- mojo8472, on 11/11/2009, -14/+59I downloaded the ISOs. I played the SP campaign. I kept my £35.
Screw you Infinity Ward - Robustica, on 11/11/2009, -6/+47***** that.
- coloradowild, on 11/12/2009, -7/+27I heard some bad reviews on this game.
- Shitokki, on 11/11/2009, -1/+17Looks good, but I don't like what they're doing to the MP. Hopefully that will change and you'll be able to have custom maps, mods, etc.
- FozzDog, on 11/12/2009, -5/+17and my friends is why they dont give a ***** about the PC version
- GeneralObvious, on 11/12/2009, -5/+16It would've been eleventy billion if all those PC gamers hadn't boycotted the release :O
- simplyintricate, on 11/12/2009, -8/+16Too bad the multiplayer is crippled.
- formfactor, on 11/12/2009, -4/+10BLAH BLAH BLAH ACTIVITION! BVLAH BLAH BLAH DEDICATED SERVERS!
- erkokite, on 11/12/2009, -0/+5Why is there another ad-background? Digg, WTF?
- viniciusfontes, on 11/12/2009, -3/+8You accidentally the whole thing.
- Idonteven, on 11/12/2009, -2/+7Can someone answer me this? Why the ***** does Modern Warfare 2 only have a few hours of gameplay yet Mass Effect has dozens of hours worth of playing time?
It took me seven hours to beat the game and I've heard that it's taken others as little as FOUR hours. What the *****? - MonkeyNews, on 11/12/2009, -3/+8Fight the power, man. Like they give a ***** about your little protest.
- h4mx0r, on 11/12/2009, -1/+4I played CoD4's multiplayer a bit, but I really found it just a pointless time killer and thought the single player campaign was where the real meat is at.
- Schmich, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2And http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cMC37VkyTA
- Druid72, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2Also in US and UK combined this game sold 4.7 million units making $310 million on the first day.... that's not even counting rest of the world.
- kanojo1969, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2turning over $300m in revenue on day one is very definitely competitive with the best of the hollywood blockbuster movies, there's just no argument that a decent chunk of the first-world urban population are spending a decent chunk of their earnings on games.
It would interesting to see how it works out long term... how long before the game slows to a trickle and how this compares to Harry Potter X or LOTR X. IN other words, total revenue over the lifetime of the product. I'm sure it would be competitive, although traditional media has advantage. Classic movies are popular decades after release, wheres each new version of a game completely replace the previous version (with some exceptions)
I'm thinking about this because I'm Australian and it's only a matter of time until we get a proper rating for adult games. I can't imagine the hollywood types putting up with a few million in lost sales because the government didn't have a rating suitable for 'Saw'. Looking at these numbers I'm truly surprised that Activision hasn't done more. - DigitalisAkujin, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2I never really played multiplayer. I like single player :P I play it over and over on highest difficulty for fun. With the new game play mode makes it even more fun. But yea I play TF2 and L4D online.
- 3leggedHorse, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2It took me about five hrs on hardened, I totally agree with you thankfully I got my copy from sainsbury's for £26 which saved me about a tenner.
- simplyintricate, on 11/12/2009, -1/+3@GeneralObvious: I'm sure I'd like to play like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHsWZp5pWCo
As well as the fact that it's missing the ability to create custom mods and to do all the fun stuff like you could before.
Unless of course, you're the host. As the host, you get zero ping and get to own everyone. - ISellSigals, on 11/12/2009, -1/+2So they make £50m in one day and they can't even make a decent multi-player for PC? ***** jokers.
- mabakerbraker, on 11/12/2009, -3/+4Computer games don't sell, music CDs don't sell. I think truly at this point especially seeing this recent MW2 statistics I have to say that copyright is the only way to go.
/s - devonkeale, on 11/12/2009, -2/+3It took me about 6 hours, but it was one of the best gaming experiences I've had in years. I'll probably replay it 2 or 3 times, and get another 6 months of gameplay out of the spec-ops and multiplayer modes. So all in all VERY worth the $60. It's a ***** superb game.
I may be biased though, Call of Duty: World at War has been pretty much the only game I've played for 11 months, because the zombie mode is so incredibly awesome. - akereny, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1That last part sounds like magical fetish porn.
- computershack, on 11/12/2009, -2/+3Thankyou for perpetuating their belief that the PC market isn't worth bothering with due to rampant piracy.
Dick. - Miroresh, on 11/13/2009, -0/+1"You do realize that all the fun and action in CoD games is in the multi-player, right?"
I LOL'ed. - YumYumTruck, on 11/12/2009, -1/+2I'm not sure thats definitive proof. It only shows one map one time, and I've had similar experiences even on dedicated servers. Also, there might be some lag just from the software used to record the experience. While its possible that this happens consistently, this link alone doesn't really prove it.
- listereo, on 11/12/2009, -2/+3Sure. You keep telling yourself that, while Activision sees green.
- YumYumTruck, on 11/12/2009, -0/+0Whats the link for?
- Egg333, on 11/12/2009, -1/+1well you have ***** friends then.
- co14on, on 11/12/2009, -0/+0Word
- YumYumTruck, on 11/12/2009, -0/+0It's still dragon age, so its pretty much the same one, except completely bearable because the background is mostly the same color and it doesn't squeeze the screen.
- kinseyincanada, on 11/12/2009, -1/+1who cares if you had a great time in the four hours whats the difference since when to we judge a game by length? Bioshock is a great game but its also short, Mario is a great gane but its also short.
- computershack, on 11/12/2009, -2/+1Why should they go to all the expense of running servers and writing extra code for a sector of the market who are likely to have more pirated copies than copies sold legitimately?
Blame the TPB you claim to love so much. - congnelius, on 11/12/2009, -2/+1An honest review of the PC version:
http://digg.com/pc_games/Call_of_Duty_MW2_PC_Revie ... - covertbadger, on 11/12/2009, -3/+1So what? It's rare I play a game for more than about 10 hours anyway. MW2 - finished the campaign, had a blast, will spend some time on SpecOps this Saturday before trading the game in on Sunday. Experience: Excellent. Mass Effect - got about 10% of the way through, got bored, returned it. Experience: Lousy. Guess which I prefer? Give me the tightly constructed 10 hours of fun over the bloated 70-hour snorefest any day.
- SummerofGeorge, on 11/12/2009, -4/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHsWZp5pWCo
now you can shut your mouth, consoletroll - GeneralObvious, on 11/12/2009, -9/+6No it's not. I've been playing it with flawless perfection over the past few days.
- heavydigga, on 11/12/2009, -8/+3Was a big launch well done activision
- l1tay2, on 11/11/2009, -16/+8umm okay.. ha. I have to get this game.
- GeneralObvious, on 11/12/2009, -17/+5You do realize that all the fun and action in CoD games is in the multi-player, right?
Otherwise, your actions are akin to, "Screw you blizzard, I played WoW on my friend's server and leveled to 80 and gave myself all epics. Suck it!" as if you somehow showed them a thing or two.
