- Doomsan, on 07/09/2009, -7/+76I like Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
- Vosem, on 07/09/2009, -1/+58How can Sonic Labyrinth and Hotel Mario be 'Most Hated' if nobody ever played them? They were on systems that sold less than the Jaguar.
- RiotHeart, on 07/09/2009, -7/+55Zelda II was the *****. I've never heard of anyone hating it. Still got my gold cartridge.
- Minapan, on 07/09/2009, -1/+39This reminds me of Angry Video Game Nerds CDI review, also wheres the CDI's unholy triforce of Zelda games?

- Haoie, on 07/09/2009, -1/+21Mario Hotel? Never even heard of it until now.
Most dividing Mario might be something like Super Mario Sunshine. - ProfessorRiffs, on 07/10/2009, -6/+25Zelda 2 is awesome, get over it.

piece of *****. - freshyill, on 07/10/2009, -1/+15Windwaker was a lot of fun. Sure, the sailing was tedious, but that's about the only negative I'd give it. Zelda II was solid too. Had its downsides like they mentioned in the article, but there was a lot to like too. I just played through it on the emulator last year. I can't believe I actually played my way through the final palace when I was like 11.
- socivitus, on 07/09/2009, -0/+12One CD-i game is enough for one list...
- athinnes, on 10/01/2009, -3/+14Windwaker is one of my favorite Zelda games to date, and I enjoyed Link as well.
- socrates17, on 07/10/2009, -0/+10Dugg for being an AVGN fan.
- SystemJinx, on 07/10/2009, -0/+9Some franchises work great when characters are placed in new surroundings. One of my favorite games on the SNES was Super Mario RPG. That game rocked!
- pezoamo, on 07/10/2009, -1/+10I grew up with Zelda 2 and ***** loved it
- ayeroxor, on 07/09/2009, -1/+9Mario's face wields sales? Hm...
- JDanner3, on 07/09/2009, -1/+9I remember going to my cousins house and playing these games. I hated them so I did not buy a copy.
- Khast, on 07/10/2009, -0/+8Sonic Labyrinth...You mean the Sega Game Gear was less popular than the Jaguar??? The Game Gear was out for nearly 5 years, and ran side by side with the Gameboy for most of the time.
Gameboy didn't win the most colorful graphics award....but it did have some of the best portable games in the 90s....which was why the Game Gear wasn't quite as popular. (Well, that and the fact 6AA batteries lasted maybe 2 hours.) - vivisimonvi, on 07/10/2009, -3/+11Madden
- consonance, on 07/10/2009, -0/+7Next week on Digg: Lists of lists on Digg!
- ban1d0, on 07/10/2009, -0/+7I acknowledge that the Gamegear wasn't the most popular system (11 million sold), but playing games like Sonic or Mortal Kombat on a color screen was, in my opinion, an improvement over the Gameboy.
Gamegear was the Dreamcast of handheld consoles. - Cain1220, on 07/10/2009, -1/+8This list isn't complete without Castlevania 64.
- rpgguy1o1, on 07/10/2009, -1/+7Galaxy is the second highest ranked game on gamerankings.com, it has an average score of 9.74/10. I doubt you even played it, if you consider it bad.
- wraiyne, on 07/10/2009, -0/+6it hasnt even come out yet. chill dude.
plus, if youre gonna hate it that much, ignore it. like i did mario hotel. - wezel, on 07/10/2009, -0/+6I agree that Zelda II was great. One of my favs of the series, but a lot of my friends did hate it though.
- ThisURLNotFound, on 07/10/2009, -1/+7Sim City: Societies.... SimCity was a great franchise until it was ruined with Societies.
- Luvboat, on 07/10/2009, -0/+5That is very true, but I think it's(SMS) a game that definitely gets better with replays.
- Minapan, on 07/09/2009, -0/+5too true
- Vesuvias, on 07/10/2009, -0/+5I too loved the game, but I must admit some of those levels were FREAKING RIDICULOUS... I think if I ever see a red knight or white badger/dog thing, I will kill with fire and place my sword on hold.
- Raptor007, on 07/10/2009, -0/+5They could have picked some much less obscure titles.
As someone who used to enjoy realistic Tom Clancy games, I'd include any of their newer games that allow 3rd-person cover, where your character can shoot enemies around a corner without looking (Vegas, Vegas 2, newer Ghost Recon stuff, etc). The scripted "here come some enemies" events also reduce the ability for the player to actually utilize stealth, which used to be an important part of older Rainbow Six titles. Top it off with linear levels (rather than planning your own path through an area) and it's all a big letdown. - LordVance, on 07/10/2009, -0/+5The graphics were incredible compared to other handhelds at the time; too bad the ***** thing went through AA's faster than Pac Man went through dots.
- UV0001, on 07/10/2009, -0/+5I bet the awful Sonic games Sega crapped out recently are most hated than the one listed.
- Elranzer, on 07/10/2009, -0/+5A lot ofp eople do. I can see why a lot of people "hate" it though... it's was a side-scroller, not a conventional top-down action RPG. ALso, it was HARD.
A lot of people also hated Wind Waker because of its graphic style. Only when Twilight Princess come out, did people go back and say they loved the game and its art style. It was one of the more open-ended Zelda games. - TSK05, on 07/10/2009, -0/+5awesome?
- temujin1234, on 07/10/2009, -0/+5I hope she made lotsa spaghetti.
- Khast, on 07/10/2009, -0/+4Phantasy Star 3 was actually quite awesome. It was a VERY slow paced game which could get boring for most people...but the story was good.
- PhillyOC, on 07/10/2009, -0/+4The only one out of them I ever played was Zelda II, and now that I look back on it I do remember it sucking hard. At least in comparison to others that were out at the time like Metroid. was always more of a shooter/action type guy instead of a puzzle/RPG type.
- idbjoshm, on 07/10/2009, -1/+5Zelda Two was awesome, I loved how you saw the entire Hyrule World and not just that little area below Death Mountain. But it was hated because, it was so damn hard.
- WillPhlake, on 07/10/2009, -0/+4I disagree. I quite enjoyed SMS my first time through it. After playing Galaxy, I went back to SMS and found the game much less interesting than I had remembered it.
- Egotrippin, on 07/10/2009, -1/+5Was the Phillips CD-i's controller a dildo?
- Khast, on 07/10/2009, -0/+4Actually, I have both systems currently in my collection. The Gameboy actually was capable of larger games by about 2MB.
Most Gameboy games weren't direct NES ports...the Gamegear WAS the Sega Master System..so SMS-GG ports were readily available. (Open up a Master Gear accessory if you have any doubts of this.... no chips, just wires connecting pins.)
Actually the Atari Lynx was a truly impressive portable system....just had too small of a game library to have really competed. - Xaevier, on 07/10/2009, -0/+3Even if the mechanics etc were fine I still hate Wind Walker simply because of those blasted graphics...
- robbob, on 07/10/2009, -0/+3mostly negative :(
- themastersb, on 07/10/2009, -0/+3I don't think they know about the CDi
- 13tongimp, on 07/10/2009, -0/+3Zelda II was just overlooked by a bunch of people because at the time it was a huge departure from the original. However, it was a damn good game in it's own right and was a heck of a challenge back then. I think the difficulty might have been a bit off putting for some of the kids back in the 80's.
- Pxtl, on 07/10/2009, -0/+3I'm just shocked they managed to narrow the worst Sonic entry down to a single game.
- eviscerator, on 07/14/2009, -0/+2I love the game too and I sold my NES games many years back because my NES was stolen, but I bought Zelda 1 and 2 again as gold cartidges and a NES because I love the NES, and Zelda games, so :)
- nevaseez, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2I would like to add Fear 2 MP to this list
- jeremymccurdy, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2Sonic Adventure was okay for the Sonic parts, all the GBA Sonic games were alright, and Sonic Rush was pretty good.
- Vesuvias, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2I hear you on the the (k)nightmares Doug... especially those badass red ones... grrrr
