- eclectro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, don't tell anybody about this so it doesn't end up on digg.
- wtfunkymonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you're thinking about signing up for this free XM airware you my want to notice this clause
"You certify that you are a current employee of this retail partner and agree that XM Satellite Radio reserves the right to charge the full MSRP of $299.99 plus other applicable fees and taxes at any time if this information provided to access this site is inaccurate."
be prepared to have to pay well over $350 for it. - ThisGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wow, if as many people send away for a free sattelite radio as have dugg this, then I am in serious trouble.
*hides under the stairs from Best Buy's lawyer-monkey-ninja-soldiers* - mikedpirone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the employees not being allowed to buy them is normal as with most retail outfits. if you work at the store you are not allowed to buy them until a set date because it gives you an unfair advantage over normal customers because you know when or if you have the product and you also can just take the product from the back and have it rung up before its available to the customers in which a riot would ensue.
- TheEditor1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think this comments sums it up nicely, since I wrote it :)
http://www.digg.com/gaming/Pictures_of_the_Xbox_360_Japan_Launch_vs._US_Launch - ThisGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just for legallities sake, I had no idea that the xm2go code was on that document, and I in no part meant for anyone to use it as a means to defraud Best Buy.
:) - SkidMarks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2More interesting may be the free xm2go radio for BB employees (see left column). May be worth a shot to try ordering?
- Mabu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have a better idea.
Let's pool our money and pick up one on eBay, then take a few cameras to a Best Buy store and hold a contest to see what pathetic line-waiting dweeb will humiliate himself the most for the chance to get one. Then we edit the tape and put it online in some sort of PSA promoting a more healthy, outdoors lifestyle. - vonskippy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1BFD - another Best Buy / Xbox 360 article. Does anyone care? If so, perhaps you should be shopping for a life instead of another gaming console.
- emberwolf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And paypal has something to do with this why?
- WackyT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks like XM is going have a good sales day after they charge you fools the $299.99+.
- ThisGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This ain't fair, I mean come on, my first front page story, well on it's way to getting 2000 diggs (humour me) and it's ripped assunder while I slept. Twas a good story too, Best Buy 360 shipment cover up, plus a free $300 radio, diggnation bound i tell thee. But no...
- Chilblain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I work for Best Buy Canada, we have confirmed that we are getting some XBox 360s sometime midweek, not to be sold before December 24th. No word on who is getting how many, but last time we recieved 30, and we're a smaller store. Hope you US guys get some too. btw, PS3 will pwn 360 anyways
- phillyjack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0we need dates people anyone work at BB in the philly area.
- WikiTerra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I digg just for the free XM.
- ThisGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This story seems to have disapeared from the front page. I have no idea how or why.
- gnomemage7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Umm the document definitly is fake...I work at Best Buy in MA and I just compared the retail insider for dec 20 to this one...it's not the same at all and there is no mention of the 360
- jflint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The story doesn't even show up in the search results for Best Buy, 360, or handshake.
It's a conspiracy! - ThisGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I realise that seeing as this stroy has disapeared from digg then noone will be reading this, but just in case, does anyone have any idea where it's gone? 1103 diggs and overnight its disapeared, am i being really stupid and missing something obvious? whats going on?
- Dmatias, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0gnomemage7 i too work at bb 532 in MA and i have seen this one, i highly doubt that someone went through the trouble of making a fake ad. If they did then they either hacked xmradio's website and added the secret code or they stumbled upon a real giveawy, added the fact that two two sku's on call of duty and tony hawk. But ya i guess they felt like making a fake ad like i saw ad work
- merdeisel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0WHATS THE DATE?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It never says WHICH retailer, all you can do is say that a friend of yours at your job gave it to you.
- silentauthority, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0More interesting may be the free xm2go radio for BB employees (see left column). May be worth a shot to try ordering?
Circuit city did this w/ my brother last year, and he's hooked to it. It's pretty nice, esp. since you can record five hours or so. - JesseH, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Who cares about the 360? There is no killer app for the console as of yet. Until they can bring out a must get title im not interested.
- jflint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I saw it before it was pulled from the frontpage/site, and just bookmarked it. you can still get to it if you know the URL of the post.
- Esstee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That document is fake
- iskatebad914, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0dude. this better not be ***** real i want an xbox! i work there and it ***** sucks. ARGH!
- floppytaco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Come on dude is it really that hard to figure out why this was pulled. You had that free radio code in the article that wasn't supposed to be leaked. The wrong people saw it and it got yanked. Sorry.
- shawn26, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0who knows a date?
- Dmatias, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Esstee This document is absolutly not fake, i work at best buy and i can verify that it is real, butthe best buy stores acctully have no idea when there shipments come, it is all related to when microsoft gets some to the bestbuy warehouse
- MalDON, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I would like to know why people think that the playstation 3 will be any better. There will be a shortage, there will be probalems they they find, such as over heating, so this is just stupid. All the playstation 3 is, is an overpriced computer with one too many video cards.
- cynapz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0BesT Buy Blows... not iving up to their naame, should change it to "Best steaming pile of bullcrap with flies all over it Buy"
- kevincw01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, the XM deal is for all large corporations. Boeing has the free XM deal and as some other guy mentioned, we get 15% off verizon too.
- allthewhile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you get the xm to go and don't keep the xm subscription you get charged 250 dollars. No thanks.
- larfus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I probably will be delivering their 360 shipments. =)
- J.Pizzack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ok, this article doesnt mean anything at all. it is suggesting that IF a store were to get more product, this is how they handle it. i dont understand what the title of this digg has to do with the actual best by retail insider flier thing. apparently nobody here knew abt the site that a best buy employee made where he leaked all the stores inventories of the 360's that were to arrive on saturday when they did
- ThisGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I know, what the hell is going on? And out of interest, how did you find it?
- fushin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"how come we never see any leaks from other electronic retailers? don't they have some disgruntle employees too?"
Best buy is on a level of it's own. How many others have a website just about how bad they suck?

um, walmart

And Toys R Us.

On topic... I think all this proves is that shipments are finally picking up. Too bad it's this close to Christmas. - Schwab, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"ok, this article doesnt mean anything at all. it is suggesting that IF a store were to get more product, this is how ..." seriously did you not read the article or something. The first line reads "This Week All Stores will get an additional shipment.." So either you didn't read or are mentally retarded and just wanted to say something. My guess is both
- ezkiel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"You certify that you are a current employee of this retail partner and agree that XM Satellite Radio reserves the right to charge the full MSRP of $299.99 plus other applicable fees and taxes at any time if this information provided to access this site is inaccurate."
Is very important for the XM radio disclaimer.
You know they will have a ton of applicable fees too. Not worth it. You could try if you wished to defraud BestBuy (and I dont and cant, cause im in Canada) you could ship to a new housing development and leave a message for the deliverer to leave at back or whatever. Don't recommend this it is just something I read. Don't defraud bestbuy. - shawn26, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0does anyone work at best buys and wants to email me when ther store gets some shawn26@gmail.com
- sintaks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@SkidMarks
I used to work at Best Buy. They hand out free XM Radios every year, it seems. Just have to pay for the service (at a discount, of course).
BB Employees also got 15% off cellular service through Verizon last year. Whether or not this deal is still active, I don't know, but that kind of stuff happens all the time.
Often, BB Emps get will get a free DVD each day they sell so many Service Plans.
Another thing of note: Each year, Best Buy budgets shrinkage. They assume that X amount will be stolen each year. At the end of the year, money not lost in shrinkage is split among the employees, and usually amounts to a few hundred dollars.
Just some interesting tidbits.
Oh! Another bad one... You know how you can buy a Service Plan for laptops? Well, it's an unspoken rule that as a Best Buy employee, you can bring in your year-old laptop for a new one (so long as the laptop is "broken"). We actually had a "tool" in the back of the shop used for frying otherwise perfectly good laptops. They would then be shipped off for repair, and the service center would send back a Return Authorization number. This is one of the reasons I ended up leaving... such unethical practices... Funny thing? Management did it all the time. - jk47h3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0just recieved it and listening to it now!!
- neilsly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://putfile.com.nyud.net:8090/pic.php?pic=12/35300151048.jpg&s=x11
- iSEPIC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Get your 360 from costco.com - preorder it in Oct, delivered Nov 23, no problem no lines, nothing, plus you can take it back anytime, even next year if the PS3 is all that much better.
- SecularG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the access code works but...
By accepting the terms and conditions of the offer and placing an order on this site, you certify that you are a current employee of this retail partner and agree that XM Satellite Radio reserves the right to charge the full MSRP plus other applicable fees and taxes at any time if this information provided to access this site is inaccurate. - ElectricGrandpa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the XM thing isn't actually that good of a deal, you still have to play for a minimum 6 months of service....
- jk47h3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0just got my tracking number for the free xm radio :-D....
- ZacT1984, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0With the way people are fighting over 360's there is no way in hell the PS3 is going to stay in stock. The same people who got the 360 on the first night are going to be the same who get the PS3 just to have both.
