- chocobomog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2 Something about these numbers just does not seem right. I would like to see where they come from. Has anyone else noticed 1 out of every 3 people who play games are girls? Maybe online multiplayer games are skewed more towards guys, because whenever I play multiplayer games the ratio is not 1 out of 3. And before you get too excited, if the girls gamers are anything like my wife, many of them are playing games because their boyfriends/husband play games as well which take them off the market.

This sounds misleading. There are more portable gamers than console gamers? There may be more PC gamers than console gamers but even that may not be correct. What about people who own all three, which category do they fall under? If I took this survey would I be considered a PC Gamer even though I own consoles and portable systems? Maybe 14% is the number of people who only own consoles and not the other two. Other than the recent DS craze, most gamers I know do not only own a portable system, they at least have a PC or console as well.
Then again, my experiences may not be the norm. Which is why I would like to see the numbers from this survey. - carjam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Interesting read. It was always my brother and my husband doing the gaming thing. One summer, while we were in college, my brother and my to-be husband were employed by my parents to paint the house. They would work for an hour then game for an hour, work for an hour, then game for an hour. My mom had bought a freezer full of steak that summer and she offered it to them whenever they pleased. So they gamed and ate steak all summer long. Anyway, I always think of it as a boy thing.
