http://community.livejournal.com/lifemetercomics/26029.html - iluvatar, on 10/12/2007, -7/+77guys, why are you digging MrBabyMan down? He kept his blog separate from the Digg submission and instead directly linked to the subject matter. We should applaud him!
In fact, I'm going to click the link on his blog and give him page views as a way of thanks. - ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -4/+49I loved Wind Waker's style, and I loved Twilight Princess's style, but this image is just ..... bad.
- ModernTenshi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+41Looks like Zelda meets those eSurance.com commercials, or possibly even Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.
Still very cool. Might set it as my desktop. - SeriouslyButNo, on 10/12/2007, -6/+29Where's Midna? :(
- Itazura, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22Zelda in Samurai Jack style, pretty cool, but not amazing.
- Renton, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Kind of like it was made in Adobe Flash.
- RunnyBabbit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15@EGOvoruhk
Dude, you missed a great game.
As for the image, anyway, I don't think I like the background. It sort of blends into the characters, since they don't have outlines. If the background had been desaturated a little the problem might have been avoided. Still, wonderful style. - Shawnosaurus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Meh, wasn't really my style.
- RapidFireGT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Honestly, I hate it. But thats just my opinion. I'm not a big fan of the cartoon- network style artwork.
- Kratisto, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Looks like a fifth grader put some stickers on an ugly mousepad.
- IMustBeEmo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Inaccurate. This blows. I love Zelda and I even loved the Wind Waker's style [never played it though, haven't been able to get my hands on a copy] but this totally sucks.
And why does Zelda look like E.T.? - sphincterRing, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9it's about amazing as a wet terd. Stop tacking the word amazing to stuff unless it really is.
- CaptShmo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Here's the link to the Pipedreams piece they mention:
http://community.livejournal.com/lifemetercomics/15545.html - Neiby, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9I agree. WTF makes this a "must see!!!!11" ? Boring as hell. But then I don't play Zelda or know ***** about Zelda, so maybe this just isn't made for me. :)
- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Now all Link needs is a bowl of Lucky Charms....
- linuggz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Zelda's Home for Imaginary Friends?
- yoyobye, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Is it just me or does the background look like the same background used when a Pokeball is thrown? Eh, eh?... I choose you Link!
- TheBritishGuy1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Fire up the rasterbater!
- loveddevol, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6eh, it's ooookkaaaay.
nothing to get wet over - quacker912, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I kind of wish the artist made Link look more badass.
- mileswj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Dont like it. Even though a big zelda fan.
- englishganxta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4yea its cool and all but whats up with the "You have to see this!"?
- sedawk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Its nice, but work two exclamation marks?
- daRoach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I don't think it's the artist's fault. Maybe if Link didn't scream like a girl every time he fell to his doom.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7i've been a zelda geek for 20 years now. thank you for my new desktop, my daughter is going to love it.
- RMoore08, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Bubbles, Buttercup and Link!!!! Powerpuff girls go!
- Nick22, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Wow, you must have had realllly high expectations for twilight princess. It wasn't quite what I expected either, but it is still pretty much my favorite game of all time.
Did you also freak out when wind waker came out? You seem like exactly the type of zelda fan that would. - Nick22, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Its a pretty cool picture, but I would hate for Nintendo the adopt the art style. If they are going to use cartoony stuff then they shouls stick to the wind waker style (which i think looks awsome btw)
- IMustBeEmo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Actually, I don't think the cartoon style is good for Zelda or Metroid. Different isn't always better. If they ever re-adopt the cartoon style, they should do it with Mario.
- gnarbuckets, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Buried as inaccurate, because this is certainly not amazing.
- joel8x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Not only did I not find that amazing, I really didn't have to see that - and I'm a huge Zelda fan.
- Kiabi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This style just doesn't seem to suit the Legend of Zelda series very well.
I dunno, its like putting a horse in a three piece suit. The horse would look sharp, but the suit would look much better on something else. - nixr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I must admit after reading the title I found the picture to be very underwhelming. I guess you just have to be a big Zelda fan to appreciate it. That of coure raises the question: Why the f*** did I bother looking if I wasn't a Zelda fan? I wish I could answer that...I really do.
- Tr3vor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Epona is there....
- Adwt0125, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Next time put "Picture:..." at the beginning of the title.
- biff198, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think it looks terrible. I never realized that Ganon was an Ostrich, or that Link was a Court Jester...
- ejd998867, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3To all the people that buried it. To you it might be "Inaccurate" or "Not amazing" But to other people this is a very good drawing. Some people like this style of art. If you don't then don't digg it. But do not bury it because it doesn't suite your tastes. If everyone id what you did then alot of great things wouldn't be on digg. I don't like Zelda that much. Nor do I like this drawing. But I am not going to bury it because I feel that way. So please people do not bury stuff just because yu don't like the game, style, genre, etc. It ruins the idea of what Digg is based upon.
Now that my lecture is over..
This shouldn't be under gaming, fits better under Entertainment. - CompanyMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is this style a rip off or a gesture ?
- CompanyMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2looks like a rendition and flatters the drawing and at of Samurai JACK
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:SamuraiJack-Shapeshift.jpg
The distinctive style of Samurai Jack is what drew Lucasfilm to recruit Tartakovsky for the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series. Much of the signature cinematic style of Samurai Jack lives on in Clone Wars, such as lightning-fast combat, extended sequences without dialogue, explosions, epic vistas, etc - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks like Link is about to be the newest student at Clone High.
- jakeamoore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wait; why is this amazing?
- Nidis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3*****! I'm in the band Sovereign with Dan's bro! Now thats weird. He was just showing me Dan's work, he agree'd to do some cover art for us =0 I'll post it when it happens, most likely later this year. Christ, that was the last thing I expected to digg this morning O_o
- kevinmoore, on 06/13/2009, -1/+2I wish there were a 1920x1200 version. I don't like stretched wallpaper.
- SultanTravi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Yeah, and the hot Gerudo chick's ass went Norbit for this picture.
- spiffyfitz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Looks like he's working on a MegaMan one!
Can't wait! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yoink!
- SuperiorKarsch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Screw Epona, get Ganon's horse back.
- zosobaggins, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It's a different take. I'm loving that Error is reppin' it in the bottom right.
