- jeszus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+25Limited.........yeah Limited to how many they can sell.
- chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19you really think you made a difference? This was a PR move. nothing more. They always had plans to make a LE version and this crap was just them drumming up interest.
It would've better if nobody signed it. then what? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Standard retail price of Xbox 360 games is already $60. Every time I buy a new game these days, I wince at this mark-up.
The limited edition of this game is bound to be $70-120, depending on what they put in (the poll suggests people want a figurine, so expect the price to be on the high end). I don't think I'm the only one who won't be able to justify spending that much money for a single game, no matter what they put into the packaging.
However, this game is also coming to PC, where games cost MUCH less. I'd imagine that, if you have a high-end PC that can handle a game like this, a PC limited edition would probably be the best deal. - Homunculiheaded, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Last time I checked 'limited" and "collectors" editions included a cheap plastic figurine and a some 'bonus' material that was originally destined for the trash. I always thought they were purely a marketting gimmick, taking advantage of over zealous fans who are willing to pay for whatever the companies says they are going to pay for.
It seemed to me that NOT having a 'limited' edition was a sign of respect towards the gaming community and then 5,000 people said "No wait, seriously we'll throw extra money at anything you give us" and 2k was like "well if you insist." - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8LE Ultimate edition: Includes ripped ISO of System Shock 2 and bonus credits to download System Shock 1 on XBLA.
- airwalkery2k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I voted for upgraded packaging! That would be sooo sweet... a tougher cardboard box with possibly some shiny paint. (That last part is just a rumor, dude, so don't quote me on it.)
- estvir, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Uh, most 'big' games almost always have a Collectors Edition (Or whatever you want to call it), it was ridiculous that they considered not having one for BioShock hence the signatures.
- okrayski, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I'm fairly disappointed that the highest vote is for a Big Daddy Figurine right now (28% when I voted), considering it would shoot the price up quite a lot if they were to make it somewhat big (Halo 3 Legendary Edition anyone?). Either way it's really cool that they're doing this.
Artbook for me, though, please. - haooken, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I bet they're gonna throw all of that in the box. Like chriss9902 said, this is all just a PR stunt.
- teqonix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3If you had ever played System Shock 2, you'd know just how wrong you are.
- Dyabolik, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7Bioshock is going to be great game, I seriously can't wait. Don't forget to vote.
- Hamflank, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Like wytefang mentioned, the collector's edition was most likely planned already, considering the anticipation among gamers. Great way for the game developer to create some media hype and make it look like they're listening to the fans.
- xelloss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes vote for the soundtrack and the making DVD, Who and the hell is voting for a stupid Art book...
- Adamacus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Laugh at your own jokes much?
- ZippyDSMlee, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1ever stop to think some games need the extra 10 to help the devs survive?
Halo sure as hell dose not need it neither dose Doom or Quake (even tho quake 4 sold badly)
I'll be happy to buy it if I can get it new from a first or 2nd tear retailer thats not tied to EB........ - Scatropolis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1$10? I wish
- shinynew, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2In other news, bees make honey, companies want money, and roses are (mostly) red.
- ElliotShoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Don't forget to VOTE for what you want bundled in the limited edition version... Only 2.7k votes so far.
- gotforce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Halo 3 like full on limited edition (legendary?) comes contained IN a spartan helmet :D:D:D
- Wytefang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Um, just an FYI, BioShock isn't available yet. Might want to do some fact-checking next time before ya rant. I hear and agree with some of what you're saying but you're not going to help your cause if you're saying things that aren't actually correct or factual.
- Wytefang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's safe to say that no one really knows if it'll be good or bad since it's not available yet. Signs seem to indicate that this will be a good game but we just won't know til it's out. Anything else is just conjecture...
- guitarh3ro, on 10/12/2007, -10/+10That's actually really cool when you think about it. Not many companies actually do things like this these days.
- afive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It all stinks of one big viral marketing campaign to me. A well done one, no doubt, but still, a marketing campaign... Honestly, who the hell cares about Limited Edition crap, especially enough to put together an online petition and get over 14000 signatures (which they now have). It just seems hokey in principle for people to be that concerned about a game they most likely ALREADY have. after all, they're the only ones who are big fans of the game right? so they're basically begging 2K to release some art stills or production videos so they can pay another $50 or $60 for it? ok...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Sweet, the Big Daddy Figurine is winning the poll for what to include in the package!
- Wytefang, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Whatever.
- sharly2007, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I'm fairly disappointed that the highest vote is for a Big Daddy Figurine right now (28% when I voted), considering it would shoot the price up quite a lot if they were to make it somewhat big (Halo 3 Legendary Edition anyone?). - ZippyDSMlee, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Official sold only at EB and GS and Officially boycotted by me...I refuse to have anythign to do with them their anti consumer polices have gotten worse over the years with the ban on used PC games was the last straw.
SO now unless someone else gets it Bioshock is dead to me. - Adamacus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1asinine*
- wang1011, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2doesn't look like the limited edition will have anything different with the actual game, but a big daddy figurine would be pretty sweet
- Wytefang, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Yep. Make assinine comments much?
- Saabzilla, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I will put it on my game shelf next to the spot waiting for my Master Chef helmet!
- Azimuth1, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4I voted for a "Making of" DVD, I'm always interested to see behind the scenes of how games are made.
- giddieon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1That was for the PC and 8 Years ago.... things change...
- Wytefang, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2This is almost surprising, considering how retardedly the petition was worded. LOL But it's all good. It's not like they weren't going to have a Collector's Edition anyway, so this was kind of a pointless crusade in the first place...
- ShoulderKnight, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Hey lets pay $10 dollars more for a larger pamphlet, bonus DVD and a shinier case! Get a life people, play the freaking game and quit throwing away your money. Oh and if it has a figurine (or Toy last time I checked) it will probably be even more.
I will only pay more for additional game content, like a deleted levels or directors cut type of thing. - Wytefang, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2True, apparently my pointed comments made someone sad because they dugg me down. LOL
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Actually, we don't really know how good the music is in the game. All the trailers use custom music written specifically for the trailer, so it syncs up with the pre-scripted visuals rather than a continuous gameplay experience. Most FPS games have pretty lame soundtracks, so there's definitely something to worry about.
But, I'm a big soundtrack fan, so I voted for that anyway... just in case it is good! - jockser, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2i wasn't gonna buy the game but what the hell i signed
- Vash63, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1No, it will probably be $60 on PC, which is where shooters belong in the first place.
- cardyology, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1How much cooler would it be if the spartan helmet that comes with halo3 ultimate edition was actually wearable? I could play halo for real! In real life!
- PacoDG, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Thanks Internet, now I have to pay ten bucks extra if I want the best version of this title instead of them focusing and just making one really good version.
- sirurza, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Last time you checked? Must play a lot of Japanese games then cause last time I checked most collectors editions came with an extra disc of behind the scenes content and that's about it.
- giddieon, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1The Funny thing is that this game is going to end up sucking...there is to much hype for it to live up to....
It will score 7 out of 10 because it is going to do a belly flop....hope we all have our water wings on...big wave coming... - SLP1111, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1April Fools?
