- latova, on 01/08/2009, -1/+136Translation: We're going to milk it for as long as you'll buy it.
- RoroCo, on 01/07/2009, -0/+103Just don't give us a map pack and call it a new full game, and I will be happy to buy play five Bioshocks. The first one was great.
- vinceislegend, on 01/08/2009, -0/+96Make them all as awesome as the first one, would you kindly?
- serif69, on 01/08/2009, -2/+78BioAftershocks
- Kravin, on 01/08/2009, -1/+63Hopefully it doesn't turn out to be "Would you kindly beat this dead horse?"
- acegi, on 01/08/2009, -0/+46why don't they give us a sequel first and see if it'll be worth other 4.
- CydonianKnight7, on 01/08/2009, -3/+42The Bioshock story was great, especially where it began in the first part of the game (after everybody went mad). I think the prequels (if written correctly) will work brilliantly!
I for one can't wait for the prequels. - iticu, on 01/08/2009, -2/+21And each time the game sells less, devs will blame piracy and pile on more DRM untill everyone avoids it by principle.
- krellor, on 01/08/2009, -0/+19You should try system shock, and system shock 2 if you though bioshock was scary...
- Lawlmuffin, on 01/08/2009, -1/+19Any game that lets you shoot bees out of your arm is a winner in my book.
- Po0py, on 01/08/2009, -0/+18Not sure I want or need five of em but a trilogy would be nice.

- IAmADiggAddict, on 01/08/2009, -10/+25Each Bioshock being 5 times worse, the second one will come, sales will be huge, the third will come sales will drop, the 4th wont see the day it leaves the box.
- Ouze, on 01/08/2009, -2/+17Gamers, would you kindly buy the 2k developers ferraris?
- parax, on 01/08/2009, -0/+14Mostly I'd like a multi-player Bioshock. Bioshock was cool but the diversity of those plasmids would've made for great multi-player stuff (team fortress sort of thing where each player chooses what kind of plasmid to have)
- Kosh, on 01/08/2009, -2/+16In all fairness, the other headline was crap.
- Charlotte_Web, on 01/08/2009, -0/+11I agree that once you reached a certain proficiency with it, the hacking should have been automatic.
I loved the game, too, but 5 sequels? It very much remains to be seen if they can sustain the magic that long.
Part of what made the game great was the unique vintage setting and the vintage soundtrack. The franchise will very much have a "been there, done that" feel to it by the second sequel. Or, maybe they are planning to progress it by decades (60's, 70', 80's, 90's, 00's)... that might be why they are considering five sequels. - xxMaxaroni, on 01/08/2009, -0/+11GOD-DAHM SPLOICERS
- Infowarsdotcom, on 01/08/2009, -11/+21That's weird...
Bioshock had awesome graphics but the game play was extremely bland and becomes monotonous after only an hour. I didn't even care to finish it. How much more could they possibly squeeze out of it?
Give me System Shock 3 before Bioshock 2. - subUrbanLEGEND, on 01/08/2009, -1/+11AHNDROO ROYAN
- JudgeMonkey, on 01/08/2009, -0/+10When you researched the cameras, flying turrets, and chair turrets, the hacking DID become automatic.
- Dumbledorito, on 01/08/2009, -0/+10I hadn't played "System Shock," but after recently playing "Bioshock" all the way through... I think it's not as groundbreaking as everyone says.
Yes, it's beautifully rendered. Yes, the underwater city and the setup is interesting. However, it's pretty much just another shooter with more mini-games strapped onto it. I really didn't mind this (I prefer story-based FPS's over straight "deathmatch" shooters) until the final boss fight, where, once again, it was a cliche "run, gun, and press a button four times to beat the bad guy."
Again, I enjoyed it well enough, but given that (1) death had no real downside and (2) the big daddy fights were pretty overbalanced against you (probably to compensate for #1) at the start, it started to feel like a movie where every so often the film would break and you had to go kill enough theater employees to get one to glue it back together again and start the projector. - Digilante, on 01/08/2009, -3/+13Who cares about [Ken Levine] anyway? The man has only one look, for Christ's sake! [Bioshock]? [System Shock 2]? [Thief: The Dark Project]? They're the same [game]! Doesn't anybody notice this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!
- ncc74656m, on 01/08/2009, -0/+10I could be into that, just don't make them suck! And make them harder like System Shock 2 was. THAT was a scary game.
"We are... The Many."
We really need more System Shocks while we're at it. SHODAN is NOT DEAD. - orlyfactor, on 01/08/2009, -2/+12Moral of the story: everyone has different tastes.
- latova, on 01/08/2009, -2/+11When they flat out say "we're going for 5 sequels", I doubt quality is the first thing they are thinking about.
- punx, on 01/08/2009, -0/+9pizza, you didn't save even ONE? Man, that's cold. But at least you get more Adam that way. But the ending is so much better when you rescue them all.
- Torley, on 01/08/2009, -0/+9Here's to the Bioshock-Saw crossover.
- Radan, on 01/08/2009, -0/+9Same here. I've never understood the publicity that Bioshock got. It's not a bad game, in fact it's a pretty good game, but way overrated. Played it through once; never touched it again However, I still play Halo 3 from time to time which everyone hated.
- aywwts4, on 01/08/2009, -1/+10What is weak about a game in where the ending includes a lifetime of emotional fulfillment as you grow old and die surrounded by those who love you? I thought it was one of the most interesting endings I have seen. Or did you kill all the little girls?
- Nauree, on 01/08/2009, -3/+12Waiting for Half-Life 3. Oh wait. Isn't announced yet...
- joegibes, on 01/09/2009, -0/+8So it's a trilogy in five parts?
- Whorebane, on 01/08/2009, -1/+9Who would buy the 90's sequel?
- spammishking, on 01/08/2009, -0/+8nope, it's the same *****, you could have dugg the other guys.
- UCBrother, on 01/08/2009, -0/+85 freaking sequels... lol that seems like a little much... But it can't be as bad as seeing more of 101 Bunny Pets coming out.. What hell is it with those games? When I was young we wouldn't be caught dead playing those things haha... Bring back the atari!
- punx, on 01/08/2009, -0/+8Good, because I would like to see how Rapture was built, who was behind it all, how it fell to pieces. Yes they explain it in the diaries, but I want to SEE it. I want to see when and how the Splicers became Splicers. How Tannenbaum, Suchong, Peach, etc became what they became. Lots of possibilities. I can't wait.
- codyp, on 01/08/2009, -2/+10Its not milking if the quality and storyline stay great. So we don't know that yet.
- Scrappy1850, on 01/08/2009, -0/+8more sander cohen please
- necromancer, on 01/08/2009, -2/+9I am going to have to veto your veto.
With my electrobolt plasmid. - Tonelico, on 01/08/2009, -3/+10It's never safe or smart to plan such grandiose spans of sequels, even if you think you have the story content. Just look at Tetsuya Takahashi and Xenogears / Xenosaga. Each of those franchises was planned to have five or six episodes. Gears got one (the rest is all described briefly in a Japanese art/info book). Saga got three (and the third one had to mash together the plots of other ones to make a coherent finished plot).
Granted Bioshock had more commercial success than those games, but it's still a dangerous statement to make, and even more dangerous to plan. I wouldn't think more than one or two games ahead of the current market. But then, I'm not an industry exec, so what do I know? :P - aelias, on 01/08/2009, -0/+7HL3 or GTFO.
- tdogg241, on 01/08/2009, -1/+8No kidding...there were WAY too many bees in that game!
- sandersdamnit, on 01/08/2009, -5/+12Actually Gore Verbinski (POTC 1,2,3 The Weatherman, The Ring) is directing it. You would know that if you took, oh I don't know, like two ***** seconds to google it..
http://tinyurl.com/82un3e - rebotfc, on 01/08/2009, -9/+16You mean we get to play System Shock 2 five more times?
- sanosuke001, on 01/08/2009, -0/+7We put a trilogy in your trilogy so you can play a trilogy while you play a trilogy, dawg!
- Dymphna, on 01/08/2009, -0/+7Newsflash: A decade is longer than a year
- soccerman90, on 01/08/2009, -1/+7i mean an hour after
- EtherGnat, on 01/08/2009, -0/+6A trilogy can have five parts. Reference the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
- Morreti, on 01/08/2009, -3/+9Can you blame them? They developed a great game...may as well stick to it as long as the demand is there.
- inactive, on 01/08/2009, -0/+6I clicked that... I feel bad now.
