- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27I felt a collective cheer in the nerd-force just now, as if a million mice clicked in unison.
- punchingjudy, on 10/12/2007, -6/+20Exclusive? Screw that. I'd rather play it on my PC.
- BassCadet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Vivendi Games?
Come on....does anybody here expect this game to *not* suck? - Bara, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13w00t! Just makes me more glad that I bought an Xbox 360 over the Wii or PS3.
- dillona, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Yeah....really.
I mean, show me a good game by Vivendi. As if anyone plays World of Warcraft. - HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Get ready for the usual Vivendi crap job.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Exactly. I have no problem with it being on the 360, but the exclusivity deal is really too bad.
It'll be interesting if they make it an MMO or not. - HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Now show me a good Vivendi game what wasn't done by Blizzard.
Vivendi owns Blizzard, they aren't the same thing though. - ShadySpace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I don't see how this could work. The new BSG isn't called the best show on television because of how ***** gets blown up by anonymous Raiders and Vipers, it's the character development/interaction and allegory-filled plots.
- contradictator, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I just hope it's based on the new Galactica, not the 70's stuff.
- Desslok, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3MMORPG = many, many thousands of players
BG entire population of human race = about 42,500 people
It is quite conceivable there will be more players than there are humans left in the BG universe. - Stonedonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@ Machismo
As it turns out, FEAR was made by Monolith, and Caesar 4 was by Tilted Mill. Monolith also split with them shortly thereafter and are making their own unlicensed sequel, last I heard. - adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I kinda agree, I don't see how a MMORPG could work. Defend the ship, attack a ship, defend the shipt, attack a ship.
- totorototoro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Great. 50,000 Tricia Helfers and Grace Parks online, all played by 15 year old guys.
- modifiedbears, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2no they love investing in XNA because they know the easier/cheaper it is to make games for their console the more developers will want to get on board with them.
- brainded, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I have no clue how it will work but i dont care. BSG is the best sci fi in years.
- DeathSun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It seems odd that everyone acts like this is the first Battlestar game. I mean, wasn't there one released when the SciFi series first started showing the miniseries (http://battlestargalacticagame.com/)? I remember there even being cheat codes they gave out during the miniseries breaks as a promotional deal.
- whahaa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2
crappy video game adaptations have happened before.
crappy video game adaptations will happen again.
these are the first words of the sacred video game faq scrolls. - Lionhart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Uh, no. Vivendi owns Blizzard which put out WoW. Blizzard is the only talented division of Vivendi games, and they won't be working on this. And even now a ton of the talented Blizzard devs left Blizzard a while ago.
- Aharoni, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2As opposed to Sony who doesn't do anything and... well, do I even have to finish that sentence?
- sardion2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bah, It's on the 360 so all an Exclusive means is no PS3/Wii version. Trust me, it will come to PC eventually. Gates needs to pimp Vista now remember?
Whahaa, that's what I'm hoping. Here's hoping for a BSG Tie Fighter!!! - sardion2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It would be much better to do this XWing vs Tie Fighter style. I can only wish. MMO's are where the money's at these days...
- modifiedbears, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1that logic might hold true if there was a single server that could hold that many people
- interrogate, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3As much as I love Battlestar, I don't think it'll translate very well to a game, like most movies/television shows. Hope this isn't just the creators trying to make a quick buck.
- BabyWookie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Umm, I'm not really into MMORPGs, as they take too much time and involvement, but I would love to see a single player BSG flying game for the 360 or any decent flying game with gext gen graphics for that matter.
- Machismo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Actually, VU Games makes some of the best games out there. FEAR and Caesar 4 are the ones that I think of. They have made some excellent movie-based video games. Even when the movie sucks, I have been impressed.
VU also owns good old Sierra and goes by that name in the US. The only Sierra game they screwed up was Leisure Suit Larry. The others, they did OK. - whahaa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i think the MMO they've got planned will be for PC. this is more likely a space fighter sim. just my guess.
- sh4rkb1t3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Microsoft loves paying companies to make games exclusive to their console.
- FlakPyro, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3umm did anyone say this was ever a ps3 exclusive? kthxbye
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1hahaah "news" from destructoid...sure
report as inaccurate. - pollardito, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0"Vivendi Games?
Come on....does anybody here expect this game to *not* suck?"
Vivendi put out WoW (http://games.ign.com/objects/027/027767.html), there are millions of people that think this might not suck - sardion2000, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1As if anyone plays WoW? I hope you're being sarcastic.
- twtmc, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3This will suck if it's an mmorpg. Hopefully they won't bastardize it with one.
- eizooo, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4Is there any ps3 exclusive left?
Unbelievable, Sony lost it all.
