- Powerfan5000, on 07/13/2009, -2/+47You got frontpage on your first day?
Hmmmmmmmm! - inactive, on 07/13/2009, -3/+44Only 24 people? That's *****. Bring back the 64 person maps.
- jmb93, on 07/13/2009, -1/+27I like the Battlefield 1943. And unlike Ars, I have yet to be rejected from a game.
- NuttyVirus, on 07/13/2009, -2/+22I bought this off the psn last thursday and I haven't been able to go back to any other game. Super fun addicting game a must buy.
- ethanpeirce, on 07/13/2009, -0/+18Dugg for being able to Kamikaze people with an airplane.
- CoD4, on 07/13/2009, -2/+16The ps3 version has absolutely no problems whatsoever.
Those of you who missed out on Bad Company because of ahem ahem other fps games can pick it up for $15.99
http://www.amazon.com/Battlefield-Bad-Company-Play ... - Wheelingdude86, on 07/13/2009, -1/+15It's worth the $15...
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -12/+26hey look they took bf and dumbed it down for the console smacktards.
They should add the new graphics and explodability of everything to bf1942 gameplay and have 64 players per team for the real version in september. - TranquilNight, on 07/13/2009, -1/+14Using digg as an advertisement service.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm! - justdru, on 07/13/2009, -1/+14I think we have an IMPOSTER!
- lukeatron, on 07/13/2009, -1/+12I would call that a very accurate assessment.
- IndigoMoss, on 07/13/2009, -6/+17So basically, it's not Battlefield, but a caricature of its former self.
- B1665r, on 07/13/2009, -1/+12Its been a few years since I played '42 but I distincly remember most gameplay being on 32 person servers, and that was plenty of people even on those giant maps...
- grantmoore3d, on 07/13/2009, -2/+11After having played BF2 on the PC, trying the demo last night for 1943 was a huge disappointment.
- Tyrghast, on 07/13/2009, -3/+12This is the bastard, not as fun child of BF1942 and EA
- Quizboy, on 07/13/2009, -2/+10I will go ahead and say that this game has the most value for its price. I have already spent 20+hrs playing this since its release 5 days ago and I'm still addicted to it.
- bradleyland, on 07/13/2009, -0/+7Honestly, everything "Battlefield" since BF2 has been a disappointment.
- TriplePlay2425, on 07/13/2009, -0/+7I bought this on launch day for my PS3, downloaded and installed quickly with no problems. I jumped right into a game and had a blast.
This game is a great deal for only $15. I won't say it's worth the $60 price tag that most decent console games have nowadays, but it's more than worth $15. It's very fun.
And I am also yet to be rejected from a game. Or have any sort of problems whatsoever (although I did suddenly do an instant 180 or something like that once as soon as an enemy shot me, so I didn't even get a chance to put up a fight, but that's only happened once so far and may have been lag on my part, I dunno). - MrBogard, on 07/13/2009, -1/+8There is no real version. They're not going to do much to the PC version. Just watch... we'll get 64 players and a prone stance and that's that. It still will be Battlefield Jr.
- TranquilNight, on 07/13/2009, -0/+6forgot the "Hmmmmmmmmmmmm!"
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -0/+5I'm hoping they took the good parts of Bad Company and tweaked the multilayer experience. I felt like Bad Company was about five percent away from being awesome, but it just missed the mark by a touch. Hopefully this will hit it.
- hookai, on 07/13/2009, -2/+7Battlefield 500: Internal Service Error
- lukeatron, on 07/13/2009, -0/+5I would say 1943 is about 2.5% away from being awesome then. It's worth the $15 though. My biggest gripe is that the game play never really develops into anything more than what's right in front of you the first time you jump in. 1942 and especially BF2 are multiple orders of magnitude more substantial products.
Now if only EA/Dice would give a ***** about fixing the ***** they've shoved out the door after your money is in their hands. If past experience is any indication, we'll be lucky if there's even one guy whose full time job it is to support this title. ***** their ***** business model. - dikky, on 07/13/2009, -0/+5i don't get why EA loves to dumb this series down. Didn't BF2 sell over 8 million copies?
- Cockslap, on 07/14/2009, -2/+7....and fun.
- CoD4, on 07/13/2009, -1/+6Does warhawk let you play in fps mode or third person only? I don't really play third person shooting games, feels unnatural.
I'm gonna dl the demo - Spire3660, on 07/13/2009, -0/+4Why do you need a separate EA account on LIVE? isnt the whole point of LIVE that its a unified login? Isnt that what you pay for? I am REALLY concerned with GaaS (Games as a serviec )trend we are seeing across the entire spectra of gaming.
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -2/+6only on UT3
- serhiyk, on 07/13/2009, -1/+5Battlefield Heroes anyone?
- Kinsbane, on 07/14/2009, -0/+4I wasn't terribly surprised when I downloaded the demo and could only play two rounds before it exited and flatly told me, "Buy the game."
- WhereAmI, on 07/13/2009, -1/+5@Hetman
Thats why Sony allowed keyboard/mouse on the PS3, ie UT3. Now if game developers would add support all would be fine. - Cockslap, on 07/14/2009, -0/+4***** is free.... doesnt mean its fun.
- MasterGrief, on 07/13/2009, -0/+4I made it a point to avoid information about this game for a long time-- I know how badly you can get burned if you look forward to a new title too much. I was pleasantly surprised when I downloaded it and started playing it on release day, but the game is still not what I had really hoped for. It's definitely Battlefield, and it's definitely World War Two, but it's just not as epic as it used to be.
- Postalwrker27, on 07/13/2009, -0/+4Its an arcade game, yknow. Its not a $60 game.
- Chairboy, on 07/13/2009, -4/+7I loved BF1942, and some of the selective complexity in BF2 (compared to the Desert Combat mod for BF1942) made it harder to enjoy than the original. It's not all ADHD on my part, some of the changes they made for BF2 really dumbed things down in stupid ways, like flying helicopters.
I'm guessing that as WWII was relatively unencumbered by choppers, this shouldn't be a problem, but it was always a very pretty game with some nice arcadey fun, so I'm not offended by this new version yet.
I think.
Maybe I should go download it first and tr- ooh! shiny! - bratterscain, on 07/13/2009, -1/+4A douche for thinking a game they bought was boring and not wanting to buy another game you have a different opinion on? FFS, is it just me or is the world totally too antagonistic and misunderstanding?
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3I agree. It's awesome how you can't play a single game of B/C without some ***** going on a T/K rampage. And they didn't bother patching it with some sort of reporting mechanism, moderation etc. It just sits their rotting. Not impressed.
- Quizboy, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3They have already doubled the amount of servers for the 360. I can get in a game first try, no problem.
- 2Bnor2B, on 07/13/2009, -1/+4I love the statement the author made, it should become part of EA's byline.
EA GAMES
The company that is more interested in selling you a store than a product. - superkendall, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3A little too easy, I played for about six hours before I realized there was a tutorial!
- specialK16, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3Is there a demo of this game in the PSN store?
- jordanlgta, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3Are you Borat??? "I like the Battlefield 1943." You should have added "very niiice" to the end.
- MrBogard, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3Wake is *plenty* big enough for 64 people. It's not the map size that's the limitation here.
- MrBogard, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3A wrench and squads still isn't even a fraction of the variety and class dependence that you'll see in a game like BF2 or even 2142.
- Super6, on 07/14/2009, -0/+3DC choppers were totally unrealistic, you could do 10 flips with 300' of altitude and the throttle was too responsive. In BF2 the throttle has the latency of a real chopper and if you knew how to fly you'd have no problems buzzing the ground. They didn't dumb down the choppers, they made them more realistic and you didn't keep up.
- CoD4, on 07/14/2009, -0/+2I'm surprised more people didn't mention this, i have a regular sdtv as well and the text is just retarded, you can't read *****. A lot of ps3 games are like this, if you don't have hd you're *****
- Cockslap, on 07/14/2009, -0/+2BF2 has 64 person servers, which is what hes refering to since they are all in the "BF" family.
- CoD4, on 07/14/2009, -0/+2spire, this demo is full fledged unlike most games. Which is why they had to put a timer on it.
If you still want to play the demo just create another account and play it - AzureRise, on 07/14/2009, -0/+2Download only.
- AzureRise, on 07/14/2009, -0/+2Heroes is fun but it's a casual game for when you're bored and don't want to play anything that requires thinking. No teamwork and you can go around inhaling enemy bullets.
