Battlefield 2142 demo release date and details revealed! *Official*

younewb.com — The Battlefield 2142 demo is almost upon us! EA is going to span out the release of the demo over the next few days across a few sites, probably to keep us from clogging the internets.

  • Artifez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Great game, a lot of the BF2 vets don't like how different it is but that's exactly why I like it, nade spam on Karkand gets a bit dull after 5000 TKs. I recommend trying it to all those on the fence, the beta converted me.

    • brundlefly76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Well, IMHO, BF2:Special Forces, which sorta just a BF2 add-on, has the best gameplay of the entire BF series. I cant play regular BF2 anymore because the squadplay isnt as rewarding as SF.

      I ordered over EA downloader but to be perfectly honest I wish everyone would get it tommorrow so we have plenty of servers.

      lol - You know, bittorrent isn't just about illegal downloads, it is a really good way to distribute something with minimal load on your servers - sound familiar? This is a perfect use for bittorrent.

I will say I'm not excited about the release of 2142 because of the lame "patches" released for vanilla. Finish a product then sell it. Don't release something because of a deadline then fix it on the fly and cause more problems. I totally expect it EA/DICE to pull the same crap w/2142
    • pushmouse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I completely agree with you. I'll wait for the demo. None of the patches have fixed BF2 and i do love the game-play its just..I want the thing to work. Not a night goes by that several members of my squad will be plagued by crashes to desktops, missiles that go through jeeps, red/blue tag errors and on and on. EA has a great game. If they would just fix it before making us pay for broken expansion packs and "new" games (AKA BF2142) that are just mods running on the same broken engine. I can dream, can't I?

    Oh and of course I preordered it too, should be here the 10th or 11th.

    Just FYI - it really isn't that cool. BF2 was MUCH more fun.

    Although I have to say, it was so ridden with bugs it was laughable. I hope they've ironed them all out in the short time between beta and gold......
