linked from my photo bucket. - merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10"but what happens when you move out?"
The real estate agent says "You'll probably want to repaint in this room", while showing the place to perspective buyers, and then moves on to the next room.
It's not at all uncommon for people to repaint at least one room when they move in to a place. - UltimaNut, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"(or if it stops responding), it should get automatically cached by Digg "
How do you cache something that has stopped responding? - JohnyD, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Comon everybody... this was posted to digg not 4 months ago. Very cool but very old news.
- NetPhantom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7that's my fault... I looked and didn't see that story. I hate the dupe submissions and would'nt have done it on purpose.
my bad - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7It can be very hard to tell what a site (server) can handle until you push it to the limit. There are Wordpress sites that can handle huge traffic. Chances are this page is on a crappy virtual hosting server. And to take the time to do that kind of research and testing isn't really and option now is it.
- PDAIsAOk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6How many more times is this going to be posted on Digg. I know Ive seen this at least 2 or 3 times. And it's pretty old
- flipside3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6So how many of us wanted to do this when we were kids, but our parents wouldn't let us?
- n8r0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I am currently making a pirate room for my sons.
For christmas I built them a pirates chest. - Derrekito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5doesn't help to cache the site without pics...
- Hooj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Anyone else have the music from the dungeons going through thier head now?
- JoCliMe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7This is good for young folk...but what happens when you move out?
- Nekko17, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7@UltimaNut
At first I was going to say, "wtf.. what does a gloryhole have to do with zelda?" - then I remembered.. then I laughed. Then I thought to myself, why do I care if it has to do anything with zelda? A gloryhole would be a lovely addition to any home decor.
:] - UltimaNut, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8If you do Zelda, put in a glory hole.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+930 diggs and its dead.
*sigh* - sjbdallas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I feel bad for having never done something like that for my kids. Maybe I can talk my wife into more kids so we can decorate properly.
- Sethwm2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5WOW!!! Look at the HDR
- UltimaNut, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"It would need to cache it before it stops working..."
No *****...guess i forgot the [/obvious_question_with_no_answer_cause_the_comment_was_made_by_a_moron] tag.
My bad. - unicornhunter, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5pics still don't load in duggmirror
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I tried to use that excuse it didn't work. :-(
- dpb1994, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Link is dead. So, here's what Kevin Rose's crack Digg team should do. Once a story gets clicked through to a certain threshold (or if it stops responding), it should get automatically cached by Digg so that the next click to the story is then served by Digg instead. This would reduce traffic to the originating site drastically and allow it to survive a good Diggin'.
- SteveRogers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That's good to see. Young people today need a healthy respect for the classics!
- brstilson, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Dun dun dun da da dun............ding!
The link is dead - karn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Even though it is a dupe I don't mind. I missed this the first time around...
So thanks NetPhantom! - ymilord, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Man, Is there any server in the world that can survive being dugg'd? All day long. Service Unavailable or Account Suspended. Duggmirror is awesome; but lately the site(s) is getting hammered faster then it can cache it. There gotta be a better way of getting this sites cached or mirrored. Maybe a method of it getting cached as a image (small PNG or JPG) verses caching the HTML portion? Then dumping it on Flickr or the likes?
- toran, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Paint your [dorm]|[apartment]|[house]. Preferably without the consent of said establishment's other residents.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I would hate to stumble into that room after smoking some weed.
- kingstefan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Where's mirrors by pocky when you need them...
- kirkio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2props for using lightbox (although the transitions take a little too much time to load)
- jetsetgo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It would have been awesome if they put a warp pipe in and inside was a hole that went down to the basement.
- PaddyTheChump, on 10/12/2007, -4/+630 diggs != 30 views.
- MarvelingOne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Not able to view but still gets dugg, granted some people digg just to digg while others hope to view the page later on...to each their own I guess.
no digg without being able to view pictures on the cache - resideorob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yup, I digg a post so I can go back and view it later when I get home -- but I try to only do that if I'm really really sure it's something I'm likely to digg after viewing it. Call me lazy, but it works for me....
Oh, and for cases like this site being down now -- it'll more than likely be up and viewable once I'm home. - RTourn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I hope the room is for a 12 year old.
- audiogalaxy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This would be bad ass except the dude (or girl, but presumably dude) has wood paneling for walls.
- celtboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2let the copyright infringement lawsuit begin...
- toshipaine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The one room you would never take your date too if you had one.
does the stereo in the room play the Super Mario Brothers theme? - merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nyud's generally slower than the original site, as long as the original site manages to stay up.
So automatically adding a .nyud.net to the URL would put way too much stress on their servers, and result in a slower digg experience half the time. - r3d0din, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1greatest thing ever.
- atarix64, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.gnull.com/sites/1168612020_54362/
- NinjaBoy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I'd buy a house that had that!
- adam84a, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Worked for me
