- PooChunk, on 12/29/2007, -14/+273The worst part about this is that customers are not compensated in any way. Xbox Live has been down on and off for three days now. I can't even play Halo. How about throwing some points our way for the inconvenience.
- computerfreedom, on 12/29/2007, -18/+166It must be those unreliable Linux servers...if only they used Windows Server 2003...
- v0yeur, on 12/29/2007, -13/+131so why exactly do we pay the annual fee?
- mrloco, on 12/29/2007, -11/+127They will probably give us, if at all, 50 points short of actually being able to buy anything.
- Mr.Gone, on 12/29/2007, -6/+104I've had no problems with my live account. Although the prospect of more 12 year olds with 2 swear words and a racial slur to each of their names is a grim prospect indeed. Age matching in Live mutiplayer? Yes please.
- TheTjalian, on 12/30/2007, -1/+80I guess I didn't help by downloading nearly 6GBs worth of demos in one day when I opened mine christmas morning...
- zephyr42, on 12/29/2007, -5/+78Ever since that last patch Call of Duty 4 multiplayer has been so slow and very unreliable. CoD4 is supposed to be patched soon, we'll see how that goes.
- Skunkhair, on 12/29/2007, -2/+67whoa...wait... people play Chromehounds?
- icecubes, on 12/30/2007, -3/+63Age does not always equal maturity.
- shinythingy, on 12/29/2007, -11/+65Well judging from some of your posts i would have thought XBL was perfect. You pay money to get online they should have been prepared no excuses
- DaleksUnited, on 12/30/2007, -6/+593 days is 40cents - you may be able to claim that back legally off them if you're that desperate.
- merwin, on 12/30/2007, -1/+51What about pain and suffering?? My GOD, man! Think of the children!
- wush, on 12/30/2007, -6/+55What does the subscription fee actually pay for? They don't even host dedicated game servers - you host the games on your home connection.
- jun2san, on 12/30/2007, -0/+46You bastard!!
- JaredXM, on 12/30/2007, -0/+36Something about him not being able to play xbox when he's toking.
- tymme, on 12/30/2007, -6/+42So this happens once a month rather than once every few hours. Know a better solution for handling the sheer quantity of players?
- Shiftgood, on 12/29/2007, -2/+34Thank god. Ive been looking for answers all day.
ps. If you're not playing Rocket Race... you're missing out. - Shanobi, on 12/30/2007, -1/+33Everybody knows the 360 servers run on the power of unicorns.
- wTheOnew, on 12/30/2007, -9/+39Complaining about three days of flaky service when Xbox Live has historically been rock solid is ludicrous. It's been down (I'll count the last three days as down) what? 5-6 days since it's mainstream adoption all those years ago. I mean look at how often WoW servers go down and how much more they pay. My cell phone works less often and I'm paying an order of magnitude more for that. Can't you people go outside and play in the snow for a day or two? Is not playing Halo going to kill you?
- RoroCo, on 12/30/2007, -2/+32Are you actually asking what a Microsoft company is running their servers on?
- charliekwalker, on 12/30/2007, -2/+30The internet is not a big truck people... It's a series of tubes.
Go play Portal. - indiepenguins, on 12/30/2007, -2/+30I ***** hate Max. I'm always greeted by that smirk son of a bitch when my 360 RRODs.
- wush, on 12/30/2007, -4/+31you're weird
- squeedgie4me, on 12/29/2007, -3/+28This situation is unbelievable. I managed to log into a friend's Xbox, then when I tried on mine..it said there was an internal error. I called customer support and they said that my gamertag was irreparably damaged and to go out and buy a new timecard and make a new account. I then proceeded to hang up. I still haven't been able to access my gamertag.
- KaiUno, on 12/29/2007, -7/+31Dugg down for being too stupid to press the check spelling button.
- maglev89, on 12/30/2007, -2/+26Where in the hell did all of my "fee" money go to, if not to maintain the servers ?
- deadbaby, on 12/30/2007, -3/+25It's puzzling how a company with so much money could drop the ball on this. Didn't someone inside Microsoft connect holiday sales with server compactly?
- Tophillious, on 12/30/2007, -4/+26You could always get some friends to play Halo...or something.
- Hawkeye05, on 12/30/2007, -0/+21The Ones that hum and sing are the worst, bless Bungie for letting me mute them quickly.
- pegisys, on 12/30/2007, -1/+22I have to agree, I hear more racial slurs from the 17-25 year old crowd, but he kids younger then that swear a lot and have annoying voices.
I have just gave up using the headset unless I'm playing with someone I know personally - dankCIA, on 12/29/2007, -2/+23I can't believe microsoft was caught so flat footed - they had to have seen sales numbers coming in the month(s) before Christmas and should have been able to better predict the increase in online gamers.
- fadeout, on 12/30/2007, -5/+25Calm down, can't go a few days without an online video game? :x
I dislike my service being interrupted as well, I pay for a gold membership like most of you, but this service works amazingly well 99% of the year.
A free movie or arcade game would be a nice Christmas gift to make up for lost time, though. :P - Whaines, on 12/30/2007, -9/+29Well, I think PSN has a little bit of an advantage serving it's 50 customers.
- AhrenBa, on 12/30/2007, -3/+22Man, I feel your guys' pain. It has been pretty bad over the last few days. I can barely play a game in COD4, and matchmaking takes up to 25 minutes, and doesn't even work most of the time. I can understand the situation, but you think that paying $50 a year would give them an incentive to partially future-proof their servers... :(
- shinythingy, on 12/30/2007, -1/+20no you just suck
- fuzzmeister, on 12/29/2007, -0/+18I'm drowning in ellipses.
- zweben, on 12/30/2007, -1/+19They should just have a frequency cutoff on the headsets. Everything above 2 khz muted = no having to listen to 10 year olds!
- Velirno, on 12/30/2007, -1/+18Only unreliable thing in my COD4 sessions were the hosts, so maybe a host-swap feature in the background in the next patch.
- JNudda, on 12/29/2007, -2/+19I just spent 20 minutes trying to searching for matches in Halo 3 MM. wtf
- iofthestorm, on 12/30/2007, -2/+19Well, there still are substantially more 360s on XBL than PS3s on PSN, simply because of the large aggregate sales difference. Even if they are selling at about the same rate (which I am not sure is true), there were more 360s already online than PS3s.
- shinythingy, on 12/30/2007, -0/+17Are you trying to say that a home connection is better than a dedicated server?
- Jugalator, on 12/30/2007, -5/+21FFS, he was just giving feedback for a more weighed picture on the situation... :-p
- Ryanz42, on 12/29/2007, -25/+41Xbox live has been working fine for me the whole holiday season, first time I have heard about these problems.
- Ajajadude, on 12/29/2007, -9/+24Exactly. If this were PSN or something where you weren't paying money to play online, then there's no real reason why anyone should complain. But, the fact that you have to pay to play on XBL gives everyone who uses it an excuse to bitch and moan when they don't have the ability to handle an increased load of users.
They should have been prepared since they're collecting money from people who are using the service. Apparently, that money isn't being spent on upgrading/increasing server capacity. - ariez84, on 12/30/2007, -1/+15You didnt have to state youre an Apple guy. Your bitching and whining already told us that, stop being redundant.
- elgriff, on 12/29/2007, -0/+14you are sad to try and defend the servers going down as router connection problems
- zwaldowski, on 12/30/2007, -1/+15Your ISP getting a lot of new neighborhoods for Christmas?
- MtheoryX, on 12/29/2007, -2/+15what?
- HolyChimp, on 12/30/2007, -0/+13I would, but I'm from England, and we don't do snow in these parts.
- o2sk8, on 12/30/2007, -3/+16Amen, I finally get some time to play and I haven't been able to recover my gamertag since Wednesday. Grr....
