- BowcrossX, on 10/12/2007, -5/+32Good lineup...but I really just want Super Mario RPG
- TheVtHokie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21If they release everything on Day 1 you will download everything you want then and never go back. If you check back once a week looking for sweet new titles you *might* buy something you wouldn't have bought the first go around. Also, this way they can release blockbuster titles when the Wii forecast looks weak to keep money flowing in. Unlike something like iTunes where music can get popular again through its use in moves or advertising, video games dont really get a second chance to get popular; this way Nintendo can get you to look at old games without being blinded by Zelda or Mario Kart.
- MackPrime, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17how are those "Amazing" ? Yes, the Wii does play NES/SNES/SEGA games, this is no real upgrade. I'm sure they're fun though.
- aahpandasrun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15How about some N64 games?
- wingnut21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16"It's to annoy people like me who don't give a flying crap about games made 10 years ago. Now shut up so I can go back to playing Halo. MOM! Where's my ***** chocolate milk?!"
*Fixed. - crazypantsbone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15"Amazing New" recycled games!
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13am I missing something? some of those games are dated(for release mind you) for 2006. Isn't that, well, impossible?
- drizek, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16Dugg down for having "Amazing" in the title.
Its getting old, guys. - RiemannLebesgue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Notice the last one on the list... GoldenEye!
- gungaroo22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7@miggz
The point is:
If you get all the ones you want on day one, why would you even come back?
This way, you check every week for the ones you want, and might end up buying gems you never played. - Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Duck Hunt is the only NES rom that cannot be properly emulated, due to the lack of the Zapper. Even for those who primarly use roms and emulators, this might make a worthwhile purchase.
- CBanga, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It gives focus toward one game at a time. People might buy one game weekly, but not 10 games in a week.
If you release the good titles all at once, many of the titles would be ignored. - Flummoxer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Why would it?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Why do some of those release dates say January 2006 for the virtual console? Mistake?
- Rockmaninoff, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11Super Smash Bros. 64 please.
- VGLegends, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Super Metroid please
- Four20, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I too want super mario 2. it may have been the franchise's ugly cousin, but that was a classic game
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7I demand Kirby titles! >:O
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@zippo
Did you miss "Kirby's Adventure"? - SeppukuBLUE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@ miggz06
Doki Doki Panic!, right? - buddylee415, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Man, I loved this game. It was a cool concept that not many people played. Too bad if you tried to cheat and use the code the game would always freeze up late in the game.
- djSyndrome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"ill only second/3rd it if you can save rather that password system."
What the hell are you talking about? Super Metroid *did* have a save system - with three slots. - macaddct1984, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Accept American Express please.
- donnydarko319, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I would pay fifty bucks for Duckhunt if they would allow me to shoot the stupid dog. Damn that dog was annoying.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Comix Zone! The awesome side scrolling adventure in a comic!
Props nintendo, mad props. - DTJunkie07, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Duck Hunt with the wiimote. I will buy that.
- saucedmike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes, I am wondering why Pilot Wings was on the Virtual Console a year ago. But isn't now.
- al3x24, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@gxcdesign
I said the same thing about the prices for the virtual console prices but Nintendo is working hard to give us all free online play. I just hope that Nintendo lets us communicate with everyone I'm playing the game with and not just my friends. - TheTjalian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@gxcdesign
Server Fees, which include Bandwith and Space, Liscencing Fees and Manual Labour Fees for writing and maintaining these emulators all come into the total cost. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Sweet, More old games to overcharge people for!!!!
- Sashwan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Duck Hunt!!!
- ZenPirate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hooray!!
- cypher35, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4props for finally getting metroid out, but super metroid is the one i want...
- MatttK, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Oh dear God yes. Super Metroid is still my most favourite game of all time. I would pay 1000 points for it even. Err.. please don't tell Nintendo that, though. :/ I have a feeling they'll be charging a premium for the more popular games (check Japan if you don't believe me).
- TheBlackNinja, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3***** the Virtual Console, that's one hell of a list for the games!
And apperently Line Rider is going to be on the Wii...
And check out the TBA games, Super Metroid and others are coming. - theamazingboo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm beginning to worry that NOA has forgotten Donkey Kong Country completely...
Ahh well some nice games there, Super Metroid :D - phort99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2ErifNeerg:
First of all, it's Metroid you're thinking of: Super Metroid is for SNES. Second, if you've played any virtual console games you'd know already that the Wii has the ability to suspend play at any time on all games besides N64 ones, where if you press Home during play and then go to the Wii menu, it will save the state of play and pick up exactly where you were next time you start the game. This is documented in the user guide for each VC game, of course. Regarding Twilight princess only having 3 saves: Copy your TP save to an SD card. - JustinPM, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It probably won't have Tyson in it. It's called Punch-Out, not Mike Tyson's Punch-Out.
- MajinZero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@ SeppukuBLUE, Plus digg for the uber geek knowledge.
However I think I saw on wiki that "the lost levels" are also being released. - heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Here's screens of all the January VC titles:
http://wiinintendo.net/2007/01/13/january-07-virtual-console-lineup/ - al3x24, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I want more zelda. Perfect dark would be awesome...
- ErifNeerg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yea, i miss read what VGLegends wrote and assume i missed read the article. but suspend play is not an replacement for saved spots.
the TP/SD ideas is too much work for everyday people to get more slots. The whole save system for TP just doesn't work well.I leave such a sour/soft spot. it's open to save on top of another spot (which I've done). - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ John:
There's just something amazing about Super Mario RPG, especially for people (like me) who aren't heavy into RPGs or gaming. I couldn't tell you if the gameplay or graphics are technically "good" because I don't play other RPGs but I adore the game. - systemlayers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm still waiting for some good shmups. I have r-type, which is of course a given, but where's thunderforce? or taiden, or gairies? i can think of countless great shmups for sega genesis alone. Still, streets of rage should be a good one.
- ExtraLifeNG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I demand Earthbound!
- EbenieRosa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, you're serious? Shrek the third is infact a movie upcoming...announced far before any game ever was.
- caselogic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2was I the only one mezmorized by Tetrisphere on the 64...
on a side note my girlfriend just bowled a 256..wtf. ...my top 204..ugh. - CROWMST311, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1whoa, some stuff is coming out so soon..that its coming out last year!
- hayden.evans, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ah the good old days. man i love that game
