- sonofalink, on 10/12/2007, -2/+95I remember when I was little I was confused because on TV they yelled "FORE!" and when I watched my dad play he always yelled "Fuuuuuuuuuuuck"
- ers35, on 10/12/2007, -9/+99Prepare to have the most dugg down comment ever.
- jammink, on 10/12/2007, -2/+82You really should have quit about 3 comments back.
- BassCadet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+72I hate golf but after seeing that.....I need to get me a Wii!!!
- CptCancer, on 10/12/2007, -5/+63Give up. Your awful joke isn't going to get funnier.
- michaelschaaf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+58She makes cursing seem so cute and innocent!
- ers35, on 10/12/2007, -5/+54Oh, I thought you mean having a daughter who USES your Wii. Never know on Digg these days...
- awesomepossum94, on 10/12/2007, -12/+52God..............damnit

BAN THAT STUPID MOTHERF*****G H4X0R YOU LAGGING PIECE OF FUC****NG S**T - TheG2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+39Your right, little slips where kids repeat what is heard day in and day out in the world deserves the kid to be punished...bravo, good parenting. FYI, it's your fault for her hearing it in the first place.
- TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+37you're being dugg down because all Wii jokes got old the day after they announced the name
http://digg.com/gaming_news/Introducing_Nintendo_Wii - alefox, on 10/12/2007, -2/+35it's ok to feel angry
- FallenWings, on 10/12/2007, -5/+35I felt the same way this morning... but I had just woken up from a dream in which I was playing Iron Man on some sort of Wii air guitar. Weird.
- mwosh, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25Now I want to buy a Wii....
And have a daughter...
And teach her to cuss... - D3koy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+24That little kid is probably better than i am at Wii golf....
- Tainek, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25Have you considered that not everyone considers God Damnit to be a Swear?
Now if my Kid drops the F-Bomb, then i'll be mad, but i'll show a little more common sense than to just slap the child, i will ask her where she heard that word, and then tell her it is a very bad word and to not use it again
NOW if she says it again, she will get a slap
violence is a last resort punishment, not a staple (Well unless you want your kid to grow up angsty, rebelious- Not as if they'd start smoking/Drinking to get back at you now is it?) - Methodius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17....outside? What is this "outside" you speak of?
- otheruser, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16I like how all the stuffed animals are all littered about and ignored.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+19I don't care who you are, MS, Sony, Nintendo fan or what... that's just funny.
- CanceledCzech, on 10/12/2007, -7/+19Wow, that's weird. The exact same thing happened to me. Well, not really, because in my dream I had heard the funniest joke in the world, woke up in the middle of the night laughing, then fell back to sleep only to have the dream continue with a bus full of hot cheerleaders coming to my house. Why did I have to wake up?
- MoofTheStoof, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12"The point is that it's obvious that people here seem to believe that you just let your children do whatever they please without consequence. That's short-sighted and irresponsible."
I've run into this situation, myself. My son already knew "goddamn" and "*****" the normal way - from his mother and I - but learned the f-bomb from a friend at pre-school. Well, he repeated it there, too, much to the chagrin of his teachers. I simply explained that, while there's no such thing as a "bad" word, there are words that can upset people and it's polite to refrain from using them most of the time. He understood and agreed. Problem solved.
Was that irresponsible? I don't punish him for using those words at home, and if he uses them in public I simply remind him that it can upset people. Hard to tell, though, because I hardly ever hear him use those words despite his knowing he can...
Or would it be more irresponsible to teach them "do as I say, not as I do," and punish them for using a perfectly common, perfectly normal and perfectly harmless English colloquialism? I have to admit that there are times when expletives sound crass, but there are just as many other times when they are the mot juste. - TheG2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11You obviously have no idea just how many college scholarships are available for kids who golf. Damn, if I had only known, I would have been playing golf since I was 4 too!
- myheaditches, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11It's this big room with the daystar, pollen, pollution, and other people. It's over hyped.
- eljaysun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I like how she sounded genuinely disappointed - like "god damn it" was a typical thing in her lexicon, and she wasn't just repeating something.
Too cute. Toooooo cyuuute! - jammink, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Always good to get a head-start at life.
- SpacemanSpiff01, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14Anyone notice how his avatar is a picture of his fat ass? I'm just glad it isn't his wii...
- edzieba, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15Or instead of buying them yet ANOTHER game console, you could, you know, take them outside and play? Just a thought.
- Tempest811, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9hahah very cute. her voice totally reminded me of the preschoolers in southpark.
- DBCA, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9That's adorable.
- CanceledCzech, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Ah, yes, I see the makings for a thriving debate on the effects of video game violence on kids, and what crappy parents are doing to make sure that all the blame for their poor parenting skills is placed solely on the shoulders of the video game industry.
- D3koy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Wii - The end to Childhood obesity
I can't imagine how many times i was playing a game and my mom told me "you need to be more active" it's like that old NES game with the DDR-like pad (track and field or something) Kids are going to start losing weight! Who would of thought the only side effect to weight loss was swearing?(Oh, thats right any one who ever went on a diet) - jammink, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8You seem so quick to dole out the parenting advice to this man when you a) have no background information whatsoever and b) obviously have issues with parenting yourself. So no, I don't respect your parental opinion And "The point is that it's obvious that people here seem to believe that you just let your children do whatever they please without consequence."? It's not as though she robbed a liquor store. She said a "curse" word. It's not even that bad of a curse word. She doesn't need to be punished.
- sjalloul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7That's a dad with a lot of hope for his child! I guess it doesn't hurt to start teaching the young the passion for playing golf.....
- jammink, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9I fail to see how physically harming your child and taking the game away from them is a "responsible mature opinion". She's 4. Perhaps she shouldn't be using that language, but that isn't up to you. It's definitely not as bad a curse word as some out there.
- OpCzar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Wow, she's really into it. Nintendo still has a hard grip on the parent market, and with good reason!
- OpCzar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Maybe watching a little kid play would calm you down and remind you that it's just a game of experimentation...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Amazing parents taught their kid not only how to curse but to play a Wii at age 4!
- ozid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5i'd hate to have a little kid watch me play. i get so angry when i play that golf game...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Lighten up, Nancy.
- decodv, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6> Exactly. Or that somehow poorly raised kids are "cute."
Because a little girl picks up an utterance of verbal frustration and uses it constitutes "poorly raised?"
"Poorly raised," in this case, is an opinion of YOUR standard and holds no weight past that. - kevisazombie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Nintendo should start using this as a marketing add without the swearing.
- tehjames, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Cursing is overrated.
That was extremely cute/funny though...mahaha I loved the little accent and pause, it was great. - TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4do you know anything about question marks?
you don't have to answer that - IMustBeEmo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Geckotek, yes because cursing leads to theft. That makes perfect sense. Why don't we just start banning iPods because they cause rape?
- Tainek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@edzieba
Or do both? with work and looking after the house you cant ALWAYs take a kid out of the house, this is something healthy and recreational that you can both do together in 30 mins, and when it gets dark (it can get dark at 5PM in the winter) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What a cutie pie. My daughter is about 1 1/2 and already trying to bang on my keyboard when i'm playing a game. This WII remote would be a lot more intuitive for a small child. Good (unintentional) viral marketing.
- raabco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Father O'Malley, is that you?
