- cameron074, on 10/12/2007, -2/+43I love Goldeneye.
- chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -3/+64Goldeneye toilets + remote mines FTW!
- digitaloxygen, on 10/12/2007, -13/+3Dugg for the Golden Eye, HL2, Battletoads, and Mafia levels. Played them all and they're all awesome.
PS. I've seen the following Battletoads level. You get to "surf" down a river and avoid whirlpools and other obstacles. Not as fast paced as the turbo tunnel level, but still great.
http://www.mobygames.com/images/shots/thumbnail/1126575221-02.png - ActiveMatx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I agree with Resident Evil 4.
But they should have mentioned Metal Gear Solid 3 - Jungle levels. Nothing beats crawling through the jungle as you covertly kill those bad guys.
Or Devil May Cry 3 levels have been awesome.
And they also should have mentioned Quake 2 "the edge" that level rocked. Screenshot of that level here incase you forgot the name: http://www.q2tdpm.pl/images/jumps/dm5/dm5-6.jpg - jblade, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Great list, but I would have to add opening scene from half-life 1. Once I sat through that, I knew the game would be awesome.
- technique, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18I love lamp.
- RoscoeP, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Do you really love lamp, or are you just saying it because you see it?
- OMGWTFROFLMAO, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13How could hey forget Unreal Tournament CTF-Face?
- d8cam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I played Facility on Goldeneye for two straight weeks after Christmas...I didn't even get to the easy Runway level until those TWO FULL WEEKS!
- TimDigg, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"Great list, but I would have to add opening scene from half-life 1. Once I sat through that, I knew the game would be awesome."
Sadly I've never completed played HL1 because I could never get past the intro, its one of those games I've always wanted to played, but it was just soooooooooooooooooooooo long, like 1 hour long....I don't mind cutscenes, but give me some action...I've completed HL2 however...excellent game - n1cza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4That image isn't "The Edge", the edge is Q2DM1 as seen here:
http://www.allegro.cc/depot/screenshots/1716_large.jpg
http://modcentral.planetquake.gamespy.com/q2dm1.jpg - StephenChow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8OMG it’d FTFW!
- ActiveMatx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh yes, you are correct my friend! My image isn't the edge! But you have to admit, it kinda looks like it..
Yeah, I miss that map... ahhhh those were the days.
- skifreak107, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21The description of RE4's opening credits made me laugh until it hurt
- AdamFitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21The first time the chainsaw guy caught me and just chopped off my head made me sit and just stare in disbelief.
- theonlybigboss, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2i made boom boom in my pants the first time that happend to me
^_^ ahhh good times - dainbramage559, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I gagged when Leon's head fell off. I just wasn't expecting it.
Then there were those acid spitting invisible spider things. When I saw chunks of flesh coming off of Leon's head from the acid wash, I had to put the controller down for a moment and catch my breath. - sooperdooper, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Zombie's in the room!!! His axe is on fire!!! Shoot him in the head!!!
- P3ST4, on 10/12/2007, -10/+24The Maw...Halo 1..enough said
cant believe its not there!- Dave, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19I think I've played Truth and Reconciliation (also Halo 1) enough times to wear a hole in the disc. It never gets old.
- rstarr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Silent Cartographer...? AOTCR...?
2 Best IMO.
Plus, AOTCR has the super secret music easter egg. - ImTheDarkcyde, on 10/12/2007, -32/+24the only 'of all time' you could put next to halo is 'most overrated game of all time'
- strictnein, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I'm a big fan of Two Betrayals. And, of course, Assault on the Control Room. Yes, they're basically mirror images of each other, but they play very differently.
- glguy, on 10/12/2007, -36/+2Sorry. As a rule, I always bury people that say "enough said" or any spelling thereof.
- rstarr, on 10/12/2007, -7/+27Oh god, you can't go 2 minutes on the front page without a troll coming out. I think we can all agree Halo gets more credit then is due, but it's a solid game and some of the most fun you can (legally) have on a console. So can we just drop it? It's over 5 years old now, lets move on. Mmmkay?
- uacheesehead, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Silent Cartographer FTW!
- somnus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I loved Silent Cartographer! First time I played it was on my dad's projector, and when the music comes on, you really feel like the game has started. It feels like humanity's battle for some reason, now that you're all gung-ho for battle alongside the marines. That, and the first beach battle, as well as the vastness of the level.
- shlemielo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Wow yeah, that music easter egg on AOTCR completely floored me.
Anyone do super jumps on Silent Cartographer? Old school style with nades and overshield and warthog, not that Halo 2 modded *****. - ricree, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Especially at the end, the maw was a great level. I don't know what happened between Halo and Halo 2, but hopefully Bungie learned their lesson here. A chaotic race through an exploding ship while your enemies are battling all around you is an awesome way to end the game. Fighting some random guy with a one hit kill weapon and a nearly invincible armor is not.
Besides that, I really liked Two Betrayals. Yes, they reused the level, but the atmosphere was completely different, and I had a really fun time playing through it. The music was really well used in this level, too. The part where you're exiting the tunnel to attack that last reactor is just awesome.
The Silent Cartographer's opening fight on the beach was very excellent too. I wasn't as big a fan of the interior, but the fight to get to the building was great.
Seriously, I'm not sure why people say that Halo had bad level design. Yes, the Library was a textbook example of what not to do, but there were so many other great levels that it really doesn't matter to me. - RudMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Halo 1 - 343 Guilty Spark.
I played Halo 1 in co-op mode with my brother-in-law. We went from fighting the Covenent to a sense of "something is strange here" to, when the Flood appears, "WTF IS THAT?". It totally changed the entire game.
- xportz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16http://www.duggmirror.com
- Crosshare, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13I'm kind of surprised that a well known blog like Destructoid is having this much trouble staying up.
- mrlost117, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I just clicked on the story before going comments, it looked as though it wasnt gonna load so I opened the comments in tab, and right as I did it loaded... however... it loaded from the duggmirror, automatically! New feature, did I miss this announcement?
- Sheir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15We're working on it guys. Growing pains.
You have to realize how quickly we've grown. We weren't prepared for this (Gamespot, 1up, Attack of the Show plugs). Niero is working hard on our switch to Elephant, and after that we should be smooth. Just have some patience... a lot of it. - dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"I'm kind of surprised that a well known blog like Destructoid is having this much trouble staying up."
No kidding. It seems habitual. I know you guys are "growing," but how are people expected to "come back to the store when they can't even get through the door?"
- socky, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Mario!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- nicku, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20Ah yes. Ravenholm in HL2. That was so much fun. Actually most of HL2 was extremely enjoyable and renewed my faith in game innovation.
- thcobbs, on 10/12/2007, -12/+5That was actually the point I decided I didn't want to play half life anymore.
My new daughter was asleep in another room and I thought... why the hell am I playing this f*cked up sh1t? I went and peeked in on my daughter, and then picked up a book and read while she slept. - Kingmichael, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Ravenholm is nice. However, it's hardly the best level in the game, in my opinion. What about Nova Prospekt, Entanglement, Follow Freeman, and Dark Energy? Water Hazard is great, too.
- geodescent, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1tcobbs, interesting that you mention that, because I also tired quickly of the zombies in HL2. They felt like filler material. I much rather preferred exacting some machine-gun pain on the soldiers.
- Rotkiv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ravenholm was extremely fun, but i think call of duty takes the cake, personally i would have chosen one of the vehicle chase levels, those were the most incredible game experiences i've ever had.
- thcobbs, on 10/12/2007, -12/+5That was actually the point I decided I didn't want to play half life anymore.
- Crosshare, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Stalingrad - Call of Duty
The first I've ever felt like I was in a movie or an actual event playing a game. Enemy at the Gates anyone? Love the part when all they do is hand you a magazine, and you have to go find a rifle off a dead countryman.- blinkfink182, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ditto! I got goosebumps playing that level.
- sjbdallas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Agreed. I was blown away by that game when I got to Stalingrad.
- Aeiri, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3I'd say Brother's In Arms is more realistic feeling than Call of Duty, especially the beach level in it. Either that or Medal of Honor Allied Assault.
- TimDigg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2YES~!!!!
The original COD...was the *****...
so was the original MOH
amazing how much those fel
MOH moreso than COD
- Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4My favorite level for any game was probably a level from Unreal called The Sunspire. The level is a gigantic outdoor area dominated by a massive 1000 foot+ tall stone spire surrounded by lava, and the entire level involves getting to the top. The spire was hollowed out and riddled with multiple floors and enemies. The music, the graphics (for the time), etc.. the whole thing was spectacular.
Second place, for me, probably goes to McKinley Base, an awesome CTF level for the original Quake. Not pretty so much as incredibly well designed for it's purpose.- strictnein, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Great call on McKinley Base. One of the best CTF levels in any game on any platform. Threewave CTF was so damn good.
- Lord_oftheTrons, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2McKinley Base was great. Here are my fav q1 thru q3 lvls
Q1
q1dm3
q1dm6 - the dark zone great one
q2dm2 - claustrolphoolboboisis - could never spell that one
q3
ra3map1 - thunderstruck - obviously
ra3map9 - the mummy
- totorototoro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13that was a great Colossus level.
- dj_sea2005, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Indeed it was! although i feel that the flying one in the desert is better (number 13 i think)
it takes the same themes as the one mentioned, but adds more horse-back action and a bigger thing to kill.
i think i might just dig that game out now... - Sedako, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I was actually playing SotC earlier today.. I'd still say that my favorite colossus is #3, the first time you walk up to the top of that giant platform and he just gets up and starts trying to crush you.. such an epic fight. Makes me wish Sony would just focus on making games. SCEA has put out a lot of masterpieces.
- Ayavaron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I enjoy how he says that if you don't feel remorse after that level, then you have no soul.
According to him, I am a soulless robot.
That level was really awesome though. It was so exciting and intense, climbing on the wings. I starting standing up while I played that one.
- dj_sea2005, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Indeed it was! although i feel that the flying one in the desert is better (number 13 i think)
- musntSurfatWork, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8Dune2 - from westwood Studios brought us Command & Conquer, and all those cheezy spinoffs like Starcraft and Warcraft
Leisure Suit Larry1 - In the land of the lounge lizards. Sierra Adventures at its best. I learned how to seduce your moms.- nicku, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Would that be the CGA original or the VGA remake? Those games were great. I have a boxed copy of LSL3 in my office.
- musntSurfatWork, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5only originals. I'm oldschool. Why are we being dugg down? You young newbies were born too late I'm afraid. Get yourselves an AMIGA 500 or 2000 from ebay, with 300 games, and you will see why current games suck harder than a bloodless leech.
- Miyazaki, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Dugg for Beyond Good and Evil love
- Trax852, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5
I really enjoyed playing Beyond Good and Evil, and highly suggest it.
- Trax852, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5
- Abatrour, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Bridge Crossing in Americas Army
- Kinmar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Facility in Golden Eye with no shooting, only Proximity Mines. One(or more) player sets the mines while the other player is in the crapper (both in game and IRL). The mine guy hides pointing at a wall as to not give away his position. Then the guy in the bathroom comes out with only a rifle with zoom abilities and carefully tries to find the guy(s) who placed the mines. Sniping mines off doors to make sure they are safe to walk through. BRILLIANT
- somnus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I loved the original console "mods" like this where you use your imagination to create a new game within the confines of the rules. I remember in Mario Kart 64 with the block level, we would get one person to kill themselves before anyone moved, and become a moving bomb with infinite lives, then they would chase us all around. Eventually you would have 3 bombs after one guy!
- DiggityDugged, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4"I'm kind of surprised that a well known blog like Destructoid is having this much trouble staying up."
Destructoid is tripling their servers in the next month :) - staticneuron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I entirely agree with the RE4 intro. I cannot choose just one level/boss out of shadows, I thought the entire game was brilliant. Also I would love to see metal gear solid 3 on the list. The stage where you fight the end was absolute fun.
- ImTheDarkcyde, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4If I were to put something on the list it would probably be either the Water Temple from Zelda:OoT, or any of the Address Unknown levels in Max Payne 2
- tomakun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I enjoyed the Water Dungeon in Zelda LTP. Something about using the hookshot to move between the upper platforms was really fun. Definitely my favorite dungeon of all time.
- slipsec, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3aah, but have you ever played the Max Payne 'drug-levels' ON DRUGS?!?!
- chaimpot0k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The water temple was ***** torture. Definitely the worst dungeon in the game.
- GhengisKhan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Diablo 2 LOD, Hell Mode, Chaos Sanctuary. Fire enchanted, fanaticized Oblivion Knights. Nothing scarrier.
http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/monsters/act4-undeadhorror.shtml- DaceDiath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Only really scary on Hardcore :P
- edzieba, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Timesplitters: Planet X.
Double-miniguns FTW. - tito13kfm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Super Mario Brothers, 1-2
First warp pipe, great music, moving platforms, secret entrance to the glitched underwater level. This level had everything except bullet bill.
Worms - Any multi level cavern level
Being able to ninjarope from the very bottom left corner, to the weapon box that is in the very top right corner, land, and launch a supersheep before your turn ends was so much fun.
Duke Nukem 3d - The level where you get to throw money at strippers... Nuff said.- plagiats, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah and on that same level, just before the dancers, you could play pool !
- tito13kfm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Yeah and on that same level, just before the dancers, you could play pool !"
Lol, I forgot that was the same level..
In college we were bored of playing lan Worms and Quake, and our only n64 was in about 300 pieces (never trust the business major who says "trust me, I can fix it"), so we attempted to have a pool tournament in game. It didn't work too well because when you missed a shot you just pulled out your shotgun and shot your opponent.
- plagiats, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Don't you remember the first level of Duke Nukem 3D ? Impressive, full of hidden secret places, yet a bit small but with all the spirit of Duke nukem : The dancing girl, the modified ad, etc.
First one was really a good one. And so were lot of levels of Duke Nukem 3D. Thank you Level Lord if you ever read this.- ZackScott, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3My favorite level of all time in Duke 3D is Rapid Transit. I used to play deathmatch with my friend over 56k modem, and we mastered that level. We used to be able to have an all out fight in the middle of the track, jump onto the subway car (through the window) while on the track, and then jump off. We were experts.
- BobArdKor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Dugg. E1L1 for DN3D = best level of all times
- CAvenger, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Noticeably missing:
The Milkman Conspiracy - Psychonauts
I suppose the site can't be faulted since very few people have even played this game.
Related article - http://www.escapistmagazine.com/issue/67/9- evilspoons, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4For sure. That level was awesome. There are also some great sequences in "Giants: Citizen Kabuto" (Aah! I see you brought your twin sister!), but yet again, hardly anyone's played that game either.
I'm glad there was no freakin' cs_dust on this list, haha. Out of the ones I'm familiar with I agree though. Reminds me, I need to get Beyond Good & Evil working again so I can finish it! - Subcide, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I totally agree with you on this one, most levels in Psychonauts were fantastic though.
- kzos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@evilspoons: Of course cs_dust wouldn't be on the list, but de_dust2 should DEFINITELY be on there. Overplayed levels aren't always bad...
- afpunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That was the first one I thought of from Psychonauts as well, though looking back, at least half of the levels could legitimately make a list like this. Lungfishopolis would certainly be second, but Meat Circus and the tactical war game one are close behind.
- Lord_oftheTrons, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The bullfighting level was visually great. Looked like a blacklight infested nightmare. Great game.
- evilspoons, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4For sure. That level was awesome. There are also some great sequences in "Giants: Citizen Kabuto" (Aah! I see you brought your twin sister!), but yet again, hardly anyone's played that game either.
- dougmidkiff, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2For even more fun on Wario stadium you can use the shortcut. The rolling hills at the start provide you enough height to jump over the wall and skip a large part of the course. Fun times.
Also, I beat that damn battletoads level. However I couln't beat the game. I got stuck in some level with huge snakes. That game is crazy, it is so long you can max out the high score and not be done with the game. - AudioPhil3, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2heh. Funny secret Text behind the images.
- Quakes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6"Secret text behind the images"? That's called the alt attribute.
- techlinks, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Sorry, I can't digg this, they dissed the Matrix.
Otherwise I agree. :D- Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4They didn't diss the Matrix, they digged the horrible sequels.
- TimDigg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2emphasis on HORRIBLE sequels
- K-Flow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4what? no level from "big land" in maro 3?
- mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Black and White level of Kirby's Adventure... the rest of the game was all in color and when you got to this level you were like "Oh *****, its just like playing gameboy"
- musntSurfatWork, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Track & Field, trying to clear the bar on a high jump of 2.55 meters broke the two run buttons on the arcade.
Punch-Out! - Pizza Pasta guy....left,left,left,left,left,.......,left,left,Uppercut! - undersky, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Best video game of all time is Counter-Strike; best level (map) of CS is ky_legoland.
What others maps do you guys like? - Maondas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1My vote goes to Quake 1 - DM6 (1 v 1) and DM3 (team play)
I'm sure Quake fiends can picture those maps instantly.
I'm Quad I'm Quad!!- Lord_oftheTrons, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1dm6 1on1 was great. Camp the red armor/rocket launcher got a little old though.
- sruffelman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The flying colossus at the lake was absolutely amazing.
What about the tanker from MGS2? I played that over and over.- Soniti, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Same... The tanker part was amazing... I wish the whole game held that tempo...
Or even let you play as Snake... And don't pull out that "But j00 can ply as t3h sn4ke in Substance!!!111"
It wasn't right..
~Soniti
- Soniti, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Same... The tanker part was amazing... I wish the whole game held that tempo...
- iamausername, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I used to play tripmine wars in duke nukem 3d.. don't know why i thougth of that, was much fun tho.
only rule was to try and kill the other person (or trap rather) using just tripmines.
was so much fun trying to trap the other person. - Kremzeek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1My favorite not already mentioned here has to be DM2 from the original Quake. Wow, what a great level that was.
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I always like Return to Castle Wolfenstien MP's Beach map. It pretty much ruled for me.
- emporio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree... i still play it sometimes :)
- Veamon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5How about the Death Star Trench run in the OLD Starwars arcade version? The one where everything is mainly just wireframed squares.
- iLEZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Little big adventure anyone? In LBA2, when you first step outside and stroll around and notice that this is the greatest game you have ever played. Also when you eventually get to Desert Island and go into the entertainment park. "CAREFUL sir, KEEP of the grass!".
And the firt time you venture up into the mountains on your home island and meet that wacky character collecting "mushrooms". Ah, i could go on forever. - magestic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3MDK FTW
- vhmalex, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Max Payne 1.
The parking lot.
'nuff said. - mt066, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13what about that level in tetris where the blocks fell down
- sjbdallas, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3or when you get to the elevators in donkey kong?
- mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Quake 3.... the space capture the flag map... sorry havent played in a while and forgot what it was called... but 5 years ago that was the level everyone played...
- technique, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Q3DM17 baby!
Q3CTF4
- technique, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Q3DM17 baby!
- LilGator, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Where's DEUS EX !!!
wow, so many memorable moments in that game ...- Hootyea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The great part in that game, is that they weren't so much as levels, as a blend of events.
- warox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I nominate a few multiplayer FPS maps:
de_dust - the classic cstrike level
The Longest Yard - Q3 - rail gun pwnage
Unreal Tournament - forget the name of the lvl but the CTF map with the two huge towers that was a snipe fest.- technique, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3doh sorry bury, lather, rinse, repeat.
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It was Facing Worlds, and YES, a guy with a sniper rifle at the top of those towers was DEADLY!
- technique, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3doh sorry bury, lather, rinse, repeat.
- benlebar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Pshhhhh, I don't know why MYST Island wasn't in their list. :-P
- iamausername, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2oh, I liked the normandy'ish level on unreal tournament
the third chapter of betrayal at krondor (back in the day)
halflife:surface tension (i think, the one where you start fighting the marines)
although possibly not the best level, when you get the super grav gun in halflife2, yay for ragdoll physics
mario circuit in mario kart, and mario kart 3d
other mentions: zelda 3, dues ex, syndicate, privateer, space quest 3, wonderboy 3, red alert (the first multiplayer level), star control 2, bubble bobble, lemmings, stunts and cryodill in oblivion ;) - tabledesk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You think you're safe for about five seconds, before A GODDAMN CHAINSAW-WIELDING PSYCHO WITH A BAG ON HIS HEAD!
- Recluse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Haha I can beat the 3rd battletoads level. I'm the only person I know among my friends that ever could.
- ricree, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Finally beating that level for the first time was definitely one of the more satisfying gaming moments ever. Unfortunately, I never did get around to finishing the game.
- adamsucks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2My personal favorite level in any game, on any platform, of all time:
The Shalebridge Cradle level in Thief 3: Deadly Shadows
Rated the scariest level in a video game by numerous magazines and online publications. There's no way to describe it.. but it does what even movies can't do in terms of scaring the viewer/player. It was an absolutely unforgettable experience for me. It puts Silent Hill to shame, that's for sure.
The rest of the game isn't meant to be scary.. that's partly why it has such an impact on the player. They don't expect it.. it comes out of nowhere, but still manages to keep a smooth pace in the game. - deweyhewson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm surprised he didn't mention the beginning of Wario Stadium - jump the wall, skip half the track, the best shortcut in a racing game ever!
- lostradamus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4No Omaha Beach from Medal of Honor? Blatant rip-off of Saving Private Ryan but still a great level.
- d8cam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I agree. Allied Assault was the king of PC games for a few months after it came out.
- nakatomiplaza, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I'm an original Nintendo guy, and I would have liked to have seen more from THE classic system. I would have really liked to see something from Contra, which was such a lovely game. Probably the ice level.
- nicroma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Dugg for Beyond Good & Evil being in there. Such an incredible game. :)
- adamsucks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Agreed. Such a shame the sales were so bad. That was one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played.
AFAIK, they will never produce the sequel.. even though the ending of the first one was left wide open. :(
