- SuperPacPellets, on 09/16/2009, -0/+13This is actually one of the more favorable reviews I've heard. IGN tore it apart for the lack of a true campaign mode. Can't wait for GT5 nonetheless!
- AeroZeppelin, on 09/16/2009, -2/+14*****, I just realized. I have a PSP!
- Awwzm, on 09/15/2009, -1/+12It's about time! Now where are we going to see GT5?
- MeLikeyTacos, on 09/16/2009, -0/+9Man, what a wait. Back in '05 I was living in Beijing, and I snagged a white PSP just a couple weeks after their debut in Japan. I was thrilled at the prospect of having Gran Turismo with me all the time, it was the system's killer app for me. I kept telling myself, "they were advertising it when the PSP came out, it won't be long now". Ha! 4 years later, I can finally use my now-outdated "fat" PSP to play the game I bought it to play. Some of the reviews aren't all that great, but I'm gonna buy it anyway. I must fulfill the prophecy!
- thisthatwhat, on 09/16/2009, -0/+9Gran Turismo has always been used to hype up every playstation console and every time it always comes out years after the initial release date of the console.
- rocknog, on 09/16/2009, -4/+12It's Ridge Racer! Riiiiiiiiiidge Racer!
- Narishma, on 09/16/2009, -0/+7Of course it looks better, the PSP is way more powerful than a PS1. It's actually closer to a PS2 performance-wise.
- inactive, on 09/16/2009, -0/+7I'm enjoying all the PS1 classics being ported to PSP. I recently bought FF7 for PSP but I wish they'd port FF8.
- BigLou, on 09/16/2009, -1/+7The lack of career mode is what makes this a no-go for me. I really would love a full-featured GT in a portable form... but I'm fully aware that may be too much to ask for.
:( - TheAbsintheHare, on 09/16/2009, -0/+6Some basic stats:
Playstation 2
CPU: 64bit @295mhz
System Memory: 32MB
GPU: 147mhz with 4MB of VRAM
PSP
CPU: 32bit @333mhz
System Memory: 64MB
GPU 1: 166mhz with 2MB of VRAM, for 3D curved surfaces and 3D polygons
GPU 2: 166mhz with 2MB of VRAM, as a rendering engine and surface engine
So, aside from the PSP's processor being 32 bit, and a few things like bus bandwidth that I didn't list, the PSP is actually more powerful than the PS2. Sadly, the low resolution of the screen makes the screenshots look like it's not. :D - zyklon, on 09/16/2009, -2/+5Hmm, is it just me, or does anyone else think the PSP version of Gran Turismo looks even better than the PSX/PS1 version?
- MatzahMan, on 09/16/2009, -1/+4first of all its career
and second, who cares about careers, its all about the driving experience. - ziromix, on 09/16/2009, -0/+3this comment made me LOL. PSP is way more powerful than PS1 was.
- mandraque, on 09/16/2009, -0/+2The career mode was sorta pointless anyways. If i remember all the last games were the same thing. Buy one car, work towards an evo, use the evo in an endurance, get an open wheel car and thats it.
- NeoTechni, on 09/16/2009, -0/+2The only one who should be ashamed is you. Skipping a game you want for some retardedly stupid reason
- o2sk8, on 09/18/2009, -0/+1I *did* want it, five years ago when it was supposed to come out. It has no appeal to me now.
- Rudegar, on 09/16/2009, -0/+1off the mark I only got gran turismo to be able to drive off-road on a vw lupo ! :P
- lostformat1125, on 09/18/2009, -0/+1wait what?....gt3?...came out pretty quick
- latin69, on 09/16/2009, -3/+3No career mode........but who am I to complain when I have a hacked psp.
- o2sk8, on 09/16/2009, -7/+2I will never buy this game out of spite. Sony/PD should feel ashamed.
- Kuci06, on 09/16/2009, -9/+4IGN gave it 6.
No carrier mode at all? ***** that - digggggggggg, on 09/16/2009, -9/+2cool story bro.
