- cpirate, on 11/11/2007, -5/+50"I dont see whats so big about black"
So many ways to go:
1. Been awhile since you've seen a porno?
2. Your Girlfriend/Wife does.
3. Wait till you get to prison. - aegis9975, on 10/12/2007, -4/+43>>Ah, now the 360 will look EXACTLY like the Dell Optiplex. Brilliant!
Pictures: Optiplex vs 360 (white). . . Judge for yourself

- mrfreeziexp, on 10/12/2007, -3/+39You must be a whiz in your music theory class, mc1123.
- thatsmyaibo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+35"TEH SEX? Do you mean... looks like an ugly PS3? Actually looks a lot like those black boxes planes have."
Uhhh, black boxes are actually orange. Don't let the name misinform you which will in turn, misinform everyone else because you compare it to an XBOX 360. - ExSlashdotter, on 10/12/2007, -5/+34@skyhighrockets
Where have you been this week? You use it to fold! - BradGroux, on 10/12/2007, -19/+48TEH SEX... too bad it won't match my white HD-DVD drive, doh! Vista Media Extender + 120GB hard drive is going to be awesome too... Apple TV what?
- AdamTReineke, on 10/12/2007, -5/+33Back in black. :-)
- skyhighrockets, on 10/12/2007, -14/+41And then what do you do with your PS3?
Stare at it, waiting for good games to come out? - securitymonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28Note to sneaky picture takers:
Turn the data/time stamp off BEFORE taking covert pictures.
"Hey Fred, who was in the factory 02/14/2007 at 10:50 hours?" - mc1123, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Not defending Halo by digging you down, but buying any system for only one game isn't a very good idea.
- mtownand1, on 10/12/2007, -6/+24how is this different from anything else in consumer electronics? There is always something better on its way. you can wait forever to buy or enjoy what you've got. i understand it sucks when something is updated shortly after you bought it, but they've gotta update sometime.
- JoCliMe, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20Got any spray paint?
- TonyCubed, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19You found a PS3 20GB model?
- JagoX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15...just upgrade the HDD in the PS3. Of all the faults that the PS3 has, the BIGGEST thing it has over the 360 is that the HDD can be upgraded with VERY little effort.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Remember not to use spray paint in-doors kids, you'll end up spitting the color of the can you're using for a week. *coughs*
- isewise, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15So I think this is officially the worst kept secret in recent memory passing Sony's Home and Assassins Creed.
- handheldchimp, on 10/12/2007, -6/+18yes...yes u were...lol
- fmcivic16si, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Where is the picture of the HDMI port in the back?
- CAPSLOCKISCOOL, on 10/12/2007, -11/+21Am I the only one who thought that the Xbox 360 spy was shot by microsoft when I read the title?
- swgc5, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Ugly, white is much better for the 360.
- kcpwnsgman, on 10/12/2007, -8/+17racist
- ScarHawk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Am I the only one that thinks it looks like a slimmed down glorified optiplex? I mean its cool, but its not "spend extra money on it" cool, unless you will really need the extra space.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10@ImTheDarkcyde
It does VLC360, Tiversity360, Transcode360 all stream every format to your Xbox60 Media Extender without issue
Nice try at a failed attempt at bashing the 360 though - RestlessDream, on 10/12/2007, -2/+82/14, must be a BIG xbox360 LOVER~
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11Pwn. Getting one of these day one.
- dheaddy, on 10/12/2007, -8/+12I'm glad they didn't go with the ultra-glossy black and opted for matt
- tooasianguys, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10not just consumer electronics, but most things. you don't complain every fall when the new model year cars roll out do you? did you curse Canon for releasing the 8 megapixel version of your 7 megapixel camera? this is just the way things go. what you buy today will (hopefully) be improved upon and then released tomorrow.
You heard all the noise about the new black Xbox 360, so maybe you should've waited. MS didn't make you go out and buy a console 1 month ago. You chose to.
If as you say, you're not willing to pay $180 more for the Elite with its 120GB HD, then what is your complaint anyways? You already own the system you are willing to pay for. - Malhavoc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I'm curious if there is anyone out there that already owns a 360 that is planning to pick one of these up. I would really like one, but doing the math, I would at best end up paying about $680 for a 360 (360 + "Elite 360" - Trade-In). That number is assuming I can get $200 for my 360 from Gamestop/EB.
- iStunT, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9all i can say is... WHITE FTW... black looks kinda nasty.. cant picture it looking good in my room
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4
Great news. I'm going to buy a black one to go with my white one. I just hope the black one doesn't rape the white one. I think it's great that we have a choice to buy 3 different console SKU's. I'm also going to buy the Extreme edition 6 months from now with the HD-DVD. - insanegodfather, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I understand the Microsoft's economical standpoint with this new release, they will end up creating more hype, boosting sales, but they are going to piss many of people off, which could potentialy cause people to defect to the ps3 and the wii, Microsoft could be making a blunder here, my trust is shaken.
- evilspell, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5This should have a HDDVD drive!!
- fallenone05, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It's not shiny...kinda fugly
- ezweave, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8Maybe math(s) is different where you are from, but the 360 Premium is $399 and if the Elite will be $479... that would be an $80 difference.
I mean, you know, addition/subtraction of decimal numbers and all. - skyhighrockets, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6"Where have you been this week? You use it to fold!"
Sorry, I was too busy playing Gears of War on my 360. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Or?
You could Photoshop it black
WOW, no need for risk-taking photos! - jacksons98, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@m00nstone I agree for essentially the same price you'd be way better off getting the PS3.
- ku16610, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Sorry why is this such great news , i personally feel pissed that ms didn't do this in the first place and fobbed me off with a 20 gb drive for a cost of approx 80 pounds when i could buy a 250 gb drive for 60 pounds , and get to use more than 13 gb of it.
So excited as i am that they can rip us off again with a 40 pound at max worth drive , which will prolly retail on its own in shops for say 160 pounds.
seems like a massive rip as usual just like vista at its 350 uk price for ulitimate - jacksons98, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@skyhighrockets
Oh sorry I was busy playing Virtual Fighter 5, Motorstorm and F1 this week on my PS3. What games have you had since Christmas?? chirp chirp - handheldchimp, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5...Im just gonna buy the new one and have my old one around for lans...
- DEEP_NNN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm an April fools dude from another topic. Yeah, I'll be the fool if this is "all" true. But then again, if I'm correct, I'll be a minority of snobs lording it over the rest of you. No offense meant. :) I don't have the time to lord it over anyone.
I'm still very suspicious why such a "possible" product would be kept secret for so long that it is already assembled and ready for shipping before a press release or advertising. It doesn't make sense unless these are commercial/testbed products. Another possibility is these are actually testbed products that won't be released until next fall/winter. Now that makes a little bit of sense.
We'll soon know I suppose. - mavranos, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Jeez relax buddy, you'll blow an o-ring.
It's not out yet. Enjoy your 360- it has all the same functionality minus the larger HD and HDMI. - DEEP_NNN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm the goat on this one. lol
Anyone read these old topics? - Makiyura, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Those look awesome, i must have one! nice job MS, Xbox360 looking more badass now! GG!
- Massif, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3@ezweave - I think he's talking about the price it would cost him to buy the separate 120GB hard drive which is going to be $180.
- mavranos, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3"Always bet on black"
- smokespliffz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1No, it's never actually been confirmed, there was a response from one of the developers to a question regarding HDMI developer support but this was taken out of context and rumour exploded. There has not been an official press release or any sort of announcement from Microsoft themselves.
I mean come on, there aren't any high quality pictures of the Xbox 360 with the HDMI or the actual hard drive, this is just all rumour, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. Even if HDMI is coming it's very unlikely it will affect your gameplay at all in any way or shape.
Also if this is about 1080p let me just clarify the matter. The Xbox 360 has the needed built-in scaler that will scale the output to any resolution you need. In the case of HDTVs that only support 1080i, the game might render to an internal 720p frame buffer, but the output scaler will scale that output up to a 1080i signal that your HDTV can display.
So if your TV supports 1080p and a game has been released which states 1080p (hypothetically speaking) as the recommended resolution, then you can view this in HD 1080p without even worrying about any loss of quality (unless your cables are stretched miles apart) whether it's HDMI, Component or VGA. VGA in itself produced high quality high resolution. (My HDTV supports VGA, HDMI as well as Component).
What if the game is 720p/1080p and your TV only supports 720p? or 1080i? Well the Xbox 360 can easily adapt as it has the built-in scaler.
So what I'm trying to say is, there really isn't a problem with this and there's no need for major panic. You will NOT loose anything. Digital and Analogue both have their advantages and disadvantages, but your human eye will not notice them. The only big deal after the latter is the 120 GB Hard Drive which will no doubt come and will no doubt be external. So what, buy it and stick it in your Xbox 360. (Alternatively you can dissasemble and replace the existing drive with higher capacity using Norton Ghost but I won't explain this here). - jasonbirring, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ok so what if xbox 360 elite has 120 gig HD, "Largest hard drive available on any console" you can upgrade ps3's HD easy, i have a 500 gig hd in there right now. They should have included built-in wifi and hd-dvd player...tools.
