- fcrow, on 01/17/2009, -1/+21Please release "Portable Portal" for the PSP!
- CompanyCalls405, on 01/17/2009, -0/+15My brother has Dissidia on his PSP. The Japanese ver. atleast.
Looks amazing. - pauleku, on 01/18/2009, -0/+13Whoever says the PSP is dead is not paying attention - and has certainly not played all the GREAT psp games already out. The PSP is my favorite system bar none. I can bring it anywhere and it has great 3d and 2d capabilities. I have bought more games for my psp than my 360, ps3, or my nds. Such a fantastic system. And it does fine without a second analog stick - programmers who know their limitations make great games - like KILLZONE: Liberation.
Im actually thinking od buying a 3000. I have a FAT and Im totally about getting the thinner, brighter one. Get a PSP! - MattEaston, on 01/18/2009, -0/+10Dissidia is definitely contender for best PSP game released to date - it looks totally amazing
- chrissku, on 01/17/2009, -1/+10I was hoping to see a new SoCom game on the list. Does anyone know if there is another SoCom being developed for PSP?
- keithwired, on 01/18/2009, -0/+8no it won't, please explain to me how you could play any kind of complex game with no buttons or control sticks at all...
- pauleku, on 01/18/2009, -1/+9Just check out IGN for the top games. Usually ones rated 7.0-7.5 and above are worth looking at. TONS of games worth your time.

Gran Turismo - brycehebert, on 05/03/2009, -2/+9Patapon 2!!
- chirt, on 01/18/2009, -0/+7This list really makes me want to get a PSP, but I don't want to be left hitting myself when a new generation of handhelds comes out a year later
- pauleku, on 01/18/2009, -0/+6It is the most played RPG on the system. I dont have it, but it is tremendously popular - especially in Japan.
- Divals, on 01/18/2009, -1/+7Dood! I'm so excited for Prinny. Now I just need to find a job so I can buy it.
- inactive, on 01/18/2009, -0/+4Great Lists. Waiting for Patapon 2 and Dissidia.
- inactive, on 01/18/2009, -2/+6"The PSP is my favorite system bar none."
Agreed. It's what made me get a PS3
". I have bought more games for my psp than my 360, ps3, or my nds"
Same here, which makes DS look really bad since I have a flash cart for it - Cheesepuffly, on 01/18/2009, -1/+5Patapon 2 FTW!
Nice list, maybe the psp will make a come back.
Patapon 2 FTW! - firebirdx01, on 01/19/2009, -0/+4It's good thing Sony has got the PSP because the PS3 is sucking ass.
- HarryEast, on 01/17/2009, -1/+5Great list, Patapon 2 is the one I am most excited about...
- Vanor, on 01/18/2009, -0/+3Star Ocean 2 out this week, a new Parasite Eve (finally!), an RPG by Level 5 (hell yeah!), Prinny (looks awesome), and I can finally play Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G in English!
Though, it'll be interesting to see if they invested more than a pittance into the English instruction manual compared to my import copy of the game. - inactive, on 01/18/2009, -2/+5If you haven't found multiple reasons to buy a PSP yet then you are not a true gamer
- flair1, on 01/18/2009, -0/+3is the PSP so popular becuase people hack the system and don't pay for the games?
- TheWilder, on 01/18/2009, -3/+6After the sparse drought of PSP games in 2008, I'm glad to see a wealth of potentially good titles coming this year. I'm particularly looking forward to Star Ocean: Second Evolution, Dissidia: Final Fantasy, and 3rd Birthday, with Ushiro sounding very interesting.
- simonsez21, on 01/18/2009, -0/+3No, but there is a pc emulator for the psp ;)
- themastersb, on 01/18/2009, -0/+3Isn't Locoroco 2 already out?
- Cloned, on 01/18/2009, -2/+5The controls for FPS on the PSP are awful. You use the analog stick to move, and the buttons to look (Triangle=up, Circle=right), it's horrible.
- uberbucket1, on 01/18/2009, -0/+3I just got angry at my ds because I could never play shooters, and two screens is dumb because its hard to focus on both and, also touch screening is way worse than the control stick on the psp.
- Cloned, on 01/18/2009, -2/+5I tried SoCom on the PSP and I hated it. It wasn't the game itself, I just can't get used to the controls of shooters with only one joystick.
- johnroth, on 01/18/2009, -1/+4Don't get a job for Master Etna dood! The wage is slave labor and the hours are endless!
- T8erT0T, on 01/18/2009, -2/+5They probably are SoCom yourself.
- TVarmy, on 01/18/2009, -0/+3I think we'll need a better control scheme to do Portal justice. Mouse and keyboard are the best and will never emerge, but I'd at least like two analog sticks or something similar for a portable FPS.
Granted, I've never played a PSP FPS, so I might be missing something... - inactive, on 01/18/2009, -1/+3great games, just need a psp to play them now (hint) =)
- acero47, on 01/18/2009, -0/+2That game took a lot of my free time over the Christmas break. Definitely a fun game.
- dsmx, on 01/18/2009, -0/+2All chant pata pata pata pon to get the release date closer.
- cthellis, on 01/18/2009, -0/+2Zipper did the previous Fireteam Bravo games, but they're busy with their PS3 MAG release (or whatever it is to be called), so... The Syphon Filter dev team is finishing up Resistance: Retribution, so they're currently not working as a SOCOM replacement. High Impact hasn't announced anything since Secret Agent Clank, but I don't precisely think them a good fit for SOCOM anyway. Ready at Dawn pretty much said they're getting out of the portable game for a while...
I don't see them tapping any other studios for it, so I wouldn't expect to see any more portable SOCOMming for a while. - diggdowner, on 01/18/2009, -0/+2Only in Europe and Japan...
- Fleminator, on 01/18/2009, -2/+4still no gran turismo?!
- dsmx, on 01/18/2009, -0/+2Port the 2d version of portal then.
- Ericdigital, on 01/18/2009, -0/+2The psp came out in 04 so you would think we would be getting a new wave of them. Though I have a feeling the big boys aren't in any hurry since the ds/psp are both still widely popular systems.
- johnroth, on 01/18/2009, -0/+2Apparently you are the one without much knowledge about video games. Have you ever been to a Monster Hunter message board? This game is hardcore niche... the people who love it LOVE it. Personally, I didn't get into it, but I still know that the game has a pretty strong cult following.
- satyarth, on 01/18/2009, -0/+2And so is Dissidia.
- seventoes, on 01/18/2009, -0/+2Yeah, this list actually made me touch my PSP again for the first time in months... Time to figure out what the hell is going on in the homebrew scene....
- blitz718, on 01/18/2009, -1/+320 hour work days are rough, dood!
- MacBandit, on 01/25/2009, -0/+1Yes all those games you listed suck *****!
- inactive, on 01/18/2009, -2/+3"Sony should get with the program and officially open up their hardware if they're gonna let an entire year slip by with only two major releases."
PSP had hundreds of games released in 2008. Just cause you didn't like more than 2 doesn't mean any other sane person didn't either - faizal5k, on 01/18/2009, -0/+1DiRT 2? really?
- Khast, on 01/18/2009, -1/+2Finally, looks like a few games which might actually make me put down my DS for a while. Lookin' good!
The Final Fantasy titles look pretty awesome, if they are better than Crisis Core, that should keep me busy for a very long time!!!!! - JollyDumple, on 01/18/2009, -0/+1I was watching stuff about the Resistance game at Gametrailers, it looks really good.
- seventoes, on 01/18/2009, -1/+2"Why did people like Patapon? I can't stand timing/rythm games."
Key word being "I", we aren't you, so we don't share your opinions. - iDiggYa, on 01/26/2009, -0/+1why not
- simoncallesen, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1The battery thing turned out to be a dud. Meanwhile, though, the 3000's have been hacked and are running small homebrew applications in user mode. The people behind the hack just haven't gotten kernel mode (and thus, possible downgrading) up and running yet.
http://pspupdates.qj.net/New-homebrew-game-for-PSP ...
The exploit was found in the semi-old game GripShift - sort of like the original save game exploit of Liberty City Stories. Just watch how the price of the game has sky-rocketed the last week or so. :) - Ericdigital, on 01/18/2009, -1/+2You go down in history in my book.
- Renton, on 01/18/2009, -2/+3I'm thinking of getting a PSP just for emulation (already have a DS for games). Any advice?
