- MrBabyMan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+30The in-game songs are great, but the orchestral score is also phenomenal. Kudos to composer Garry Schyman. You can download the whole score here:

Everyone says the DVD format is too small, and that look at Blu-Ray, their games have used so much space. And we keep seeing that even though they use all that space, they're not giving anything better. Perhaps Sony is pressuring them to fill the discs to validate the transition lol.
- Bricks, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12I'm not into the Moby remixes. But when I heard the violins doing "Beyond the Sea" at the start of the game, I was intrigued, and almost got chills. When I heard The Inkspots a few rooms later... I knew they did their homework, and I was 100% hooked.
- ladon86, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9I liked the music ingame, but those audio clips sounded like crappy crappy doodle!
- xXShadowstormXx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6And Last.fm users, make sure you properly tag them before playing.
- Karkian, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6You're getting a new big daddy and a printed version of the art book as compensation. Poor you.
- spyrochaete, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Sid Meier's Railroads is fairly new and comes on one CD. It uses the Civ 4 engine and looks gorgeous.
Will Wright employed many talented coders from the demo scene to help create procedurally generated textures and logic for Spore. This will vastly reduce the storage space needed (at the cost of more CPU usage).
The new Sam and Max series is made up of six 80MB episodes and it looks fantastic.
Don't judge a book by its cover. - jonnyeh, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5That's cool, but it's not what their talking about. They're talking about the EP that came with the limited edition
- spudnic, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Always thought it was a bizarre argument anyway. Doesn't fit on one DVD? Fine, use two.
- coheedcollapse, on 10/10/2007, -8/+12You know you're lame when you bring up negative points about the PS3 in stories that have absolutely nothing to do with the console.
- inajeep, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Music is very important in games it set's the mood and helps give you the immersion that makes a great game greater.
Halo has fantastic music, Kingdom Hearts also fantastic. I have both CDs and listen to them often. The little 3 song CD that came w/ the SE version in Bioshock was pretty good. The Moby stuff is a little too sweet for me but the Little Sister song is wonderful. - shadowcode, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I wish that someone would release an album with all the music (I mean the real, licensed(?) musics).
- revenge7, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Anyone know where I can find the version of "Under the Sea" that is played the first time you get into the bathysphere?
- TheNik, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Yeah, I wasn't too impressed, but the score was fantastic. I'd love to get the sheet music for some of that stuff.
- adh3isive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Come back when you get some money, buddy!
- octophobic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2My Big Daddy's kneecap is busted but I think it's intentional. (^_^)
- revenge7, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2"My daddy is smarter than Einstein, faster than Hercules, and can light a fire with a snap of his finger. Are you as good as my daddy, mister? Not if you don't visit the Gatherer's Garden, you aren't!"
How close am I to the real quote? - octophobic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Closer than I was anyway!
- octophobic, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2They did a great job with sound overall. The guy who says, "Jesus Loves me this I know.. for the bible tells me so..." is fairly creepy. The Gatherer's Garden advert, "Is YOUR Daddy as good as MY Daddy?" adds more detail to the Little Sister story.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -5/+6Torrents of the full songs?
- orangester, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1What about Fly Me To The Moon by Sinatra?
- McTendo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Na, I'd rather block and forget. No worries. :)
- LowROI, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1"If I didn't care" reminded me of The Shawshank Redemption right away.
- Rabid_Llama, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The bundled soundtrack CD sucks, the real gold is in the 40's music in the game itself. I was extremely disappointed when I found out that's what the CD was (and, in fact, it's what caused me to not get the limited edition).
Also, from the article: "Those who've played the game will enjoy the Little Sisters reference (those types of mobs are a major factor in the game), but as a standalone musical composition there's not much to hang onto."
Did she seriously use the word "mob"? As in, old MUD/Everquest slang for monster (movable object)? Wow. I don't know if that's cool or so far behind the times that it's lame. - innocentsinner, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Stronger than Hercules
- volacide, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Fool, the only reason Heavenly Sword has so space taken up by audio is because PS3 games are multi-region and every single language option is available on them. Heavenly Sword has a ton of different language options and therefore a ton of space dedicated to that audio.
Do your homework. - wafflesomd, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1MGS theme > Any track in Bioshock.
- maguro89, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Well I suppose this is one more reason to love Bioshock.
- Quakes, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4The transition will not be immediate. But can you see a game with current gen graphics on a CD nowadays?
Perhaps it's a bit early for the increased storage to really matter, but it does give developers the freedom of putting as much as they want on the discs after all. - LordSlashstab55, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Welcome to a circus of value!
- untitlednet, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Would you kindly?
- UnkelJethro, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Someone who knows the difference between the score and the soundtrack (BFD BioShock you bought some songs none of these tweens have heard yet), and offers up the score without being asked. I knew if I invested a few years in this here internet I'd find intelligent life.
- gordie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Like it very much. Pleased to hear Mario Lanza singing Danny Boy.
- PAPAsoMEAN, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0go listen to the theme in agon wastes
- rockrapdude, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1I got the special edition too. Shame is that it's only 3 tracks. And they broke my Big Daddy too.
- rockrapdude, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1YEY!
- nonymous666, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1I hear no music in the game or even any ambient background noise. I get all other sound effects, though - weapons, splicers, vending machines, etc
I've seen a few youtube videos showing gameplay footage and notice some of them are the same as me - no 40's music coming out of the wall speakers or background sounds. I bet these of people don't even know their missing it.
But I'm lucky as lots of people on the 2kGames forums have no sound at all. - TripcodeMel, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3Maybe they wouldn't be if you quit hitting all the jukeboxes with your ***** aim.
- rockrapdude, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2http://downloads.2kgames.com/bioshock/BioShock_Score.zip Heres the music from the game.
- seanherman, on 10/10/2007, -6/+2Moby couldn't be more out of place than in the Bioshock universe. Why was this even released? What does Moby have to do with this game? I know I would have actually purchased the soundtrack alone if it had compiled some period pieces, like Billy Holiday, Django Reinhardt guitar compositions, and other atmospheric time pieces. I feel a little bad for the people who got the special edition of this game, and were provided with this bizarre EP.
Want an example of good, original game composition from an electronic artist? Check out Amon Tobin's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory OST. It's atmospheric, perfect for the universe, and spectacular on its own.

- shaka999, on 10/10/2007, -11/+3If they would just fix the damn copy protection I too could enjoy the music....and game.
