- chocobomog, on 11/07/2007, -2/+365Title is a little misleading. He was mad about many things, the biggest being kicked out of his parents house after getting in a fight with his parents for dropping out of school. The Playstation was only mentioned once and was in a list of "typical" punishments the parents tried before kicking him out.
- b33b3s, on 11/08/2007, -7/+318In less than a week the face punching Halo 3 kid has already been upstaged. What next, genocide over a confiscated Wii?
- Gonz037, on 11/08/2007, -7/+248Oh noes! Halo caust?
- petebert, on 11/09/2007, -2/+125where does a 16 year old find a hitman? I'm 29 and I'm not sure where to find one at.
- norman619, on 11/06/2007, -1/+113How dare you actually READ the article! You must be new.
- ahnonamis, on 11/07/2007, -9/+112Too bad the positive things gamers do never get as much publicity. Oh well, that's the way the media works.
- footfwd, on 11/07/2007, -1/+95Damn, with a name like Joey Troiano your bound to have someone hire a hit man on you some day...
- webcure, on 11/06/2007, -5/+88Something is fishy. Ok, the kid was having some serious problems. But this statement is too weird.
"He has also been writing to his mother, saying: “You know I love you with all my heart mom!” Mrs Troiano fears that he is being manipulative. She wanted him tried in an adult court where he would have faced a much longer sentence. He needs to understand what he did was wrong”.
I don't know, it doesn't sound like a normal family to me. - DangerMouse9, on 11/07/2007, -4/+75If you read the ***** article it said he was pissed that he was kicked out of the house for stealing $45 from his sister. It didn't really say anything about the playstation punishment. The ***** douche that wrote the title was just trying to get it dugg to the front page by ***** that can't read more than the headline.
To all those posting sensationalistic headlines to try to garner front page stories "Knock it the ***** off, we get enough of that ***** crap everywhere else." - badassninja, on 11/07/2007, -0/+70The playstation had nothing to do with this. Any kid that would hire a hit man is too ***** up. And you have to at lest some what blame mom and dad for doing a piss poor job of raising him.
- Lasereth, on 11/07/2007, -0/+67Buried as inaccurate -- the playstation had nothing to do with the hiring of the hitman, sensationalism 1000x
- Drahkar, on 11/07/2007, -3/+59This is plain stupid. Buried as inaccurate. The whole thing has nothing to do with a playstation. He was hiring a hitman because she kicked him out of the house.

//futurama ftw - zachshmack, on 11/06/2007, -1/+30Video games don't cause people to be sociopaths. Have you considered that sociopaths like video games because it means they don't have to deal with people?

- Xondar, on 11/06/2007, -0/+26Psychopaths often feign emotion to get the better of people.
- whatthefu, on 11/07/2007, -6/+32He should've gotten Agent 47 to help him out.
- Shrubber, on 11/06/2007, -3/+29Wait...did the kid just start hunting around and looking for a hitman, and THEN the police arranged a sting operation? Because it sounds to me like the police almost baited him into this. He knew full well what he was doing, but it does sound to me like they might have prodded him a little to much. For that reason, I think they should charge him as a juvenile. Five years is enough time to smack some sense into him if they get him the right help.
- blackmage439, on 11/08/2007, -7/+32That is one sick and disturbed person. Kudos for the mom for finally getting her head out of her ass and turning the kid in to the proper authorities.
- dondara, on 11/06/2007, -1/+24What hitman? Just call FBI and say you think so and so is a terrorist. Zip! Problem gone. No blood on your hands and they get a glow stick in the ass for pissing you off.
- SquigglyP, on 11/06/2007, -2/+24neither of you *****, nor the ***** digging you up, read the ***** article, did you?
- smasho, on 11/08/2007, -2/+23World War Wii
- Frei, on 11/06/2007, -0/+20I agree that it doesn't seem to add up. The kid and parent don't get along and fight, got it. But then the mother and a neighbor call the police, bring the kid to a hotel and ask him if he'd (a 16 year old) would like to HIRE a hitman. I hope I'm missing something here. Would this kid have gone this far without those two pushing him into the hotel room.
- dudefather, on 11/06/2007, -0/+20Too bad the positive things (any social group, organization, object, sentient being) do never get as much publicity. Oh well, that's the way the media works. fixed
- BobaFettTDG, on 11/07/2007, -0/+20I don't know who's crazier, the kid for trying to hire a hitman or the mom for getting a cop to pose as one. I have a sneaking feeling that we're not getting the whole story here.
- BlackJackJester, on 11/06/2007, -0/+19I think, if I was a real hitman called by a 16 year old to rub out his parents, i'd have to sit down with him and have a little heart to heart.
- Bakkster, on 11/06/2007, -1/+19Child's Play just started up again for this year. We should see some positive press out again.
- kds405, on 11/07/2007, -2/+20Hit men have no hearts. That's why they are hit men and not guidance counselors.
- linkthewarrior, on 11/07/2007, -0/+18The sad part about this is people looking to blame this violence over video games (Jack Thompson) see this as proof as to why video games are corrupting the youth. When in fact there are plenty of other signs as to why this had happened. Take his parents getting a divorce, a new step father. This kid obviously had other problems than his mother grounding him for a few weeks.
- handsoffme, on 11/06/2007, -2/+19learn to use google bro.
- jxfallout, on 11/06/2007, -1/+18Wait, so now something's wrong in that a mother is terrified of her kid after he attempted to have her killed? What would you do if your child was caught in the act of hiring someone to kill you?
- dondara, on 11/06/2007, -1/+17Did they ever just sit down with the kid, turn off the tv, get off the phone and hit him?
- TitanX13, on 11/06/2007, -2/+18not to mention not making it into art school
- toast1226, on 11/06/2007, -1/+16I had a situation with my sister where she got into a huge rage and was pounding on my door with a knife and sliding the knife under it. At the time I was terrified and thought she was trying to kill me so I called the cops and they arrested her -- for a long time I didn't even want to see her or vice versa. But when I had to give my statement to my attorney about what I thought of the situation I told them I didn't want her to get a felony record from the incident. I didn't want it to happen again but I felt her life would be ruined if she had the maximum punishment.
From my experience, I can easily understand why the mother would want him sentenced for a long time. - Sifl, on 11/06/2007, -0/+15Sounds like something Cartman would do.

- Nougat, on 11/06/2007, -0/+14And a couple generations ago, people like you used to talk about how horrible comic books were.
- Cyber_Akuma, on 11/06/2007, -2/+16Still dosent change the fact how screwed up it is that a child is trying to call a hit on his PARENTS.

- flip, on 11/06/2007, -6/+19No matter what type of sugar coating they try to put on this.
THE PARENTS (MOTHER) IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS KIDS BEHAVIOR.
After reading this article there's all kinds of information pointing to her being an ill equipped and poor parent
Her child's behavior is nothing more than the result of her past interactions with him.
The heavy handed advise from law enforcement and her decision to go along with it
- just is the icing on the cake that will leave this kid with a dead end for the rest of his life.
in my opinion, the mother should have already served some time for mental and physical abuse on your young(er) son. - toxicshok, on 11/06/2007, -0/+12Joey "the clown" Troiano
- SquigglyP, on 11/07/2007, -1/+13yes.
