    Goes to show you that gameplay and innovation STILL carry the most weight in the gaming industry...

    Graphics are just gold sprinkles. They're an extra. But if you take a turd and cover it in gold sprinkles, it's still just a turd.

    So in essence, $10 for the game. $40 for the Wii Remote.

I haven't bought any extra controllers yet, so I might give it a shot if I can get a good deal on it. Still, good lord those extra Wiimotes and nunchucks are 'spensive!

  • Willeth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2WiiPlay is coming out at launch in the UK, which is next Friday. I'm definitely picking it up - I played some at an event today, and it's on par with Sports in how addictive it is.

    Besides, re-imagined Duck Hunt with aliens abducting Miis. I'd pay a fiver for that on its own.

    I think gameplay and innovation have always been and will always the most important factor in making games and systems. Graphics only comes into play as a function to advance the gameplay, or at least not get in the way of gameplay. That is not to say that graphics aren't important: a game can feel more immersive when the graphics are better, and, of course look better. Its not like Nintendo is duping people into owning a Wii purely because of "innovation". The games are genuinely a ton of fun, and that's what it boils down to.

  • grumbel, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3I wouldn't celebrate just yet. The Wiimote is a very nice innovation, but if it is really enough to carry the console through its whole lifetime is a thing only time will tell.

    Always be willing to dish out the money up front and be ready for the launch or this is the very thing that will happen. You end up missing out on the full experience and that's never fun, especially for something as revolutionary as the Wii!

    1 Australian dollar = 0.7869 U.S. dollars

    I am sure that Nintendo won't charge $7 or $8 for the Wii Play, but even $20 is a bargain with the extra Wii Remote.
