- TheMangler, on 05/22/2008, -0/+104Seriously. Why hasn't Star Fox come to the Wii yet?
- iceman0113, on 05/22/2008, -0/+60James Bond Wii. Just release Goldeneye on the VC and i'll be happy.
- MikeXpop, on 05/22/2008, -5/+51Battletoads for the Wii is already in development. You can preorder it at any Gamestop.
- fael, on 05/22/2008, -3/+43sadly, EarthBound Wii isn't going to happen.
- RlAA, on 05/22/2008, -2/+39I understand the logic behind sticking with what was successful in the past, however; it eventually gets old. How about something new and not just another addition to all the games of Nintendo past.
- Froderick, on 05/22/2008, -2/+39How about a decent RPG?
- StarExtreme, on 05/22/2008, -2/+33He's busy doing a barrel roll.
- screwy3333, on 05/22/2008, -4/+34other suggestions include Road Rash, Paperboy, Heroin Hero......
- requiem3, on 05/22/2008, -2/+31That last idea is brilliant. A stand-alone pokemon RPG would be spectacular. I'm surprised there hasn't been one made for the GC or N64. Only very badly made supplements to the handheld series.
- Ganja420, on 05/22/2008, -4/+28Mario RPG > Pokemon
- Doomsan, on 05/22/2008, -3/+25Star Tropics Wii!
- foomojive, on 05/22/2008, -4/+23What a crappy list. I thought he was going to bring up new ideas for the wiimote. These are just remaquels to games that have been done over and over.
- ant9821, on 05/22/2008, -2/+20Yeah, cause all those FPS games are sooo unique and fresh.
- ANT1138, on 05/22/2008, -0/+18No Killer Instinct = No digg.. I'd like to see a new Earthworm Jim sidescroller and Mario Paint would be awesome too.
- Husky217, on 05/22/2008, -2/+20Kid Icarus
- compujunkie, on 05/22/2008, -1/+19....and where the hell is Pilot Wings in that list? C'mon!
- greevar, on 05/22/2008, -2/+18Catch me! C'mon Catch me!
- inactive, on 05/22/2008, -0/+15"I know it's in development"
If you know it's in development you HAVE heard something about it. - CptGreencoat, on 05/22/2008, -0/+14Dugg for the "my first Photoshop" box art.
- Shawn4168, on 05/22/2008, -1/+15Jet Force Gemini was one of the most underrated games for the N64. I would love to see Rare revive that franchise.
- daftfunk1, on 05/22/2008, -1/+15True, but there are some Nintendo games that really should be developed for wii. A new pokemon game that stays in tradition to the gameboy ones but is completely online (just as long as it works) would be great.
- eviscerator, on 05/22/2008, -0/+13The people of http://starmen.net/ have worked hard for many years to get new Earthbound stuff. Like the list says - let them have it.
Also, I would buy a new Battletoads game even if it meant going below 0 on my bank account. Battletoads is (not was) the *****! - jjustice, on 05/22/2008, -2/+15"Shake the Wii Remote to do a barrel roll!" Priceless.
- GNiMeLF, on 05/22/2008, -2/+14Hell no, Back to the future cannot see the light of day on the Wii Console. soo wouldn't give it justice in terms of technology/visuals
- daftfunk1, on 05/22/2008, -11/+23Pokemon Snap Wii.
- ursername180, on 05/22/2008, -6/+17I know it's in development, but Animal Crossing should have been mentioned somewhere since we haven't hear anything of it yet.
- fishbeef33, on 05/22/2008, -2/+13Donkey Kong Country? Conker's Bad Fur Day? Don't these also deserve the Wii treatment?
What about a new Pilotwings where you fly a glider by using the balance board? C'mon!! - DivisibleByZero, on 05/22/2008, -0/+11I remember the awesome nostalgia I felt playing Twilight Princess. New adventures in a consistent world from my childhood. You can't get that with a new franchise (although it might be good to make some new ones and invest in future generations of gamers).
- sqwidget, on 05/22/2008, -0/+10I love how most of the list isn't even Nintendo properties. Just because it came out for NES doesn't mean Nintendo made it. There are 2 Rare titles on that list that are pretty unlikely. The Truce At Bakura game is probably the most random suggestion out of the whole list. George Lucas pretty much craps on any of the extended universe stuff, so the likelihood of that being made is between slim and none. Besides, the Thrawn Trilogy is the obvious one to make into a game series.
- orangefly, on 05/22/2008, -1/+11contra....???....
- eShinn, on 05/22/2008, -1/+11I can't believe they didn't suggest a "Secret of Mana" release. The original multi-player (3-player) RPG.
- inactive, on 05/22/2008, -1/+10"Warcraft is a big seller in the RTS market, we don't want to undermine it with a MMO."
- LiquidIse, on 05/22/2008, -3/+12I've said this so many times, but the day Nintendo releases a fullscale Pokemon MMORPG, is the day i cancel my subscription to IRL.
- danielsan1701, on 05/22/2008, -0/+9It's coming.
- eShinn, on 05/22/2008, -0/+9Like DragonQuest or Secret of Mana.
- EnderMB, on 05/22/2008, -1/+10I've said it before and I'll say it again.
Pokemon MMORPG.
First of all, let players start from any of the regions in the Pokemon games/series (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Orange Islands, etc) and from there let them choose the Pokemon they want and what they can catch based on their location. Ditch the 4 moves rule and allow for a system like WoW where users can take their Pokemon down different routes.
From then on, play it almost like a normal Pokemon game, except by turning the MMO aspect on its head. Make the world's extremely expansive, with towns with gyms very hard to come across without having to trek through the entire playing world. On top of this, don't make it so easy to reach a high level! Alter this dynamic by introducing Pokemon breeding to get rid of two of a players best Pokemon to get a level 1 Pokemon with great starting attributes. Create an innovative battle system that accommodates skill in Pokemon battling, rather than matching types, and also as part of a Pokemon's skill give them the ability to risk some power to overcome weakness, much like how the dynamics of the cartoon worked. Imagine using a Blastoise against a weaker Charizard that wasn't weak against water attacks!
Online aspects like tournaments and leagues would be fantastic as well! Create a few arenas across the gaming universe to both watch and participate in online tournaments. Regular updates can include new tournaments and areas to explore. In random times during every month a special quest could be launched to catch a rare Pokemon.
To top that off, incorporate the idea in the original article to add an offline mode for when the servers are down, much like how PSO played out with its own storyline. Obviously don't let users train their Pokemon offline to compete online, but just to give users something to do during downtime they could complete the game offline before tackling the online world. - ehsteve23, on 05/22/2008, -0/+8i think they fall under "very badly made supplements to the handheld series"
- jjustice, on 05/22/2008, -0/+8I see your point, but it's a bit harder to write a blog post on that. If I could come up with 20 totally original ideas for videogames, I'd go work for a game developer =]
- inactive, on 05/22/2008, -1/+9I try to only play GTA4 with friends on Live, and the one time I went to play without them every other word was "*****" or "*****."
I read somewhere that voice chat was something Microsoft regretted about XBL. - hollismb, on 05/22/2008, -0/+8Rare owns the rights to Killer Instinct, I believe.
- SolaFida, on 05/22/2008, -1/+9Dugg for Earthbound!
- kevro, on 05/22/2008, -0/+8With online support!!!
- ShadowJumbie, on 05/22/2008, -0/+8Doesn't the JFG property belong to Rare? If so you would not see it on the Wii but the 360. Unless it was a DS game.
- eShinn, on 05/22/2008, -0/+7Or how about a River City Ransom? ... and YES. Leave the scripts really lame! Many a laugh was had from it. Hurting yourself as you run into a wall, or park bench. Throwing rocks at the baddies...throwing the baddies ;.)
...stopping in the middle of a fight to cook a steak. - Eezyville, on 05/22/2008, -0/+7I'll be happy if they release Perfect Dark for VC. ^_^
- alexforcefive, on 05/22/2008, -0/+7A new earthworm jim would be amazing!
- tandy400, on 05/22/2008, -0/+7Amen, brother, I lost all of my freetime and sanity to that ridiculously long game. There was really two moments that I had to stop and say, "You've got to be ***** kidding me..." and hold back from sobbing: After spending countless hours completing the quest, only to find that I have to backtrack and collect all of those damned koalas... And I gave most of my powerups to the dog, finding out that you actually have to use Juno to defeat the final boss Mizar... It was literally impossible to beat when you run completely out of ammo. *****!
Other than that, I would love to see a JFG for the Wii ( I still have a little sanity left) - H1tchh1k3r, on 05/22/2008, -1/+8The list was okay, but Back to the Future? I love the movies but I think they would be pretty crappy as games. Also, where is the never-gonna-happen Chrono Trigger sequel?
And pokemon needs to stop. -
