- labmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+44Just take out the game and blow on it.
- FzArEkTaH, on 10/12/2007, -3/+34because we hate sony and love ninendo
- bllambert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24because all of the ps3's are on ebay.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20Very good article, fixed my Wii, moreinformative then other articles out there.
- bigdsinferno, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18i had the same problem yesterday and this definitely works
- gcnaddict, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19uhh, because PS3 errors are BAD? So far, the biggest PS3 error is a huge hardware ***** (red light of doom mkay thanks)
Wii errors so far seem to be restricted to WiiConnect, which isn't that big a deal. - Ashex, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20Because this isn't an error with the Wii. It's pretty much expected for the Nintendo servers to be raped during launch week.
Lets see how your server handles 600,000 connections in one week while downloading software updates. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Because most of these Wii errors can be fixed by changing your wireless channel, while most of the PS3 errors can be fixed by throwing it at sony and getting them to send you a new one.
- steverl22, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Dealing with error codes on a console is getting a little old....That goes for all systems
- gameboyhippo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10chriskzoo: "Where are the articles on fixing the widespread PS3 errors....oh wait, there aren't any errors :)"
And there aren't any PS3s either. It's kinda hard to have errors when 25% of PS3s are on eBay. - nmaster64, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8@sakuraz
A) We're not, that's overblowing things a bit.
B) Nintendo underestimated how much having to mess with a router screws people. Or I guess I should say they overestimated the intelligence of the average American... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Because a Wii is $250 and a PS3 can run you 600-5000 dollars, depending on how much of a ***** you are.
Systems that cost 600 should not:
Be DOA
Reboot mid game
Have ***** games
Get bad reviews from NYT, ArsTechnica, and countless Blogs
INCLUDE HD CABLES
But even if it has HD cables, you know, support 1080p
Spit out your disc with a read error
Systems that cost 250 should:
Work
Be fun
So the nintendo has an error that won't let you into the store... they are sending you a ***** brand new unit in return! Has Sony done that? Nah. - j0ew00ds, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Best response on the page. Too bad it's banished to the bottom...
- spragg, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9http://duggmirror.com
- ahhell, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Because it's fun.
- keviniskool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This is a problem, Nintendo should call in Mario and Luigi. Seriously, these clogged tubes were exactly what Ted Stevens was talking about.
- Crass22, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Yay good for you chriskzoo, you get a lolipop!
- marchingsax15, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This also worked for me greatly. I was getting a very slow download speed and changing the channel made them much speedier.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Thank you whom ever came up with this solution it helped me greatly!!
- Nodren, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6did you miss the digg story earlier with over 600 diggs about a wii hardware problem? the thing is, the problem doesnt prevent people from playing games, just using wiiconnect24(which doesnt do much at the moment) and they're sending a replacement unit before asking for the original, so you dont spend a moment with out a system.
noone is crying foul, because noone is really inconvienced that much by the problem.
ohh and for the record, i expected nintendo's servers to work, the fact they dont leaves me unimpressed. they should have expected the massive amounts of users wanting to upgrade.
now, 90% of diggers obviously dont have a ps3(given the short supply) but considering the problem renders the entire system useless, you gota wonder why everyone is so upset over that.
now if my nintendo wii was flat out broken, you better believe i'd be upset... but it hasnt happened, and i've received these errors, and easily found fixes to them within hours of launch. still havnt had to call nintendo support or even post on a forum. - rnelsonee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4First off, I don't think Nintendo's servers got hit bad at all. I was doing online stuff all day with no delays. 10-15 seconds to get online and into the store, or to check firmware... etc. Which I would say is expected. If someone's connections are slow, then it's their router, modem, or ISP. And even if that wasn't the problem, Nintendo would've had no excuse for slow servers -- they knew the launch date, and could've easily rented bandwidth from places like Akamai. AOL, Microsoft, and Apple.com all use Akamai for heavy loads.
- bbdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The NOA guys at the official Nintendo forums came up with this solution. If anybody wanted to know: http://forums.nintendo.com/nintendo/board/message?board.id=internet&message.id=3153
- TheTankengine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yep, I was getting a couple different errors as i tried to experiment with settings on my router. I just switched it to channel 1 and put everything else back to normal and the updates came in relatively quickly (of course, I'm on a 10mbps line, so I was hoping it would go a little faster...). Now I can go into the Wii shop channel.
There's not much to do once you connect though. There are only about 10 games for the VC, and none of them are ones that I simply must have yet. I'll be sure to hop right on when the Opera browser becomes available, though. - alx242, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5@sakuraz:
Cause all first-generation consoles have these problems...no-one is excluded although fan-boys want to see it otherwise and proly most fanboyism has finally died down now that they actually get to play their consoles instead of bragging about something they never have used...also it seems like sony has faired pretty well this time around regarding the stability of their console or maybe something will pop-up, who knows. People just ought to shut up and play the games...:) - Jinno, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Because the Wii doesn't stink to begin with. :P
- darkmisery, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Remember, your wireless bandwidth is shared. Your 54 Mbps router (really more like 24-25 Mbps best case) is now being shared with two or more devices. Add to that interference, and yes, you might definitely notice slow downs.
- whiskerlickins, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Why are you even here? Bored with your overpriced crap already? :)
- djruden, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5This info can be found at nintendo.com but since it's the error I was getting, and I think maybe lots of other diggers, I gotta spread the love by digging the article.
Cuz seriously, nintendo.com ain't that user friendly... - speaker219, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the duggmirror and the original seems to be VERY SLOW, so here is the text of the page:
Some users are having a problem reconnecting to the WiiConnect Service after updating there systems.
If you are getting either a 32002, or a 52030 error try changing your channel on the router to 11 or 1. If your already on one of these channels go ahead and set it to anything else, let the router cycle through (will reboot after change) and then change it to channel 11 or one. Also if you have a cordless phone go ahead and turn it off just to make sure there is no interference. If none of that works go ahead and call Nintendo about organizing a replacement unit, or other troubleshooting they may have you do.
For “Linksys WRT54G routers” enter the ip address of the router (default is 192.168.1.1) enter password and user name (default is admin/admin) then click wireless tab, now select a different wireless channel from the drop down box. This fix may not work for you but it is worth a try, and again THIS Fix is not guaranteed to work for all consoles. - Zalo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I have a Linksys WRT54G router and wii online works just fine, but it seems to be suck the signal from my laptop. Does anyone have a solution?
- BobMysterioso, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thanks for that. Agreed.. great comment.
I remember my friend just used rubbing alcohol to clean his games, and a cuetip. Of course, they said not to do this. The cleaning kit they sold contained... rubbing alcohol and a cuetip. A fancier cuetip, but a cuetip more or less. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Maybe next go around.
- cwilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oops! You beat me to it. :)
- tratch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The 52030 error for me was fixed when I gave the Wii a static IP. I tried to do a lookup of the error code on the Nintendo site but for some reason it wouldn't cooperate with Firefox, but that's what fixed it for me in case anyone else is having problems.
- sock2828, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1when does this error apear
- happycube, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Also nintendo's doing advance exchanges for broken wii's, which can still play games until the replacement shows up.
- spoonard, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Because there is an error in conjunction with 20 other things going wrong. It's never just 1 thing with the PS3 it's a whole load of ***** breaking or just not working.
- ldhotsoup, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dugg. This fixed my connection.
I don't see this as a serious problem, just an undocumented one. one sentance of 'set your router to channel 1' would have cleared all this up. This is hardly a showstopper bug. Many people didn't even notice it. - Cameron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I had a 52030 error and this fixed it. It was a quick and easy process.
- Denver80203, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Glad I have been having too much fun playing the Wii to bother plugging it into the internet. Looks like I'm saving myself some pain till things get worked out.
- oneiroi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I know compared to a lot of you I'm partly retarded when it comes to router stuff.
What does it mean to "change router channel to 1" - Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good, more Wiis for us. :D
- cwilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Here's the link to Nintendo's site with the suggested fix. I know the information is in this article as well, just thought it wouldn't hurt to have the official Nintendo one up. http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/onlineWirelessSlow.jsp
- iamjero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the only problem i got was an error code when trying to connect to the internet. I had my router setup to read the Wep key from slot 2, and I found out after reading a bit that the wii will only read a wep from slot 1.
Easy fix, online, updated, and loving my wii :D - LotusStarscream, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow. I have been trying everything to fix this, and Boom diggers pull through again thanks...Now back to Zelda.
- Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yep. We've got 3 (sometimes 4, if my lappy is being used, like now) machines using our Internets on our WRT54G, and when they're all actively using the connection, things are slow as *****. Sometimes it won't even let one of my machines connect.
Then again, my access point is ~100 feet away from whatever's using it...
(And no, I'm not stealing Internet access from our neighbors.) - MisterCookie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm sehling howm owners in shurans!!
- adam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Changed my router channel to 1 and it fixed my 52030 error.
- paulie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1heh, i have.... but you probably already knew that =)
- mrkmrk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm on a Linksys, and I'm getting 5133x errors. I've not been able to find any help anywhere. It's rather annoying, but.... I suppose I'm not missing anything... yet. I want to get it working only for the sake of getting it working, but I've had absolutely no luck.
Has anybody had these problems, and then fixed them? -
