BioShock Wins "Game of the Year" at Video Games Awards 2007
1pstart.com — Full list up, show doesn't air until tomorrow at 9pm. Other winners include Harmonix, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, skate, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, The Orange Box, Super Mario Galaxy, Ratchet & Clank, and of course Halo 3.

- digg it
- cozamonkey, on 12/09/2007, -2/+21Thanks for posting this so early, I wasn't really planning on watching the show. Some winners were a little surprising but the list overall was not.
- JaytB, on 12/09/2007, -7/+10Yes, nice to see that Bioshock got what it deserved. This was one of the most immersing game experiences I had ever had. I felt it was sometimes heavily underrated. No multi player but an interactive story driven game with an artistic, very interactive environment. This is only my humble opinion, but this was for me something surprisingly fresh and a beautiful work of art in the monotonous FPS universe.
- iamtheguyy, on 12/09/2007, -5/+7Bioshock pissed me off.
There was no point in playing it once you found out you would never go very far when you died, and death could even be to your advantage...going up and bashing rosies on the head with a wrench to save ammo, die and respawn a few times, takes away from the whole horror thing...a beautifully detailed game, story and graphics, but no multiplayer, and no consequences make for little replay value.- jonnyeh, on 12/09/2007, -3/+6There's a new patch (for 360 and PC) that allows you to disable the vita-chambers, making it much harder. The 360 version now has an extra achievement that rewards you for completing the game on hard 'without dieing' (i.e. without using a vita-chamber). I think I'll play through the awesome game again!
- LeeSoong, on 12/09/2007, -2/+5Best Macintosh Game:
Super Breakout.
- iamtheguyy, on 12/09/2007, -5/+7Bioshock pissed me off.
- TommyTSquared, on 12/09/2007, -9/+2Three 360 exclusives and Orange Box which plays/runs better on the 360? This list for GotY is complete *****. The VGA's don't deserve any type of credibility and are those that base any type of purchase or put any stock in what they have to say need to be shot.
- UPSLynx, on 12/09/2007, -4/+3"and Orange Box which plays/runs better on the 360?"
That's the greatest misconception of the year.
- UPSLynx, on 12/09/2007, -4/+3"and Orange Box which plays/runs better on the 360?"
- MRintheKeys, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1Most award shows are BS industry circle jerks anyhow. Does it really matter who wins GoTY? If you like the game, then play it. That's the most respect you can give it.

- Wuffles, on 12/09/2007, -8/+180This list is *****. Some of the games listed were released in 2006 (Wii Sports). And there is a category for "Most Addictive Game Fueled by Dew". What does that say to you?
- skidme, on 12/09/2007, -2/+60It tells me that Dew creates addictive situations and that I should stop drinking it?
- tektalk, on 12/09/2007, -2/+73There should be a category for "Most Addictive Game Fueled by Dew", it is legitimate, and doesn't imply any sponsorship influence whatsoever.
this message brought to you by PepsiCo™ - completerobot, on 12/09/2007, -1/+4Wii Sports came out late '06, though. Less than a month before the VGAs.
- Microdot, on 12/09/2007, -11/+9so halo 3 shouldnt have been eligible for this years then?
the list was complete ass. they didnt even bother getting genres correct. since when is mario galaxy an action game???? last i checked (and played) it was prety much all... no... scratch that... ALL 100% platformer. and it beat gow2? and ratchet? and the slew of other titles that deserved it 500 fold?- BassCadet, on 12/09/2007, -1/+10There is no "platformer" category, you moron. Platformers are, by definition, action games.
- nigh7dagger, on 12/09/2007, -0/+7You are retarded. Halo 3 came out more than a month ago. Get your facts straight before you start bitching.
- swiftekho, on 12/09/2007, -2/+6So Mass Effect shouldn't have been eligible for this years
- Microdot, on 12/09/2007, -11/+9so halo 3 shouldnt have been eligible for this years then?
- Trav3133, on 12/09/2007, -0/+8Its not a serious category why are you flipping out about it.
- cr4wl3r, on 12/09/2007, -4/+11Wii Sports isn't on the list.
"Game Fueled by Dew" is a joke.
Stop compaining. - EatUrKids, on 12/09/2007, -0/+3Probably because Mountian Dew sponsored lots of games and its sponsoring the "Video Game Show Awards"
- i208khonsu, on 12/09/2007, -2/+2These should really be renamed to "The Spike TV Video Game Hype Awards"
- ericrous, on 12/10/2007, -0/+1What, you didn't like Samuel Jackson, the naked chics, and the Foo Fighter's music numbers? Surely, this is much more important than the games.
- cr0m300, on 12/09/2007, -0/+3While I will say that "Fueled by Dew" is a ***** award, I'll also say that Bioshock winning game of the year is certainly an improvement to the way awards are given out. Does anyone remember when Spike first started their video game awards?
Their first award show was brought to you by Enter The Matrix and guess who won Game of the Year? It was moronic.
While they still have sponsored awards and somehow managed to leave out Mario Galaxy, they've still made some improvements to the show. I mean, Bioshock was a fine contender for Game of the Year, and at least the Orange Box got on there, right?
If the VGAs have a ***** sponsored award then so be it. It sucks, and it's annoying, but it doesn't mean anything and the people who actually watch the show know better. - FoxOrian, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1I remember the ***** VGA awards last year. The trailer to the World of Warcraft expansion was the only real highlight, and I dont even play the game. Last years was rigged so bad, giving awards to Scarface, the Family Guy game, and some other disgraces. Funny that the Family Guy game actually won more than one award that day -- because you know, Seth McFarlane co-hosting the show didn't have anything to do with it.
- merdiesel, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1You have to be a complete moron to think that they were serious when creating this category.
- MRintheKeys, on 12/09/2007, -0/+0Considering that Mountain Dew was a heavy sponsor of Halo3, is it a surprise that they won. I do have a gripe though with them giving best PC Game to Orange Box when HL2 came out years ago. Yes, Portal and TF2 are great, but well what am I saying. The VGA's have always been one long advertisement for games.
- MrFisty, on 12/10/2007, -1/+4Next year I want to see a category for "Game most likely to get you fired for a bad review".
- spammishking, on 12/09/2007, -37/+148I'm just glad The Orange box won a couple....and that Halo 3 didn't win ( overrated )
- Samsinite, on 12/09/2007, -2/+27Halo 3 did win a couple. The awards it won were best multi-player and most addictive.
- Anthrax704, on 12/09/2007, -22/+22Should have won most disappointing
- DarkSamus, on 12/09/2007, -8/+13and highly overrated
- markwilcox, on 12/09/2007, -23/+25Halo 3 has ***** multiplayer that's no different to Halo 2. Call of Duty 4 should have gotten the award.
"Most addictive powered by Dew" is the worst category ever.- BugMeNot2, on 12/09/2007, -10/+34Team Fortress 2 should have gotten the award.
- 0o0Moylan0o0, on 12/09/2007, -19/+13Halo 3 Online is awesome.
- 2shae, on 12/09/2007, -7/+7It's has crappy maps...the halo 2 maps were better (most of them)
- BlackMask, on 12/09/2007, -4/+15COD4 is a masterpiece. It has ruined my life j/k
- Shaflugi, on 12/09/2007, -4/+12Multiplayer doesn't get much better than TF2. How Halo won out over it is beyond me.
- Fizban140, on 12/09/2007, -10/+5Wow you are dumb, CoD 4 multiplayer is just CoD2 with modern weapons. Halo 3 has a lot of differences if you bothered to actually play it.
- lcmatt, on 12/09/2007, -2/+8COD4 is miles apart from COD2 MP.
- estvir, on 12/09/2007, -4/+3Sorry, as fun as CoD4's MP and the amount of time I've put into it, Halo3's MP beats it hands down in so many ways.
- Forge
- Custom gametypes and even default gametypes, I havent' had nearly as much fun in CoD4 as I have playing Rocket Race
- Stats, yes, levelling up is cool but CoD4 is just so basic and any person who sucks with enough time can achieve a high rank and there's no penalty for leaving, etc
- Website integration
And so on.. CoD4 MP is good, but Halo3 is much, much better and has a lot more life to it. I find myself playing less and less CoD4 after having finished SP and played most of the gametypes fairly extensively.
Oh, and your comment about there being "nothing new" in Halo3 yet parading CoD4 is unbelievably stupid and hypocritical. - WhereAmI, on 12/09/2007, -2/+2@ estvir:
Keep on playing your 360 and thinking your better than the Wii, PC and PS3 games combined.
- Anthrax704, on 12/09/2007, -22/+22Should have won most disappointing
- sweatyyeti, on 12/09/2007, -17/+21IMO Halo 3 should have at least won best original score.
- RyanBlack, on 12/09/2007, -5/+12Agreed.
- markwilcox, on 12/09/2007, -14/+7It was very similar to Halo 1/2, so Bioshock is more original.
- Trav3133, on 12/09/2007, -1/+21I did not even notice BioShock had music.
- Agret, on 12/09/2007, -2/+4All the cool 60's music, i loved it.
- MrGreencastle, on 12/09/2007, -3/+4How is that original score? Halo should have taken it, good choice of 60's music though.
- Trav3133, on 12/09/2007, -1/+21I did not even notice BioShock had music.
- tapo, on 12/09/2007, -7/+6If anything, Portal should have won best original score.
'Still Alive' is probably the best song from a videogame in recent memory, and has made it into the iTunes library of numerous friends.- louiedog, on 12/09/2007, -1/+12If there was a category for best song I'd agree. I don't think it deserves winning best score.
- EatUrKids, on 12/09/2007, -3/+3Halo 3 really wasnt that original
- JustinPM, on 12/09/2007, -5/+4(How I interpret the Halo 1,2, and 3 soundtrack)
Ohh ho ha ho ho oh ah (Sung like a gregorian monk)
repeat
- YouRookies, on 12/09/2007, -17/+25IMO Halo 3 should have won most overrated and advertised game.
- Bojo55, on 12/09/2007, -7/+12how is halo 3 overrated when no other console game comes close to its numbers online. maybe you dont like it but the stats are there.
- Shiftgood, on 12/09/2007, -6/+14dude, the guy is obviously WAY cooler than us. Because we play halo 3 and hes all "dude, no way halo 3 sucks" and were like "but i thought it was cool" but then hes like "no way dude, im cool, your videogame sucks" and then we're like "Oh yah man, you are way cooler than us, dude you're so above it all" and then hes all "i know, i even drink my Capri Sun from the bottom of the pouch".
dude is so cool.- chalkboy, on 12/10/2007, -0/+1Best comment ever

- avatarpalin, on 12/09/2007, -2/+17I agree, I have been playing Team Fortress 2 and boy I just can't stop....
- BradMW, on 12/09/2007, -2/+11Portal needed a mention for most funny.
- Pake, on 12/09/2007, -11/+4Orange Box shouldn't of won anything. Each game individually should of been scored instead of as a package, since it will only lead to future game companies now releasing $50 packages, containing 3 old games, one remake, a small expansion, and good game in hopes of winning GotY and other awards. Games should be judged, not packages of games.
- topace3000, on 12/09/2007, -1/+5Uh... you're complaining about the value of the orange box? It was one of the greatest deals of the year.. though I do agree that the games should have been rated individually.
- Pake, on 12/10/2007, -1/+2No, I'm complaining that a value package that contains games that were already released years earlier can be RE-reviewed and capable of winning awards. Portal and Episode Two should both be reviewed separately from the rest (HL2, EP1, TF2), because they are the only new games. Three games were used to artificially inflate the score of the newer games. Ask yourself this: Should a game be allowed to be nominated as GotY for two separate years, the first time by itself and the second time as a value package? Would you agree with "Half-Life 2: Game of the Year Edition" to be allowed to win it again the following year? Because essentially that is what happened. Each game alone in the Orange Box wouldn't of won an award except for Portal, but it wouldn't of won "Best PC Game", rather "Most Innovated."
- fognozzle, on 12/10/2007, -0/+1TF2 was a new game, genius. TF2 and Portal are both incredible games on their own merit.
- topace3000, on 12/09/2007, -1/+5Uh... you're complaining about the value of the orange box? It was one of the greatest deals of the year.. though I do agree that the games should have been rated individually.

- brainboy77, on 12/09/2007, -27/+71i feel galaxy deserved it. it's longer and has more of a range than bioshock. also, galaxy is the second-best ranked game ever. yeah, the last line kind of seals the deal.
EDIT: Galaxy was not a friggin option. and mass effect was. ***** you VGAs.- mrfreeziexp, on 12/09/2007, -10/+19ME was good, but not better then Mario.. The only reason ME was up there was because of the hype.
- estvir, on 12/09/2007, -1/+3And the fact that's is, you know, a good game.
Call me crazy but that MIGHT have had something to do with it. That might also possibly be why it won best RPG.
- estvir, on 12/09/2007, -1/+3And the fact that's is, you know, a good game.
- BlueSkyfish, on 12/09/2007, -6/+42I'm not really one to all conspiracy, but this whole list tends to favor Microsoft. The whole Halo3/Mountain dew sponsorship category kind of makes it obvious.
- xerus, on 12/09/2007, -7/+24Galaxy isnt a sci-fi epic first person shooter, so Spike TV isn't interested. Plus I'm pretty sure most of these awards are buy ins.
- quamb, on 12/09/2007, -7/+20not to add to this mob - but I just didn't find bioshock that enjoyable. Always seemed to be in the dark not being able to see anything then runnning from annoying security drones all the time - whilst running out of ammo. Then again, maybe I just sucked.
And Mass Effect I've heard is plagued with gameplay issues, and Halo 3 was well... Halo.
In anycase, this year in video games was definitely about HYPE and $$$. Moreso then ever.- MrSteamTank, on 12/10/2007, -0/+4Mass Effect was amazing! What are people talking about. Mass Effect may not have had the best gameplay but the story is absolutely top notch.
- ZenMojo, on 12/09/2007, -17/+9Bioshock > SMG. Considering that Galaxy's story is about as thin as one-ply toilet paper, it's far inferior audiovisually, and it adds next to nothing in control or interactivity, why should it beat out a truly revolutionary game just because it's the first real Mario game in a long time? Face it, in a year people will brush SMG off as a really good game and that's about it.
- influenceuh, on 12/09/2007, -5/+6"Considering that Galaxy's story is about as thin as one-ply toilet paper, it's far inferior audiovisually, and it adds next to nothing in control or interactivity," where in the hell did you come up with that third caveat?
- sadilak, on 12/09/2007, -8/+4you are an idiot. Go back to playing Solitaire in your 512 mb Vista Home Basic Laptop
- estvir, on 12/09/2007, -1/+4That was one of the most desperate, pathetic attacks I've seen on Digg but you get a bonus point for being somewhat specific.
- topace3000, on 12/09/2007, -0/+3No, he really doesn't.
- pugnator, on 12/09/2007, -4/+3People seem to forget that video games are about having fun. I played both Bioshock and SMG, and I found that SMG was the most enjoyable experience out of both of them. SMG never pissed me off and made me laugh even when I died. Sure its story is the same as always and the same characters, but even with that, I felt that Nintendo made a better game, especially the job they did with the music in SMG.
- Joeshie, on 12/09/2007, -0/+5And people seem to forget that not everyone has the same definition of fun as they do. I found Bioshock to be a much more enjoyable experience than what I played of SMG.
It's storyline, coupled with it's unique and creative atmosphere really made it stand out above SMG.

- Epacitythug, on 12/09/2007, -16/+9Bioshock clearly deserved it. so who watches the VGAs anyways?
- MattnJax, on 12/09/2007, -14/+7Nice to see Ratchet and Clank take home the top PS3 game. I haven't played Bioshock but hear great things about it. Too bad it's not on the PS3 yet, if ever. But that's what you get with exclusives. Thank god they are starting to become a thing of the past.
- sevenalive, on 12/09/2007, -2/+16Its the only ps3 game, ya i just had to do it.
- sadilak, on 12/09/2007, -10/+1Damn Dude, There a few good/great games out there. Warhawk, Folklore, Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword and a few Multi Platform games that were better on the PS3(Dirt)
- schoate09, on 12/09/2007, -1/+13A few, but most multiplatforms were better on the 360, usually the most popular too. Folklore = crap, Heavenly sword bombed, DiRT was not that great, Motorstorm was an Ok racing game, and Warhawk is fun, but the 360 has much better multiplayer games.
There's reasons I've traded in my PS3, and I don't regret it.- sadilak, on 12/11/2007, -0/+0Well, I dont think Heavenly Sword bombed and I dont think Folklore = crap. I respect your opinion though. You seem to be forgetting the fact that the PS3 is 1 year old. I am sure that by next year end, PS3 is gonna have lots of good/great games. As for you trading away your PS3, Good for you. I am happy with my PS3

- Christbait, on 12/09/2007, -2/+7No... Bioshock is never going to be developed for the PS3. 2K have bigger and better things to be developing for.
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 12/09/2007, -1/+6Ratchet and Clank? Isn't that the *only* PS3 game?
- MattnJax, on 12/09/2007, -6/+1Typical idiotic Xbox fans. Straight out of the trailor park. Have fun with your ***** console. What's that noise you hear? Oh that's just that huge blaring fan, but wait, what's that red ring on the front mean? Oh that's right, that's just you poorly made piece of ***** console dying. Have fun morons.
- ericrous, on 12/10/2007, -0/+3Jealous much?
- chalkboy, on 12/10/2007, -0/+2But I have games to play. There is not one game on the PS3 that I want to play.
- sevenalive, on 12/09/2007, -2/+16Its the only ps3 game, ya i just had to do it.
- whatthefu, on 12/09/2007, -7/+14I don't know, Bioshock has a great story and many great qualities, while plenty of other games have ***** stories but are still great games.
- banmaster, on 12/09/2007, -18/+7I bought Bioshock based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews on pretty much EVERY dam gaming site that reviewed it.
I played for perhaps 4-5 hours but that was it!
It was boring, the graphics were (as far as I'm concerned) sub-par considering how long it took in development, VERY repetitive, and a HUGE waste of my money. I gave it a very good shot but in the end I'd have given it a score in the mid 60s', certainly not 90+ like virtually every site did!
- banmaster, on 12/09/2007, -18/+7I bought Bioshock based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews on pretty much EVERY dam gaming site that reviewed it.
- onionoino, on 12/09/2007, -3/+49Because the opinions of the people over at Spike are so worth my attention. Now excuse me i need to get back to my UFC programs, and then i think there might be a show that has something to do with cars.
- BrandonMills, on 12/09/2007, -8/+16I'll accept that. I'd say Orange Box given TF2 and Portal in it, but I can accept Bioshock as a legit pick for GOTY.
- lennybird, on 12/09/2007, -6/+1Orange Box should win. A close second, I'd say would be Call of Duty 4. World in Conflict is too repetitive. Haven't played Bioshock sadly, but overall, just for the bang for your buck, O.B. should win.
- IndigoMoss, on 12/09/2007, -2/+1I don't think COD4 should win it because it's a hit it and quit it type of game, at least till the mods come out for it. I hit level 55 without much effort and it was great fun, but the maps are too small and the game modes don't have any type of tactical feel to it except Search and Destroy.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, but in a year with so many other games that kicked ass and last longer in both single player and multiplayey, it's definitely not Game of the Year in my opinion.
Top 3 for me would be:
Super Mario Galaxy
Orange Box
Bioshock

- Lane, on 12/09/2007, -14/+2What no love for crysis mulit-player?
- Christbait, on 12/09/2007, -2/+7Because most PC owners can't even run the ***** thing?
- IndigoMoss, on 12/09/2007, -1/+2Yeah i'll get back to you when I can run it. My computer runs everything else on full detail at 1280x720 at at least 30 FPS, usually over 60 FPS. I'm lucky to get 20 FPS in Crysis on High. I can't wait to play it when I get my 8800GT though.
- DFENS, on 12/09/2007, -21/+100Bioshock was NOT game of the year. Best writing in a game? Done deal - Bioshock takes it home. But the gameplay was more then slightly repetitive. Sure, you COULD use all the fancy plasmids - or you could just Freeze+Wrench everyone an bust through the game. Meh.
My vote for game of the year is Portal. Best gaming experience i've had in many years, and one of the few games i've ever played more then twice through. Portal beat Bioshocks ass.- BrandonMills, on 12/09/2007, -3/+34I'd have to vote Portal myself, but I know a lot of sites won't pick it due to game length alone. Which doesn't make sense. Short novels can be outstanding novels. Short movies can be outstanding movies. Why doesn't this translate into the video game industry?
- skyfire1, on 12/09/2007, -13/+3short game = short penis
- sevenalive, on 12/09/2007, -4/+8because i dont pay 60 bucks for a 4 hour game, althought portal and all orangebox is only 40/50 pc/360
- Sroek, on 12/09/2007, -5/+2Since when did price tags factor into a game's quality?
- manitoba98xp, on 12/09/2007, -1/+7That $60 gets you HL2, HL2:E1, HL2:E2, Portal, and TF2. It's not all for Portal. If you're on the PC, you can buy Portal alone for $20.
- UPSLynx, on 12/09/2007, -2/+3But yet people still pay 60 for CoD4 which has a 5-6 hour long singleplayer. Sure you've got the good multiplayer, but if you're looking at it from that perspective, it's no good.
- kuhlmeye, on 12/09/2007, -0/+12Short movies can indeed be outstanding, but let me know when a short movie wins best picture.
- completerobot, on 12/09/2007, -0/+8Well, that's not saying much, given that you can play through Portal three times in the length of time you'd spend playing most games.
- Trav3133, on 12/09/2007, -14/+4Portal, Seriously? Lol! Portal was ok @ best.
- Juntistik, on 12/09/2007, -11/+5I'm going to get dugg down into oblivion but I'm just going to say it anyway because it needs to be said
Portal is overrated.
Sure, it has a nifty storyline, certainly not the best it doesn't really go too in depth, average at best. Gameplay? Obviously it has the half life feel with a new weapon tossed in. Best score? (from a previous comment above) You have to be kidding me. The game is good just not THAT good in my opinion. The game was short and not ment to be TOO much of a game. - HigherLogic, on 12/09/2007, -0/+3Mass Effect had really good storyline too.
- Sep11insidejob, on 12/09/2007, -1/+3Portal FTW!
- BLiNk0, on 12/09/2007, -2/+0lol I don't like Portal and it just seems like a lot of older people like it cause it isn't fast pace and had a sarcastic robot, yeah no thanks it just wasn't that fun for me...idk not much of a storyline unless you take in account of Hali-Life, Bioshock deserved it, "is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own balls?"
- estvir, on 12/09/2007, -1/+4If you choose to freeze+wrench your whole way through, that's you ruining the game for yourself. How about you think about different strategies and approaches?
- hollismb, on 12/10/2007, -2/+1Why would you do that, when Freeze and Wrench is the easiest, though? I actually used Shock and Wrench the whole time through, which is the very first thing you learn, and the most effective. Oh, and Electric buck on the big daddies. Otherwise, pretty much all the other plasmids/weapons are almost useless.
- BrandonMills, on 12/09/2007, -3/+34I'd have to vote Portal myself, but I know a lot of sites won't pick it due to game length alone. Which doesn't make sense. Short novels can be outstanding novels. Short movies can be outstanding movies. Why doesn't this translate into the video game industry?
- gldfshnpcklejar, on 12/09/2007, -43/+36Bishock was piss awful boring. If i may be blunt. I beat Mario Galaxy, portal, hl2: ep2, i play tf2 all the time. All 100 times better than that rubbish bioshock.
- Fragman52, on 01/01/2008, -0/+0YES! Finally another person who knows what they're talking about. The day Bioshock deserves Game of the Year is the day I've lost all faith in the gaming community. I mean, come on, you've got to be ***** kidding me if you think this game is any better than average, let alone that it's the best game of the year. Super Mario Galaxy, Orange Box, Call of Duty 4, all games MUCH more deserving.
- joltjake, on 12/09/2007, -11/+100Anyone else think that Portal deserved to win?
- f4nt0m4s, on 12/09/2007, -4/+6yes. it was short, polished, and addicting.
i sat there until i finished it, not many games keep me stuck at my chair like that anymore - baldgye, on 12/09/2007, -5/+8While BioShock was 'alright' portal's amazing. Its the only, ONLY FPS single player game I've played non stop despite completing it many times, it never gets old or boring. That and HL2 EP2, the Orange box should have won by miles.
- djm101, on 12/09/2007, -3/+4Portal by far supersedes any game I've ever played in re-playability factor. We need a Portal 2.
- BLiNk0, on 12/09/2007, -4/+1They made a flash game of Portal...nuff said, it was about as fun as the actually game
- joltjake, on 12/09/2007, -2/+4Are you ***** crazy?
- topace3000, on 12/09/2007, -2/+2NOW you're thinking with portals.
- telengard, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1Portal is the best game I've played in a *long* time. Unfortunately games now seem to be judged on the gimmicks rather than the game itself. Portal doesn't have multiplayer, movies, clans, etc. What it does have is some of the most riveting gameplay, dialog, and just cool technology. The game itself should be what games are judged on. Halo 3 proves that is not the case (theatre, forge, co-op, MP, etc)
- f4nt0m4s, on 12/09/2007, -4/+6yes. it was short, polished, and addicting.
- marine63, on 12/09/2007, -18/+6HAH Halo got pwned
- grat2001, on 12/09/2007, -14/+8There needs to be another category, "Best Voice Acting". And I think Heavenly Sword would have won that one. The Halo 3 Dew award should be called "Best Marketing Award".
- GreyICE, on 12/09/2007, -3/+8Best voice acting? Pssh, not even close. Portal ftw (seriously. Portal).
- influenceuh, on 12/09/2007, -4/+4PFFT! Super Mario Galaxy clearly had the best voice acting! WHOOHOO! ITS UH ME! MARIO! IMUH TIRED! YIPEEEEE!
- p1nn4cl3, on 12/09/2007, -3/+2Nope. Best voice acting was in Call of Duty 4, hands down. Portal was a great game though.
- louiedog, on 12/09/2007, -0/+16What about Mass Effect? Every single line of dialog and a lot of the codex had good voice acting. There is more voiced dialog in that game than gameplay hours in Portal, and it's done very well. Portal would be a close second for me though. I didn't play Heavenly Sword.
- sadilak, on 12/09/2007, -8/+0Heavenly Sword is awesome . Its only drawback is that it was released at a very wrong time(right on the heels of LAIR) .
- Wuffles, on 12/09/2007, -5/+1Drake's Fortune has some of the best voice acting in my opinion.
- cavie2002, on 12/09/2007, -4/+53bioshock to me was game of the year for the 5 hours it took me to beat it, after that it become dust collector of the year
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 12/09/2007, -1/+3I may scrape off the dust and play through it again... I mean, it's been 3 months now.
- Sroek, on 12/09/2007, -0/+17You don't really "beat" games anymore, since they're usually made for the cinematic experience. We're no longer in the 8 and 16-bit days where there's limited lives and no saves.
- mike81890, on 12/09/2007, -3/+1Finishing the story of a game without multiplayer is still considered beating it... If it has a lot of replay value then you could beat it again, but going through once is still beating it.
- ridercologne, on 12/09/2007, -0/+55 hours? you're kidding. bioshock takes way longer. anyhow, you should enjoy a game, not run through it as fast as you can!!
- MrFisty, on 12/10/2007, -1/+1Welcome to the new age of games. Even supposed 'mammoths' like Mass Effect don't take too long to complete. Most games I buy these days can be finished in a weekend. Alas.
- smurf22, on 12/09/2007, -18/+45Im all giddy like a school girl because halo 3 didn't win game of the year.
- Trav3133, on 12/09/2007, -1/+13you might want to have that looked @.
- zephyr42, on 12/09/2007, -22/+26wtf do you mean of course halo 3?? Mediocre game at best.
- gdehms, on 12/09/2007, -2/+8Fun multiplayer, features like Theater and Forge, and a decent, not great, but decent single player... Is that really mediocre? I feel like some people just hate Halo 3 because it's cool to hate Halo 3. My friends and I play it all the time.. most people in my dormitory play it.. hell most other male dormitories play it. You can't say that's mediocre. I'm not saying it's GOTY, but it sure as hell is a fun game.
- DarkSamus, on 12/09/2007, -8/+1buried for saying dormitory too much
- Cov3rt, on 12/09/2007, -1/+2I buried DarkSamus for saying dormitory too much.
- gdehms, on 12/10/2007, -0/+1I only said it twice.. ?
- DarkSamus, on 12/09/2007, -8/+1buried for saying dormitory too much
- Christbait, on 12/09/2007, -3/+6Well yeah.. Halo 3 is pretty damn dull. Better than anything I owned for the PS3 nevertheless.
- Uranium118, on 12/09/2007, -1/+12Stop hating, it's getting old. It is popular and you hate it for that. Over a million people are enjoying the game. Your loss if you don't like it, no need to bash it.
- JasonCox, on 12/09/2007, -6/+21If it's on Spike then I dont give a flying crap.
- Metalcard, on 12/09/2007, -7/+31I don't think BioShock should have won. I played it, loved it, started playing my second time through and realized, "Wait, this is the same f****** game! Not a bit different accept for some dialog and the ending!" The lack of replayablity killed it for me.
My Thoughts.- astyanax, on 12/09/2007, -8/+9What were you expecing? Warp Pipes and Koopa Troopas? Without a multiplayer option, I'm not sure exactly what you were expecting in a second playthrough.
- Metalcard, on 12/09/2007, -5/+2I was hoping for some new plasmids to be unlocked, or to be able to beat this boss before that boss. I wasn't expecting a completely new game, just a new experience the second time through.
- uziko, on 12/09/2007, -2/+9Yea after you beat the game once you get to unlock bioshock 2. Turns out bioshock 2 is the same as bioshock 1 though.
^^^^^
idiot- IndigoMoss, on 12/09/2007, -3/+2Well I kind of agree with him a little bit, I tried to go through it a second time to see the other ending, but it was pretty much the same exact thing, so I couldn't finish it. Usually games that have multiple endings will mix it a up a bit so you don't get bored with it before you get to the other ending.
- uziko, on 12/09/2007, -0/+5If it was fun the first time it should be fun the second time. Maybe a little bit less but still fun. It's not like now that you know the storyline the game is ruined for you. It's a game not a book. Even books are fun to read again.
- sbgunn, on 12/09/2007, -2/+2*except
- bengringo, on 12/10/2007, -1/+1This is why I'm glad I rented it instead of buying it.
- astyanax, on 12/09/2007, -8/+9What were you expecing? Warp Pipes and Koopa Troopas? Without a multiplayer option, I'm not sure exactly what you were expecting in a second playthrough.
- Pillage, on 12/09/2007, -5/+1dude, I was gonna watch this. (for Sam Jackson...)
- valkyries, on 12/09/2007, -0/+5yeah i stopped watching last year when Jackson said the PS3 was doing amazing. There wasnt even have a decent game out for the console yet.
- TrevorBradley, on 12/09/2007, -13/+8Bioshock wins "Best Original Score"?!? Who are they kidding?
- grat2001, on 12/09/2007, -5/+2That should have gone to Uncharted...
- TripcodeMel, on 12/09/2007, -2/+0Perry Como would like a word with you. Outside.
- Striff, on 12/09/2007, -4/+61How does Bioshock win "Game of the Year" but doesn't win FPS of the year???
- f4nt0m4s, on 12/09/2007, -5/+23 because, spike is to video game awards as FOX is to news...duh
- reknaps, on 12/09/2007, -2/+7story, plot, writing, score all go into game of the year I'd say.
FPS is all about the shooting action. CoD4 takes the cake there easily. - smergs, on 12/09/2007, -4/+2Yeah seriously. If it's the best game of the year (Game of the Year) then that means it beat out all of the other FPSes this year. So why wouldn't it be FPS of the year as well. I enjoyed the game as well as many others this year. I really hate video game award shows though. Someone needs to make an official awards show for video games instead of this commercial filled crap that doesn't equally rate every game.
- kufu91, on 12/09/2007, -2/+3because it didn't win for being an amazing fps it won for being an amazing game experience.
- AceAMasta, on 12/09/2007, -2/+1In addition, how did it win GOTY but not best PC game?
- ronnsprocket, on 12/09/2007, -3/+15some other awards: (from wikipedia)
Studio of the Year: Harmonix
Best Shooter: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Best RPG: Mass Effect
Best Military Game: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Best Individual Sports Game: skate.
Best Handheld Game: The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

Best Rhythm Game: Rock Band (wtf kinda category is this?)
Best Driving Game: DiRT
Best Action Game: Super Mario Galaxy

Best Xbox 360 Game: BioShock
Best Wii Game: Super Mario Galaxy
Best PS3 Game: Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
Best PC Game: The Orange Box
Best Original Score: BioShock (really should have been halo 3, that orchestra pumps you up midgame; dont front)
Best Multiplayer Game: Halo 3
Most Addictive Video game Fueled by Dew: Halo 3- bluscale, on 12/09/2007, -1/+6Rhythm is a category. PS2 has tons of games under this genre.
- bagboyrebel, on 12/09/2007, -1/+9DDR, amplitude, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, elite beat agents, etc. There are quite a few and it is a legitimate category.
- kp606, on 12/09/2007, -1/+5Original Score?
SMG or Halo 3, end of story. You just don't get orchestration like that, not even in movies. - Jude007, on 12/09/2007, -2/+0Dirt was garbage, I took it back and got an exchange after a couple days. The multiplayer was a joke, and the whole Dude thang got very tiresome. Best driving game I would suggest as Test Drive Unlimited , I recently discovered it and it's concept of a driving massive multiplayer has so much potential. Halo3 is OK, MP is good but still very amateurish for a FPS. Bio-shock is nice but slow and no MP.
- infiniti029, on 12/09/2007, -7/+10I'm glad COD4 got best shooter, it def deserved it. Sure it uses the same formula as the other COD games, but it just adds some nice touches and does most things really well. And of course Halo 3/Microsoft has to win something (although I think COD4 multiplay is better). I like how Xbox Live is filled with Mountain Dew ads btw...
- baldgye, on 12/09/2007, -1/+2Yeah i have to agree, while COD4 dose nothing 'new' its very, very polished and is so much fun to play online
- scyform, on 12/09/2007, -2/+1exactly, I found CoD4's multiplayer way more entertaining than Halo 3. I played through Bioshock once and fleabayed it...I'm a little over halfway through the CoD4 campaign and pretty much abandoned it at this point for the outstanding multiplayer.
- HalFTW, on 12/09/2007, -4/+2BS, Crysis ***** all over it.
- Zapita, on 12/09/2007, -3/+20>>Game of the Year nominees: BioShock, Halo 3, Mass Effect, The Orange Box
and mario galaxy wasn't even nominated? i don't say it would win but..
ok..i understand with a category like Most Addictive Game Fueled by Dew, this must not be serious- bluscale, on 12/09/2007, -3/+4Yeah, kind of takes away any legitimacy if could have had. Although, if you take away the "fueled by dew" part, Halo 3 is still the most addictive game on consoles. I guess they just sold out.
- xerus, on 12/09/2007, -6/+47Bioshock won game of the year in the biggest joke award show in the industry. Grats.
- SemiSarcastic, on 12/09/2007, -5/+3Hey! any award show about anything has automatic legitimacy by default if Samuel L. Jackson is hosting it.
- ericrous, on 12/10/2007, -0/+1Well, at least it has more credibility than Gamespot now.
- infiniti029, on 12/09/2007, -0/+4The site mentions a new trailer for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2, link anyone?
- orangester, on 12/09/2007, -10/+12Call of Duty 4 MP >>>>>> Halo 3's Fueled by Dew MP.
End of story.
And that category was complete *****.- RyanBlack, on 12/09/2007, -9/+10Console MP sucks anyways.
- baldgye, on 12/09/2007, -7/+3all console FPS's suck
- natastna2, on 12/09/2007, -1/+3That's just not true, I bought COD4 on the xbox and on the PC as I have mates who play on both. I've played almost 3 solid days on the xbox and only about 8 hours on the PC. A console FPS gamer playing a PC FPS gamer would suck but the simple fact that everyone has a controller negates the suckiness.
- baldgye, on 12/09/2007, -7/+3all console FPS's suck
- Juntistik, on 12/09/2007, -7/+8when are PC purists ever going to get the ***** off their high horse?
- GhostCow, on 12/09/2007, -6/+9When consoles support a keyboard and mouse in every shooter.
- DarkDx, on 12/09/2007, -4/+2FragFX...
- Juntistik, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1They have peripherals for the 360 that allow mouse and keyboard support. Ps3 natively supports it. Whats your next excuse? I don't understand why PC gamers have to shun a console system COMPLETELY because it doesn't have Mouse and Keyboard shipped with it. Why can't people quit being so stubborn and actually take the time to learn a new control scheme? Sure it may not be as precise as M&K but just because YOU don't like it doesn't mean it sucks and the whole console genre of gaming is ***** (and online service)
- GhostCow, on 12/09/2007, -6/+9When consoles support a keyboard and mouse in every shooter.
- RyanBlack, on 12/09/2007, -9/+10Console MP sucks anyways.
- bluscale, on 12/09/2007, -5/+10Bioshock needed more enemies. Even though Splicers came in different flavors, they got their asses handed to them equally with telekinesis. That fact gave the game zero replay value for me. If it weren't for achievements, I wouldn't have gone back to it at all.
- h4mx0r, on 12/09/2007, -3/+19I'm playing Bioshock right now and I will say: It's a game with impressive art design and a somewhat immersive game world, but it's missing a few elements that would make it awesome. And no, multiplayer is not one of those missing elements.
- Kallius, on 12/09/2007, -2/+6Yeah, like support for cards that don't have Pixelshader 3.0. Thumbs waaaay down to Bioshock for that.
- Roger, on 12/09/2007, -0/+4If you have a SM 2.0b card you can still play it. There's a hack, Google it.
Runs fine on my x850.
- Roger, on 12/09/2007, -0/+4If you have a SM 2.0b card you can still play it. There's a hack, Google it.
- Christbait, on 12/09/2007, -2/+3No not lame PC geek tech things that were missing... but the game severely lacked interaction and although the levels were free-form there was nothing that made me want to go back to any of the areas I'd already been to.
- Kallius, on 12/09/2007, -2/+6Yeah, like support for cards that don't have Pixelshader 3.0. Thumbs waaaay down to Bioshock for that.
- f4nt0m4s, on 12/09/2007, -3/+16i thought the Orange Box was easily the most complete FPS package you could buy this year, and with Portal being pretty much the most amazing ***** single player puzzle game I have EVER played it's tough to not consider the package for Game of the Year. Team Fortress 2 is the most well polished multiplayer I have ever seen, and HL2's single player still is pretty fun.
Like the academy awards, who gives a *****....if it's fun for you play. For me, the Orange Box is what gaming is all about. - newbietheatre, on 12/09/2007, -16/+19Halo 3's multiplayer is BORING.
- sevenalive, on 12/09/2007, -12/+12and u prolly get your ass handed to ya also.
- Scheissen, on 12/09/2007, -1/+4The Halo sequels sucks ass. All pros before Halo over those ***** games. They just play them because that's where all the attention is from the prepubescent teens.
- natastna2, on 12/09/2007, -6/+2I have to agree, I haven't played any Halo since COD4 came out. Halo is totally overrated and pretty boring after a while.
- miketejera, on 12/10/2007, -0/+2post your gamertag so we can see how much u suck
- natastna2, on 12/11/2007, -0/+1lolsers, ok "murderererer". I didn't play much Halo 3. I'm currently in the top 6,000 on cod 4 though.
- miketejera, on 12/10/2007, -0/+2post your gamertag so we can see how much u suck
- sevenalive, on 12/09/2007, -12/+12and u prolly get your ass handed to ya also.
- astyanax, on 12/09/2007, -3/+1If they are going to make up some category (Fueled by Dew?!) then they should do so for Portal, which is a much more innovative take on the FPS genre than really any of Bioshock (which I own and love) and Halo (which I bought but haven't yet played due to having Orange Box ;-)
- wafflesomd, on 12/09/2007, -15/+10Bioshock was a crappy game.
The day they let a good game win something :/- JHattendorfII, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1you're a crappy game
- SemiSarcastic, on 12/09/2007, -2/+61You know what would have been funny?...If Kane and Lynch got the Game of the Year Award.
- djruden, on 12/09/2007, -0/+28...followed by a commercial for Kane & Lynch.
- gh0st3000, on 12/09/2007, -0/+3...and a half-hour segment on why Kane and Lynch is the best game to come out in the past 10 years, written entirely in *****.
- AdmiralJimbob, on 12/09/2007, -0/+17Sponsored by Gamespot.
- djruden, on 12/09/2007, -0/+28...followed by a commercial for Kane & Lynch.
- Remmiz, on 12/09/2007, -6/+3SpikeTV is possible the most credible and trustworthy source for video game reviews. *cough*gamespot kane & lynch*cough*
- tacklebox, on 12/09/2007, -2/+8Forza 2 should have won racing GOTY. Dirt was terribly repetitive and had terrible online. The rest of the list I agree with. For those that didnt play bioshock on easy and fly thru it, it was the best game of the year. Same thing could be said about mass effect. As far as mario galaxy, meh, psyconauts is still the best game in that genre since mario 64.
- Pake, on 12/09/2007, -0/+4Forza 2 is the better of the two racing games and it's tough for me to say this because I loved watching Colin race, but I almost feel like this was more of a sympathy win than true win. Forza 2 just had better physics, better graphics, and better gameplay in general. DiRT used way too much HDR Lighting and blurred out the screen and after awhile, your eyes would get exhausted from it all.
- markwilcox, on 12/09/2007, -10/+8How the ***** did Halo 3 get best multiplayer over Call of Duty 4? Oh wait, Microsoft is ***** rich.
- sevenalive, on 12/09/2007, -2/+8no, look at the sheer numbers in XBL online play. I have heard great things about CoD 4, i am sure its good, but u can't deny the numbers.
- markwilcox, on 12/09/2007, -10/+4Uhh, Call of Duty 4 isn't only on Xbox Live. It's on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Add them up.
And just because more people play/buy a game does NOT make it better. Did more people buy Bioshock over Halo 3? Did Halo 3 get GotY?- ericrous, on 12/10/2007, -0/+2You could add them all up and double them and it still wouldn't touch Halo 3 for popularity. CoD4 is popular. Halo 3 is a ***** juggernaut.
- markwilcox, on 12/09/2007, -10/+4Uhh, Call of Duty 4 isn't only on Xbox Live. It's on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Add them up.
- GUTTS, on 12/09/2007, -1/+6Indeed, the XBL numbers speak for themselves...
- orca94, on 12/09/2007, -4/+3Halo 3's multiplayer is much more polished than COD 4's. It's a better overall experience.
- natastna2, on 12/09/2007, -4/+2That's a bare faced lie. I found Halo 3 boring and repetitive whereas I can play COD4 all damned day to the detriment of my bank balance.
- HBNDonut, on 12/09/2007, -0/+2There is more variety in Halo 3 MP with forge, the vehicles, character customization etc. Plus it's the most balanced. I personally find CoD's multiplayer quite repetitive
- ericrous, on 12/10/2007, -0/+1Numbers, baby. Numbers.
- sevenalive, on 12/09/2007, -2/+8no, look at the sheer numbers in XBL online play. I have heard great things about CoD 4, i am sure its good, but u can't deny the numbers.
- RyanBlack, on 12/09/2007, -14/+8Console Multiplayer blows anyway. PC MP FTW.
- sevenalive, on 12/09/2007, -0/+3At least we got XBL, and ya i play both console and pc. I rather have some fps on consoles then others. Orangebox tho has to be on pc. Mods mostly.
- BradMW, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1I fully agreed with you until I tried COD4 at a friend's. Impressive for a console.
- SemiSarcastic, on 12/09/2007, -0/+0I'll take a new console system once every five years than being stuck in the rat race of spending $300 every six months to upgrade thanks.
- miketejera, on 12/10/2007, -0/+1so does ya moms, but who's commenting on that?
- hotdamn, on 12/09/2007, -9/+11BioShock and Mass Effect are definitely worthy of any awards they can possibly get.
Halo 3 on the other hand, is clearly outdone by Call Of Duty 4 in any category I can think of.- GUTTS, on 12/09/2007, -6/+9Except the highest grossing game on opening day(and soon to be highest grossing game of all time.). Oh and also most addicting MP game category to date. Lol all you Halo haters should just shoot yourselves.
- markwilcox, on 12/09/2007, -7/+6I find CoD4 a LOT more addicting than Halo. All the 13 year olds put me off too.

- Kwasny, on 12/09/2007, -2/+1Spoilers?
- BradMW, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1Seriously, I was looking forward to being force-fed hype by celebrities I can't stand.
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1Teleprompters ftw!

- sevenalive, on 12/09/2007, -7/+3Seriously who gives a ***** about spiketv, the VGA is some lame attempt by some geeks to do a spoof on the emmys. Here is a proven award system Sales and gameplay. Who wins using this method? CoD 4, Mario Galaxy, OrangeBox, Halo 3, Bioshock.
I think it should be CoD 4 best MP, Zelda TP best adventure, Bioshock: Best Story, Halo 3 Best Overall Gameplay, Mario Galaxy Best wii game, Orange Box: Best Game pack, best puzzle game, best SP game, great MP, Assasain's Creed - Best overhyped game because of a some chik that is ok looking but not hot (she is ok, but not hot, seriously meet some girls). Kane & Lynch - Best Way to get myself fired game- valkyries, on 12/09/2007, -1/+2subtract halo3 and u got a winner!
- YouRookies, on 12/09/2007, -1/+1Zelda TP was 2006
- meed, on 12/09/2007, -7/+5MOST ADDICTIVE VIDEO GAME FUELED BY DEW
Halo 3 (Microsoft Game Studios/ Bungie Studios)
give me a damn break, it sounds like Pepsi/microsoft/bungie bought a catagory and picked it's own winner. What would happen if on the Oscars added a catagory like Best Movie to watch while drinking a Budlight? It would get boo'ed.
Spike's VGA historically have been one of the worst offenses to gamers ever. Until the porn stars, camera whores, and etc. are Banished from the award show, they don't mean *****. Instead of celebrites for presenters, they need to have voice actors, people who make the games, and/or gamers who have won recent public tournaments. And instead of brain dead corperate mofo's who have nothing better to do, they need to have a pannel of well known video game reviewers from atleast half a dozen reviewing houses.- Sroek, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1Award shows never meant ***** except for the Oscars.
- MackPrime, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1do you want the next one to be held by Jade Raymond and Cliffy B. ?
- TripcodeMel, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1It's a joke category, tough guy. Stop taking yourself so seriously.
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 12/09/2007, -3/+1"Fueled by Dew" isn't even meant to be a Mountain Dew advertisement. I didn't even realize it could be interpreted as an ad until someone mentioned it here.
- 01l0, on 12/09/2007, -2/+2Did anyone see the original ads for the Spike TV Video Game Awards? "Make Games Not War" prominently displayed on primetime network TV. The hand throwing the "peace" symbol is still representing their icon, but I'm guessing somebody got fired for that one.e
- GUTTS, on 12/09/2007, -11/+1I'm sorry but how tha ***** does Super Mario Galaxy win best "ACTION" game of the year? FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although Halo 3 is overrated. It has ASSloads of action more then SMG. I'm playing Mass Effect right now. And it's all kinds of tite. Jesus, pull ***** heads out of your asses people.
- Frostman3D, on 12/09/2007, -1/+2^^ Bill Gates ladies and gentlemen!^^
- YouRookies, on 12/09/2007, -0/+6Where the ***** is God of War 2?
- 01l0, on 12/09/2007, -2/+1kicking "super mario galaxy"'s ass, thats where the ***** it is. PS2 > PS3. PS2> XBO720. PS2 > Wii.
- PinkoComrade, on 12/09/2007, -0/+4I think this says it all...
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/edit ... - floodyberry, on 12/09/2007, -1/+4Even with the bugs, I don't see how they passed up on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. It felt less like a game and more like you were actually at Chernobyl, making your way through abandoned underground hellholes and sparsely populated wastelands.
BioShock did look nice, but the story was hokey and obvious and everything felt contrived. The dumbed down controls and interface inherited from the console version wasn't particularly enjoyable either. The nominee list looks like they just sorted by hype, then chose the top 4 games for each category.- valkyries, on 12/09/2007, -0/+3S.T.A.L.K.E.R. with 8 endings, im still playing thru the game on my fourth time.
- theexitwound, on 12/09/2007, -1/+1STALKER had some very lame UI problems, such as the inventory scheme and the location of your radiation meter, etc. The game fell flat for me for those reasons alone. It's not enjoyable to fight your interface.
- uziko, on 12/09/2007, -6/+1Bioshock was a no brainer, I just started playing it 3 days ago. It's already my favorite game ever. I played call of duty 4 it was good but nothing compared to the greatness of bioshock.
- p1nn4cl3, on 12/09/2007, -0/+3Wow man, this just shows that games are so subjective now. I loved Call of Duty 4, it's probably one of my all time favorites, and I found Bioshock boring as all hell.
- uziko, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1That's great everyone has their own opinion. The main reason I liked bioshock was 1. Because of the graphics. 2. Because I liked the underwater setting. Whereas in call of duty 4 I didn't like the modern combat setting.
And guess what contrary to popular belief you can like a game just because of the graphics and where the game takes place. Now that's not to say I didn't like the gameplay because I did. I still thought the gameplay was way better in bioshock than in COD4. But my main reason for liking bioshock was because of the underwater setting.

- uziko, on 12/09/2007, -1/+1...
- Shiftgood, on 12/09/2007, -0/+1wow.. 3 days ago? thats the test? i thought it would be more like... Oh ive been playing this game for months now and i still like it rather than.... well you get the idea.
everyone is shooting from the hip on these comments... think about what you're saying for a second.
