- Lipongo, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Vertical is better.
- joeydoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It look like they got a screen cap of the castle in Bram Stoker's Dracula and put pretty basic lettering in the front.
Not tooooo impressed.

- somunny, on 10/12/2007, -9/+18Thanks for linking a site with six pop-up ads.
- stratmancj, on 10/12/2007, -3/+41use firefox ... i got no pop ups
- answer42, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Whats a pop up? I havent seen one in so long, I almost forgot they existed. Time to switch to Firefox
- acff, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4zero for me
- kithraya, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Not only did I get no popup windows thanks to FireFox, but the Adblock and Flashblock extensions kept all the annoying crap on the page from showing up at all.
- Zero2aHero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Firefox prevented this site from opening to 3 pop-up windows"
That is ridiculous.
- KingGoonie, on 10/12/2007, -19/+2Why the hell hasn't there been a Zelda game? If any game was screaming for one.. especially now after the success of Lord of the Rings...
I mean you can have a franchise in that... But the first should be Ocarina of Time.- somunny, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25"Why the hell hasn't there been a Zelda game?"
Where have you been? - djSyndrome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Because Nintendo doens't hate itself.
- EvilTesdall, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3errmm....you mean, Zelda movie right?
- xrisnothing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I think a Zelda movie would be incredibly lame. The things that make for great video games make for crap movies. I'm sure the magical ocarina would translate fabulously to the big screen...
If they really call this thing Dracula Begins... lametards... - DIGGAGE, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1You must be deaf dumb blind or retarded.
Wii give any hints?Zelda Tiwlight Princess?Look it up. - Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Maybe if it looked like this it'd be worth it ;)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Torg4VAtUhc - DangerMouse9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@Philbert for a second I thought you were going to link to the live action zelda game someone made where they ran around like a retard and went to the laundry room to get the blue armor or something lame like that.
As for a Zelda movie, they could only get one guy to direct/write/produce/and star in it, and that would be Uwe Boll. - fallenone05, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@djSyndrome
"Because Nintendo doens't hate itself."
Have you seen the Super Mario Movie??
- somunny, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25"Why the hell hasn't there been a Zelda game?"
- KingGoonie, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1my bad, lol, ZELDA MOVIE.
Vin Diesel would make a great Ganon I think.... and Julie Delpie for Zelda (since thats who Zelda looked like in Ocarina of Tiem)- optimo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Vin Diesel? You got to be joking, right. How about the lead role?
Come on, who just outs Vin Diesel, of all the ***** faces in the crowd.
Let's get Julia Roberts to play Navi, cuz she looks like a pixie N.e.way.
You make me laugh, but you make me cry. - jenoosia, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0I don't think I'd like to watch a Zelda movie with an er... "mature" actress playing Navi.
- Methodius, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17I would be amused endlessly by Julia Roberts running around chirping "Hey! Listen!!" every five seconds.
But who would play Link? And if you say Orlando Bloom, I will stab you in the jaw. - jenoosia, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7http://thor.mirtna.org/oddities/lookalikes/pics/link-01.jpg
- BritishGolgo13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If you believe Orlando would make a good Link then you meet me in the lobby, I'll be the guy stabbing jaws.
- crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"Well Excuuuuuuuse me, princess".
- Methodius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@BritishGolgo13
There aren't too many of us out there, are there?
- optimo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Vin Diesel? You got to be joking, right. How about the lead role?
- feeloow, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Please burry this multi-popup-alert-spyware page !

- Buga, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3How do you not have firefox?
- seaner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Mirror of image: http://5tags.com/tmp/castlevania.jpg
- Buga, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks for the Mirror, +1
- themurph2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I call shenanigans. If that were any more fake it would be Anna Nicole Smith
- mofo196, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Agreed. Who the hell would want to advertise they were involved with Resident Evil OR Aliens vs Predator? Obviously a fake.
- adamchristopher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Finally some sense in here. That poster is obviously fake, yet the first half of the posts are teaching a classes on how to install firefox and how to ruin the best game franchise ever by making a zelda movie.
Oh digg, how I miss ye.
- DanteDefiance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! /Vader
WHY GOD?! Paul W. is on par with Michel Bay as hack directors. I wish people would just leave the video game-movie thing alone. Video games do not translate well to the big screen. You can't take interactive entertainment and turn it in to something you do not interact with.- pumacub, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I think if done right, with the right mix of dark quiet creepiness, drama, and action, that Metroid could be a good movie.
- OneZeroZeroOne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Out of all the video game movies out there, I think Castlevania would have the best chance of actually not sucking completely. It's pretty hard to ***** up a vampire movie worse than they're already been ***** up.
Castlevania already has a great storyline and awesome characters. You're right though, Paul W. will destroy anything he gets his slimy hands on. It'd be great to see a legitimate director and cast working on this.
Unfortunately, it'll be some half-assed ***** and bull story that somehow involves an unrealistically beautiful woman living in 2010. She'll be descended from the Belmonts and will end up having to go back in time with her boyfriend (Brad Pitt) to rescue Simon when Alucard is awakened by a 10 year old boy accidentally uncovering his coffin (which for no reason at all is conveniently in his grandparent's basement)
I don't understand why directors find it SO hard to write a movie that stays true to the source material without camping it up and making it into a live action 2-bit cartoon. - DanteDefiance, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2See the thing with the Castlevania series is that there is no real story. It's one of those games like Zelda or Mario where it's really about the gameplay and the story stakes a backseat. How the ***** do you make a movie out of that?
In comparison Uwe Boll was given the Bloodrayne franchise which had all the ground work laid out, story, characters, time period..etc. Yet he STILL managed to make a steaming pile of horse hooey - OneZeroZeroOne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Dante:
The Castlevania series is about a war between the enchanted family bloodline of the Belmonts and Dracula. Almost every hundred years, Dracula is resurrected and it is up to the Belmonts to defeat him before he unleashes his wrath on the entire world.
Original NES Castlevania Logo
The most notable Belmont is perhaps Simon Belmont, star of the first several Castlevania games. However, the games feature many other characters, including Belmonts, relatives and other people that the player can control. Included among the usable characters is Adrian Fahrenheit Tepes, also known as Alucard, the son of Dracula himself. Also, several female characters star in some of the later games. See Castlevania characters for more information about the characters of Castlevania.
The series is loosely based on Bram Stoker's novel Dracula. In fact, the novel is included in the official timeline of the series, with Castlevania: Bloodlines taking place shortly afterwards. The connection even goes as far as to claim that Quincy Morris, a character from the novel who lands the final blow against Dracula at the cost of his own life, is in fact a Belmont descendant. Morris is also said to have a son, John and grandson, Jonathan, who star in Bloodlines and Portrait of Ruin, respectively. The series also incorporates a variety of other creatures from classic horror fiction, films, fantasy, and mythology. These monsters serve to obstruct the path to Dracula but are rarely tied to the game's plot.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castlevania - vhold, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think a Metroid movie would be particularly impossible because the main character never talks and she is always totally alone.
It could be done, but for it to even remotely feel like Metroid, it'd have to be a very unusual movie. - DanteDefiance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Well I just got owned ;)

They did it with Doom...
- triplexpac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4That poster looks so fake. It obviously needs more bevel & emboss
- davegins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wes Anderson should be making this movie, not Paul WS Anderson. You know Luke Wilson would be a kick ass Belmont.
- joaob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bevel's and embossing in the 2000's?
Obviously fake. Marked appropriately. - marning2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Castlevania should be spell with a lower case "v". ^^
- bwishey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Replied to the wrong guy... *oops*
Bury please!
- bwishey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Replied to the wrong guy... *oops*
- acff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i was just thinking the other day, after reading an article about the halo movie, that castlevania should have already been made a movie. anyway, is this real?
other video game to movies that i would watch:
warcraft/starcraft/diablo (blizzards CGI team can do this)
zelda
mechwarrior
tetris- sctechguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Tetris? 0_o How would that work?
- bwishey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Penny Arcade had a comic about a Tetris movie :)
http://www.crisdias.com/img/tetrisTheMovie.jpg
"See the new shape of fear"
And a live action World of Warcraft is already in the works.

- ahhell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thank god this isn't another Uwe Boll abortion.
Although, it will probably suck anyways (Paul Anderson!?!??!).
Barf. - painting, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3I WONDER IF THEY'RE GOING TO MAKE A VIDEO GAME OF IT OR SOMETHING!
- trapt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1rofl my ass off
- rhesuspieces00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Do you really want to mention "Alien vs. Predator" on your game adaptation movie poster? AvP was just about the biggest let down in the history of comic book adaptations. Absolutely abysmal.
- DanteDefiance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Seriously!
I mean Aliens VS ***** Predator! That just sounds like monster movie of the century! All he had to to was set up a VERY basic story for these two to meet up, and the let them go at it for two hours. - Karyyk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1On the other hand, the comics and games were great. The original Alien vs. Predator on the Atari Jaguar still holds a special place for me...great game.
- DanteDefiance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Seriously!
- koonchu, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1OMFGTTFNROFL!!!
They used the Blood Rayne font!!!!
it's d00m3d!! - rhthekida, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dracula Begins? This has to be some kind of cruel joke. Anderson even said that in an interview. He was thinking of this movie to start Dracula the way that Batman Begins did it for Batman...except wait, Paul W.S. Anderson compared to Christopher Nolan? Another video game license ruined by Hollywood. My only hope is there is some kind of freak accident in which the lives of Anderson, Michael Bay, and Uwe Boll are taken, Science Willing.
- sctechguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Unfortunately, this movie is real, and is being directed by Anderson: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0488982/
Oh, and to make matters even worse, Anderson is also writing the script as well. - tont0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You shouldnt 'brag' on the poster about being the director of Aliens Vs Predator
- voltron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Agree on him being on par with Michael Bay, the ass clown prince of all movie directors.
- GreenPlastik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I believe that title is already held for life by Uwe Boll. How that guy keeps getting funding is beyond me.
- vhold, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Hey.. it's in a castle, and it's in Transylvania (presumably because of vampires) so.. Castlevania!
- mult1task, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The poster looks fake.
- jsls, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That poster sucks!!!
- sidebuster, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I thoroughly enjoyed Resident Evil and AvP. I took them for what they were, B grade movies. I wasn't all "Joey ***** film critic" while watching them either. Doing that can make any movie suck ass.
- dan0368, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't think anyone was expecting an epic film, just something decent.
- pixel_jockey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That poster is garbage if it is real.... looks like fanboy art
and ALSO looks alot like the Haunting see for yourself:
http://www.impawards.com/1999/haunting_ver1.html - Guye, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Am I the only one who likes the poster? I mean, it could be A LOT worse...
Can't really go wrong with the castle on the hill for a Castlevania movie poster.
Course, I'm not saying the movie will be any good...
Its weird, if you listen to Anderson talk about game adaptations, he sounds like he knows what he's doing. I think the problem is he caves easily under studio pressure and lets the suits run his films.- LostInTheWired, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like the poster myself. It's art people. There is a meaning to it. The dark castle on the peak of a hill, edge of a steep cliff. Ominous towers too. It is supposed to show the abomination of everything eternallly evil. The castle is never gone forever. Dracula may die, but the castle will return, and bring Dracula and it's undead army with it. It is a symbol of the core of evil being the castle itself and everything in it. It's fantastic in my opinion. People just don't think about the artistic value of it.
I'll watch it. I'll probably like it too. Castlevania: SOTN is my favorite game and it's hard to match, but this movie can pay tribute. That is a fantastic footing already. People just see games as trying to turn a game itself into something cinimatic. That is not the case. It is taking the emplaced game world and adapting and changing it to make it its own piece of art, not just some mild adaptation of the game story.

- DangerMouse9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I really hope this movie has cheesy 80s effects for the monsters, and the sound effects straight out of the 8-bit goodness. If so, this will be an awesome movie to get when it comes out on DVD and have some drinks to. :)
If anything, you can make a drinking game out of seeing this movie.
It's got to be better than Snakes on a Plane, so I'm stoked about this movie. - MadOgre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Every time they make a new videogame movie... a small part of me dies.
- stealthboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I think the *only* good game->movie translation was "Clue". All others have completely sucked.
- mandarin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Mortal Kombat was good.
- ka0tic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is gonna be another Bloodrayne.
