- mentok, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They make the best shirts out there in my opinion, interesting marketing strategy.
- jakatak, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2are we really reporting the selling of merchandise that doesn't exist in a world that doesn't exist. Hopefully tomorrow this article won't exist. Bury it!
- jonathanneil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Their real world clothing costs way too much for what you get, but I still end up shopping there frequently. The fit can't be beat, and lucky for me there's an outlet store not too far from home. The company is known for unique business practices- all manufacturing is done in downtown LA, in a semi solar powered factory. They are also known for their provocative catalogs and advertisements featuring scantily clad young women and men.

- Pocky, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I kept hearing about Second life, so I actually tried it out a few weeks ago. What a peice of crap. I don't get it at all.
Clearly it is loved by tech reporters (why I don't know), but does anyone actually use it?- violentvinyl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yes. Creativity and imagination is a pre-requisite.
- zer0cubed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Second Life has a steep learning curve, but Linden Lab is constantly working to improve the platform. You won't "get" Second Life by spending a few minutes, or even a few hours in-world. In order to truly appreciate what's happening there, you have to explore for a while. Get to know people who are using Second Life for interesting things. For example, coming up on July 22 is a virtual rendition of a Relay For Life event that has already raised more than $11,000 for cancer research. Second Life is not so much the gaming experience. It's about the social experience.
- zer0cubed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3For the record, Aimee Weber did all the work on that store, and received no credit for it in the article.
- Funfetus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The best thing about American Apparel is that all of their stuff is made by adults in Los Angeles, rather than by tiny hands in China or Guatemala. Their clothes are expensive compared to the sweatshop stuff you get for $5, but it's worth it to support ethical manufacturing practices -- and like some others have said, they make the best stuff.
