- jblade, on 10/12/2007, -19/+106I think he really was trying to say the wii mote was easier, being a counselor for several years, and around kids that age, none of them like anything "easy" if its "hard" its better. So I think what he meant was that it was easier to use is the bottom line. He just wanted to be proud that he could use such a "hard" tool.
- Gunegune, on 10/12/2007, -3/+60And that's why the Wii will sell. "It's fun."
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -6/+58jblade, i got that impression too
roar84, quit being an ***** - achoo5000, on 10/12/2007, -8/+41Here's the vid of the same kid playing ps3

EDIT- I love you Nodren - estvir, on 10/12/2007, -25/+58'Is this the PS3' ? That Kotaku editor should be ashamed of himself for having such an un-educated child. By that age he should be fervently defending his console/company of choice and slandering his father for liking a different one. :P
Anyway, pretty cool to watch, didn't really think of someone doing this . . Wii is almost out here in Aus, woot. - Leo55, on 10/12/2007, -7/+39Look at how hooked the boy is.
Cool. - Nodren, on 10/12/2007, -3/+35this is the review of the same 5 year old using the ps3

You obviously never took a psychology or early development course in school. - xtmno3, on 10/12/2007, -8/+34Kids may not know a ton about the world, but they tend to know how to have fun. You know, fun, that thing we used to have before it all became an argument over how to best minimize your enjoyment in life.
- Andrewc989, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24The fact that some of you diggers are arguing over whether this review is valid amazes me!
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25Yeah, "it's fun" is simple and to the point. That's all I want to know.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24"this is the review of the same 5 year old using the ps3"
Ha, he didn't like it. - blofeld9999, on 10/12/2007, -3/+24Holy crap, Michael Jackson posts on digg.
- blofeld9999, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25Is everyone's sarcasm / humor detector broken? estvir's first paragraph is clearly written in jest. Also note the happy face. :-)
- WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -9/+30You put the kid in front of a PS3 or 360 with the right game (you dont give a 5-year-old GoW or Resistance...) and he will say the same thing about that game.
Kids change their minds alot faster, they dont care what they play as long as they are playing it NOW. - Zanneth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Sit a five-year-old in front of an Atari 2600 and he'll have hours of fun.
- aerospace, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18@jblade I think the kid was just overwhelmed by trying to play and having questions thrown at him at the same time. There he is, trying to win his game, that's where his mind was at. I also think his response that he liked the Wiimote because it was harder to use was actually him saying he liked the game he was playing at the time because it was harder than Ridge Racer [which he was playing earlier].
A 5 year old's brain can only handle so much input at one time, he's focused on trying to win, he's having fun, he hears a question about which one he likes better and why. When his first question and response don't make sense and the game he was playing earlier is mentioned to try to clarify, his brain is going to throw together the parts of the first question he understood, and the parts of the follow up question he understood, ie "which one [game] do you like better and why?" - Dustyb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Funny kid.
- Volatile, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15nphp20:
Not to mention that there'll be a decent selection of M rated games for the Wii. It's not all for kids. - kenvsryu, on 10/12/2007, -7/+20I suppose this is a response to the 5yr old and the sixaxis, the wiimote looks unnatural in comparison.
- WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -6/+18and if you listened to what I said:
"Kids change their minds alot faster, they dont care what they play as long as they are playing it NOW." - ZippidyDoo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15What a noob
- JesusFaction, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13this just raises more questions than answers
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Shutup with all the stupid questions *****, and let me play.
- datagod, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Kid: I like this one because it is fun. Is this the PS3?
- TheG2, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Wii Sports on pre-order...how dumb are...sigh
- bentheo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11well, only until he turns six....
- nphp20, on 10/12/2007, -6/+15@ roar:
Dude, a five year old will have fun with anything so long as it's a video game. Have you ever seen little kids playing video games?
The Wii wasn't designed just for five year olds, it's a system for everyone. - xrisnothing, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Leo55 is a NAMBLA member.
- OpCzar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9FTV: "You like it because it's harder? Yes. You're crazy."
Wow, that "hardcore" mentality is developed at a young age. - TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9"Remember the turbo button" haha
Who else envies this kid right now?
I aggree, I think he was a little confused trying to play the game and answer at the same time. I know when I'm playing a game, my mind sort of goes on auto pilot when I'm talking to people. "Yes, no, whatever just shut up, i'm trying to concentrate here". - SniperAlf22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I think it's interesting that we have a whole new generation of gamers who are the children of gamers. I've got two kids, and they're both very ardent gamers (a boy and a girl). I have no illusions that I am the inspiration for this behaviour. Now that the Nintendo Generation are having children who are old enough to play themselves, this will be a very interesting time we are now experiencing. Just a random thought.
- Leo55, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6What else could i write in the desc area?
Its a video with a kid playing Wii for crying out loud. - ComputerSherpa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Digg goes to Achoo for shorter URL.
- Nikole, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6omg that is the cutest thing ever....lucky kid
- afx1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I just want to know what the kid's affiliation is to either Nintendo or Sony, as he clearly shows a disdain for the 360. Hence, the validity of the review is called into question.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6to the poster, why is it "nice."?
- Volatile, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Err...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sadness_%28video_game%29 - EricJD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Lucky kid.
- Johnny1337h4x0r, on 10/12/2007, -7/+12If you listened to what the guy said, the kid played Ridge Racer with the Sixaxis controller. As far as I know from the available games, that's a very good comparison.
- colonelpanic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+45 more days......
- ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11But the kid said the SIXAXIS was easier.
- Cglass, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Hmm, something's not quite right about one of these happy faces, an imposter I do detect.
- ydt89, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4the way the description says "gave his 5 year-old son Wii to try out" makes it sound like the Wii is some sorta drug. haha.
- insaneidiot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Haha, it just makes me wonder if the kid instinctively knew how to use the Wii controller, or if his dad (the editor) had to teach him how to use it. If he knew how without instruction, then Nintendo is definitely doing a good thing to gaming.
- MonoDede, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3that was cute. especially when he said "because it's FUN"
- Methodius, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This jackass does realize Wii Sports comes boxed, right?
And also, a scoff should always be implied, never written. An implied scoff is a work of literary majesty. A written scoff is a heavy-handed attempt to seem like an intellectual. - marnaq, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I thought the review was 5 year old. I was like... time travel?
- bagboyrebel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3http://wii.ign.com/articles/701/701475p1.html
Nibris hopes to take full advantage of the Revolution controller. "Imagine driving away rats with a torch, throwing a rope (as a lasso) when you want to climb over the wall, or slitting the throat of a persecutor with a piece of glass... All of this with the help of the Revolution controller."
Yeah, slitting throats is for 5 year olds. -
