" anything? I mean by definition doesn't a 'confirmation' require some authority that is capable of being cited and referenced?
An anonymous source is antithetical to any type of confirmation since it is impossible to confirm the source. At best anonymous sources can produce rumours and nothing more. - abcdefghij, on 10/12/2007, -3/+34does the black wii come in different size? *drum n cymbal clash*
Thanks, I'll be here all week! - thegreenone, on 10/12/2007, -8/+29oh snap! Good one
- NeoRicen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21***** hell, an anonymous Nintendo rep can't confirm *****, this is just a ***** rumour!
- davidv, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17"In a rather shocking revelation..."
Wait, so you mean all those colored variations of their Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, 64, Gamecube, DS, and DS Lite were no indication of what might happen with the super hyped up Wii? Oh right, don't forget those wii'motes... - AdamTReineke, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Internet problems, double post. Digg down or make Kevin Rose add a delete button. ;-)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16Note to self:submit more Wii stories.
- calebhawk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14right next to barney
- AdamTReineke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Kinda funny how the in the picture, the consoles say Revolution. ;-) Old pic...
- Cojawfee, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12Do you buy pimple encrusted glasses to match your face?
- brokekneck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6no blue? with a diffrent color light?
- awa64, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Wow. It's like an accurate news article, only not!
- wiifan1975, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Black would make sense like the DS introductions. First white, then black. The red I could believe with all the Red Aids products that are being sold at the moment to support Africa, i.e. red iPod. But if these things won't stay on the shelves being just simply white, then why waste the money and time to change production efforts now? It makes no sense to make changes to the product now. But patience will be provided new colors soon enough.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+17Would be nice if they let you send your Wii in they would replace the plastic to the color of your choice instead of buying a new one.
- Wananah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This article begins with the phrase "a rather shocking revelation" only to end with the phrase "It comes as no surprise."
This post brought to you by the letters W, T, and F. - Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Agreed, who says the person sending it to them was a Nintendo rep? Heck who says there even was a rep and they didn't just make it up themselves? I've never heard of this site.
- autoverzekering, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I want a pink one!!
- MrMxyzptlk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I was totally shocked.
- reboare, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3How about 120 different designs. This is a stupid article, no digg for not googling wii skins...
http://www.decalgirl.com/browse.cfm?viewfrom=97&catid=233&step=2 - supermanred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Stop spamming digg with your web site!
Here's what we think of that:
http://digg.com/design/WORST_Web_Site_Spammed_On_Digg_EVER - burndive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@orlex
It's called a controller glove (though it's more of a condom). Just buy three, and leave one white. - dralezero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3And before the Wii came out they had pictures of different colors floating through the press kits and such. Give me the launch dates or prove they are in production and I'll digg.
- allisonaxe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3so long as i can buy the wiimotes in varying colors, i'm happy with my white wii.
(seriously, if everyone unstraps their wiimotes from their wrist at a wii bowling party, they all look the same unless you want to pay 15 bucks for one of those stupid gloves. we had to check whose Mii's were saved onto the controllers to know which was which. we NEED multi-colored controllers!) - nextgengames, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I know who these guys are and there spamming with stories which will get them to the frontpage. Digger Beware!!
- humanerror, on 04/03/2008, -1/+4Japanese dev kit Wiis are black. I've had a black wiimote and black nunchuk since before the commercial release. Pictures of it were included in the wiikly newsletter (wiikly.net) 2 months ago.
- TheMysteryCow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2More colors? How about they announce more units for retail? THAT'S what I'm looking forward to.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Get WW smooth Moves.... its fun and funny as all wario ware games.
- Omega697, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Press release or it didn't happen.
- Hellmark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2No digg here. An anonymous source on an unknown website does not mean anything is confirmed. Also it goes directly against what Reggie said this past week, where they would only release colors after satisfying demand, which they've not been able to do yet.
- everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2it was inevitable, the only question was when.
- seneyr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How is this confirmed? Anonymous source and no one else to back it up? C'mon...
- totorototoro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2what part of "confirmed" does this guy not understand?
- lordkosc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wish I could actually find a Wii to buy, heck i'd take it in orange or pink at this point, sigh..... the shelves are always empty......
- Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I seriously doubt people would buy more than one, unless they actually have two different locations to put it in, like maybe a summer home or something. However you comment makes me wonder if DVD capabilities could be added for a small fee as a download, like the browser. That way they still keep the system cost down and the people who want DVD playback can have it.
- RonAcierno, on 02/07/2008, -0/+1I wonder if the red is gonna be one of those Product(Red) things ...
- xenovis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is it just me or does anyone else think nintendo needs to focus on making more games. I would consider myself a moderate player and:
Wii sports was fun but didn't last more than a day.
Rayman took about 2 days to finish, and is a fun party game.
Metal Slug was great but took about 2 days to finish.
Zelda was great, beat it over Christmas, and I don't feel like playing it again.
Also don't feel like giving away 5 dollars for virtual games when I have the real thing down in my basement collecting dust, unable to trade them in for >1 cent.
Just my 2 cents, or about 20 NES games. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ummm... Does it matter what colours it comes in? And you guys really that shallow? (nah, im kidding)
Black would look cool, but I already have a white Wii and white DS, so Im sticking with white. And they will release black, eventually. When sales slow down in 2008 when we see the first real 'Nintendo Drought' for the Wii.
But on the other hand Sony's sales are slowing down so they better release a white one, so that the fanboys will go buy em. :P - Coffeedemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15 cent solution? Different coloured rubber bands ... they provide grip and you can tell the controllers apart. But don't let me stop you from spending ~$45 X 4 to colour coordinate your control setup.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1FTA: "figure out how that slot fed drive works"
Slot Fed CD drives have been around for decades, mostly in car stereos. So why are they so obsessed with this? - reckless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1guys, could we please negative digg my above comment a few more times? i'm trying to set a personal best.
- tooasianguys, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How is it "shocking" that Nintendo is coming out with different Wii colors? They did that last time with the Gamecube, and they've been doing it with their handhelds since the original Gameboy Advance. It's a simple sales strategy - take a product, and generate more sales after initial release by adding a new look for consumers. Not only will this get you some new buyers because they can now choose different colors, some of your current fanbase will go out and get some color other than the original because "they have to have it in (insert color here)".
This is Economics 101! - Texel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'll take Foghat Gray
- Elric1977, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow I never saw the Wii in Red or Black before.... and I never seen that it was balck when they unveiled the "Revolution" at E3 2005 either....
/sarcasm - darkmule, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The article seems pretty iffy to me. Good in theory, but not something that we can really "confirm'.
