- MrStabby, on 10/12/2007, -5/+35I've never seen as much excitement about a console with very few graphically mesmerizing games...
Goes to show you that gameplay and innovation STILL carry the most weight in the gaming industry... - ShivaOritiner, on 10/12/2007, -5/+27I actually saw the neatest response in regards to graphics on another board. This person said something along the lines of:
Graphics are just gold sprinkles. They're an extra. But if you take a turd and cover it in gold sprinkles, it's still just a turd.
I never laughed harder. - djSyndrome, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19"I've never seen as much excitement about a console with very few graphically mesmerizing games..."
Ever heard of the DS? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Scratch what I just said...I just saw the $49.99 price tag on ebgames.com...
So in essence, $10 for the game. $40 for the Wii Remote.
Still not bad. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15haha. January is next year and later as opposed to now.
- toast1226, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Cheers to innovation!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14So Sony's a turd?
- n8r0n, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Sell one to a another Wii owner or sell it to a used game store.
- revisrev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10@milhouse
Wait a minute... in those seven years Sony had the best graphics? But I have an XBox and GameCube... Resident Evil 4?...
So, you're trying to prove that Graphics aren't the most important thing, right? - contextclouds, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Keep it hanging up in your kitchen, those things have a frighteningly long range.
I managed to bowl a couple of frames while waiting for some coffee to brew on launch day, and my kitchen is on the other side of my house. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5yeah i'll buy it from you.
seriously. - n8r0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5All this Wii talk...it frustrates me.
I hope to hell I can get lucky enough to get a Wii this Sunday when everyone is going to be selling them. - ShivaOritiner, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Oooh. That sucks. I'm thankful we only have two right now. Ummm... once the game comes out, wait a couple of weeks and then see if you can buy just the game used at Gamestop?
- lazyman0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I am going to get it for the extra controller for sure. My only problem is they are releasing Wario ware the same day.... I don't have enough freinds to support all that multiplayer madness.
- djSyndrome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4WiiPlay is nice and all, but where are the colored Wiimotes?
- geekzapoppin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I think it might be worth it since it's not really adding much in the way of cost onto buying a new Wiimote, but that game seems like it will get old fairly fast. I haven't bought any extra controllers yet, so I might give it a shot if I can get a good deal on it. Still, good lord those extra Wiimotes and nunchucks are 'spensive!
- LordSkywalker, on 10/12/2007, -14/+17I want that game.
- motang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3yeah the whole package looks cool, and I am getting for the bundled Wiimote looks like their marking is working.
- Willeth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2WiiPlay is coming out at launch in the UK, which is next Friday. I'm definitely picking it up - I played some at an event today, and it's on par with Sports in how addictive it is.
Besides, re-imagined Duck Hunt with aliens abducting Miis. I'd pay a fiver for that on its own. - brotherfranciz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Accusations of 'fish-camping' began to fly after a couple heated rounds, too."
lol, I can imagine those CS fanboys yelling out "stop fish-camping!" - lansuggs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@mrstabby
I think gameplay and innovation have always been and will always the most important factor in making games and systems. Graphics only comes into play as a function to advance the gameplay, or at least not get in the way of gameplay. That is not to say that graphics aren't important: a game can feel more immersive when the graphics are better, and, of course look better. Its not like Nintendo is duping people into owning a Wii purely because of "innovation". The games are genuinely a ton of fun, and that's what it boils down to. - rusackas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I just want the second Wiimote... I can't find one, and taking turns in every game is starting to irk me.
- burndive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You can put colored covers on them.
- IMustBeEmo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Where are the colored Wiis?
With all the press around E3 time, etc., I was hoping to get a lime green DVD-playing Wii around the holidays. Guess they won't be getting my money just yet. - Jezmund, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What I want still is the new zapper they had at E3. There has been nothing about it for months. And especially with this throw back duck hunt I WANT IT. If nobody remembers seeing this or didn't see it here it is.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Wii_zapper.jpg - grumbel, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3I wouldn't celebrate just yet. The Wiimote is a very nice innovation, but if it is really enough to carry the console through its whole lifetime is a thing only time will tell.
- SlackerCS, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3Later next year? I thought this was coming in January?
- Dabellah, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Sucks for you. I bought my 3 extra controllers the day BEFORE launch on purpose for that very reason =)
Always be willing to dish out the money up front and be ready for the launch or this is the very thing that will happen. You end up missing out on the full experience and that's never fun, especially for something as revolutionary as the Wii! - Hermitwise, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4should have waited
- HaggisMac, on 10/12/2007, -15/+3I want it more than you.
Oh wait, I haven't even gotten a Wii yet.
Still... - FreakTrap, on 10/12/2007, -14/+2Good Game...
What if I already bought four controllers...? - milhousebambata, on 10/12/2007, -18/+5If that were true, Sony wouldn't have dominated the console market for the past 7 years.
- andydumi, on 10/12/2007, -15/+1Im confused as to how you can have a review of something that does not come out anytime soon. This is slated for late 2007 right?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -18/+1Wii Play costs $10 Australian dollars.
1 Australian dollar = 0.7869 U.S. dollars
I am sure that Nintendo won't charge $7 or $8 for the Wii Play, but even $20 is a bargain with the extra Wii Remote.
