- Paroparo, on 10/12/2007, -11/+77Oh hell frigging yes. Guitar Hero is not only an excellent game for gamers, but has insane appeal to non-gamers. Heck, I heard a bunch of physical education students discussing how awesome it was in the queue to the university cafeteria the other day. These guys are the closest equivalent we have to the traditional American jock, so you can guess how surprised I was.
- Hellion, on 10/12/2007, -6/+71Heh. Rock out with your Wii out.
- G-RaZoR, on 10/12/2007, -8/+70Is it wrong to just say 'woot!" ?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+60I actually work at Nintendo and I know "foxhaze" is just mad because we don't have plans to release a "buttplug" peripheral. Yet he still sends us mail every week to ask when we're going to do it along with crude hand-drawn design plans.
- gweedo767, on 10/12/2007, -2/+50Probably? We had better freaking get a guitar controller. If we don't what is the point?
Now, hopefully they just let you slide the remote into it somewhere and it uses the wireless and battery off the remote. It would make the guitar a lot cheaper to manufacturer (like the Classic Controller). - shakin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+43They can use motion detection to tell if you're rocking hard enough or not. If the guitar is just sitting on your lap then you lose. You've got to be rocking and jumping all over the room to win!
- Paroparo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+40What, there are too many available for your tastes at the moment?
- timpkmn89, on 10/12/2007, -2/+32Fiscal year '08 begins April 1st 2007
- ldkronos, on 10/12/2007, -5/+30Breaking Exclusive: This just in - Lame titles suck!
- Dainjah, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26Trombone Hero? Can use the nunchuck as the slide..
- KissTheRing, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26Why not rock out to 'Clarinet Hero'
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+28Oh god, now we're going to get stories of geeks attempting the "guitar spin" technique and putting the Guitar Hero controller through their TV.
- KissTheRing, on 10/12/2007, -3/+24I'm with you on that tialys, I call for a grease monkey script that will remove overly dramatic buzz words from Digg article titles such as 'Breaking', 'Exclusive', or 'This Just In'.
- jhubsch1, on 10/12/2007, -11/+31Marked as Inaccurate for the word BREAKING in the title, as I will do for all stories that do this crap.
- canti32, on 10/12/2007, -14/+33This is going to kick so much ass on the Wii. I wonder what they will use the wiimote speaker for though.
- hppypnts, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22I just hope they use different songs from GH1 and 2 on PS2, and make the song selection more like 1 and less like 2 =)
- Tialys, on 10/12/2007, -12/+30Great news, however... this is not 'Breaking.' There are no further developments coming any time in the immediate future, and nothing is currently 'happening' to this news. Dugg down.
- Jwoey, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Ok so, ive never played guitar hero.. but.
From what ive heard, even people who play real guitars enjoy guitar hero.
You like flight simulator? Why not buy a jet and learn how to really fly?
its just a silly comment. - Coffeedemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Comment Bandwagon Hero!!!
- cheech_sp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Cow Bell Hero!
- Unclekoolaid, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16Harp Hero FTW!
- canewediggit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12wouldn't the wiimote and nunchuk be perfectly suited to drum-sticks? somebody make this happen!
- ReCkLeSsX, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14I don't think there will be a difference than Guitar Hero on the PS2.
Plus they'll probably use a peripheral, not the Wii Remote. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15GH got me back to console gaming...I love it!
- HeatVision, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12"Breaking" should only be used for hard news that truly is breaking, i.e. Amber Alerts, earthquakes, chemical plant explosions, etc.
- Fragility, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Yea, one can definitely wonder if they will use the Wiimote and Nunchuk. Doubtful though, we'll probably get a Guitar Controller instead. Which isn't a bad thing.
- fishinjim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9dugg down for being the bajillionth person to say you are digging down the article for using the word "breaking". in a new thread no less.
/kind of ironic if you think about it - mrtorok, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11So is this still BREAKING?
- protogenxl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9God I hope they have Nintendo theme songs like Super Mario and the Zelda over-world theme
- rsalsman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7@NeilSkoglund
Not that I'm saying Guitar Hero is similar to playing a real guitar, but at least get your facts straight about the game itself. There are 5 buttons (not 4), there is a whammy bar, and you can do hammer ons and pull offs. Some people have no desire to learn a musical instrument, and with Guitar Hero you can pick up and play a lot of your favorite songs instantly. Instead of claiming it as for lazy people, you should respect it for bringing a greater interest in music to a much broader group of people. - AhrenBa, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Yes!! This is one game that I was really hoping would come to the Wii. I guess I got my wish! :)
- danielsan79, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I recommend this game to actual guitar players almost more than the casual gamer. I just recently played the game for the first time and had the same mindset. "The game is probably stupid, I already play real guitar". The Fisher Price guitar didn't help matters any.
After 5 minutes I was hooked. Honestly, it might be more fun and satisfying than actually playing the guitar. Give it a try musicians, you'll love it. - android8675, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Guitar Hero inspired me to pick up a IRL™ Guitar... Guitar Hero is easier, and I can rock out pretty hard now, but I'm not giving up on the other Guitar.
Seems to me that GH actually encourages more real axe grinding, so assuming you play jayscot, and assuming you make some of your living in a "band" of some sorts, and assuming the market for High School Cover bands is as flooded as I think it is, you might consider telling people this game rocks and it's better than IRL™. Ya know? Keep them away from your bread and butter - Pow3rbook, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11Yes!!! I was debating getting a 360 over this lol.
- lbeaty1981, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Rayman has several games where the wii-mote and nunchuck are used like drumsticks. Once you get the hang of it, it works out pretty well.
- vSanity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Is anyone else hoping for a guitar that plugs into the wiimote, so it is wireless and cheap (since all the expensive bluetooth stuff is in the wiimote already)?
- josegutz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7The 360 will not support wireless or aftermarket guitars. Note to self...
- motang, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6@GeorgePBurdell Too bad it's not a wireless guitar as Microsoft didn't want to disclose the wireless technology to Activision so that they could make a wireless guitar.
- dpcdomino, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11ADD BIT
(Always Digg Down BREAKING In Topic)
Its a new movement... - ratbear, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7You just lost some of our fanboy status. Apparently the employees at Nintendo think that Ninty is an extremely faggy nickname.
- ZennZero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Yes, I am afraid we may have a while to wait on the Wii version. He mentions it when talking about fiscal year 08. When does their fiscal year end? Sept 30?
- Durrok, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Remember: No stairway.
Your mom does not count as a fan.
If your audience wants an encore never "just jam." - Sethbacca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Best idea.... EVER!
- skankyBacon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"guitar ftw guitar hero is for people who are to lazy to learn how to play a real guitar."
Or it's for people who like fun games. Wii Sports golf is fun, but it doesn't mean I'm too lazy to play real golf. It just means I'd rather not drive to a range every time, pay for lessons (with both money and time), and pay every time I want to play. I'm definitely going to check out GH; not because I want to learn guitar and this will give me a shortcut, but because it looks like fun. Now we're all so proud that you can play the guitar, but STFU. - smarch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6To everyone out there that plays real guitar: We are all very proud of you.
and yes, guitar hero is amazing for everyone. - toekneebullard, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I've been obsessed with GH 1 and 2, but only having an Xbox, haven't gotten play either anywhere but in a store. I've been waiting for this news, and GH being on the Wii just guarantees I'll be buying one.
- turrican, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hurdy Gurdy hero. That's what I'm talkin' about.
- Dejital, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Fiscal 2008?! ****!!!
- profOblivion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I agree with you for the most part... but you don't make a rhythm game rated M either.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Interesting to see if there's any extra use of motion other than the inclinometer switch. Otherwise, just expanding their market.
