- icebrand, on 10/12/2007, -5/+86adults can play games without guns and gore. just cause something doesn't die in some bloody mess doesn't mean that its destined for kids
tho i like the chainsaw swinging idea... - myxyplik, on 10/12/2007, -3/+53If you whine about something not being for adults, then you're not an adult.
EDIT: This article is a clone of the one on IGN. Not saying this digg article is a dupe, just that wiinintendo may have ripped them off.
http://revolution.ign.com/articles/709/709258p1.html - heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -6/+53that's a good point, but these are just the launch titles. Could you image swinging a chainsaw in Resident Evil Wii and taking peoples heads off!
- LethaLImpuLse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+40Zelda AND Metroid at launch.
Oh ***** yes. - Unr3a1, on 10/12/2007, -8/+43You don't like to play Super Monkey Ball? :(
- Klisk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+37Dude, Zelda is probably THE game adults are going to want if they're purchasing the Wii. Even if it wasn't released on launch! Contrary to popular belief, Zelda is more popular with adults than it is with kids, from what I've seen.
- doddilus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30No... Ninteno's games are not rated K for kids only, they are rated E for EVERYONE, meaning the entire family can enjoy them not just the 18-34 year old demographic
and with the Wii Nintendo has clearly stated that they are going for the non-gaming person - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25I don't know about you but i'm pumped about metal slug, arguably the best arcade game ever
- stealthboy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+24Zelda. Metroid. Done and done. I wish I could digg this 100x.
- quamb, on 10/12/2007, -3/+24so who is madden, metroid and zelda for then?
and who cares? they seem like really fun games - elebits already looks like it could be a cult classic. - centinall, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22who cares about the games!!! what about the performance?
I keed, I keed. - chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20....this is a technology news site after all -- so what exactly do you expect? There will always be stories about the big players (apple, MS, Google), and e3 was last week so of course you'll here about the wii. It doesn't bother me, I actually like reading stories about these things.

I noticed that...it bugs me when sites do this...and don't even link to the original article
AND THEY DIDN"T EVEN HOST THE IMAGES...jesus christ...
reported as spam...next time host the images yourself and at least try to make it look like you supplied something to the article...and if this isn't someone affiliated with this blog...you suck even more...
and also...this was written up on IGN last week...so it's also old - baltakatei, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19Sometimes I want to sleep until these games come out. :P
- TehKrut, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20I can't wait to be standing in line freazing my ass off.
- OneZeroZeroOne, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19Kiddie games? WTH are you all talking about.
"Kids these days..."
I guarantee everyone on here bitching about "kiddie" games isn't over 19.
If you're not shooting something in the face, it isn't fun?
You're seriously saying you're too cool to play video games? Huh? - beta1, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21You are an ass-clown.
Stop trying to act macho by saying any game that isn't GTA is for kids. My criteria for games is how much fun I can have playing them and Nintendo 1st party games gives that to me as well as most other people, and I’m not 4-12 years old.
And people are “jumping on the Nintendo bandwagon” because the Wii is a innovative, cool, and overall interesting product. The fact that they aren’t charging out the ass for it is an added bonus. - KSUdesigner, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Haha, that link is a 100% copy and paste of two prior comments here. Nice.
- ahatter, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18well not zelda, metroid, red steel, or wii sports..
maden is the only one i know that will be for another console.. and its still not going to be ported to the wii it is another game from the ps3 and 360 all together. - quamb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17agreed - though nintendo seem to be very smart this round.
think about it - launch with metroid and zelda. a few months later, release mario, then a few months after that, smash bros.
thats 4 AAA titles (really, the most popular franchises on earth - besides final fantasy & halo) within the first six months. - ehmjay, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17This is pretty cool, but why is mario not a launch title...
not only that, if super smash bros "wii" was a launch title, they would sell EVEN more of these! - Elxx, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17Yeah, there was an article on how they completely redesigned the mechanics of Madden for the Wii. Can't wait!
- sabbac, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16I'm an adult (33) and it's the only new console I'll get or want to get.
- affanjam, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15You know the game I realy want Disney/Pixar’s Cars
- walugi, on 10/12/2007, -8/+19Franchise games are the scourge of man kind. I for one do not want to see NFS: OUTRUN POLICE XV on Wii ever. Alot of franchised games are just flogged out because of their names, the only reason they sell so well is because grandparents buy it for their grandchildren thinking that its what all the other kids play.
- ScottDaMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I also think that "New Super Mario Bros" game for the Nintendo DS should come out for the Wii. That'd be awesome. Even as an adult, I love Mario and love playing it on my sons DS. LOL
- mntpng, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Ahh... My shopping list:
$250 for Wii
$50 for extra controller (Yes, I'm just guessing the price)
$50 for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
$50 for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Total comes to $400 for many hours of pure fun. If Wii is $200, then I'll also pick up Super Monkey Ball! Either way I have $400 with Nintendo's name on it coming this holiday. I can't wait! - beta1, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16everyone
- Flawless, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12What? No Mario game?
What's up with that? - KSUdesigner, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12So you think that an extra $400 for no major innovations except hi-res graphics (if you can even call that innovative) constitutes a "real console?" Sorry I'd rather spend $200 on something I've never experienced before than $600 for something that is the same old machine with better graphics. They remake the same games because they are HUGELY POPULAR. In fact, they are rarely the same game every time, just the same title and basic story line. The original zelda is vastly different from ocarina of time, which is quite different from wind waker, which is different from minish cap, etc. etc. Sure it's the same story, but story doesn't make the game, gameplay does. Yes we were all playing these games when we were kids too, that's what makes them so great...they're good enough to survive through many generations of gamers.
- BruceCLin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Retail low paid slave employee ftw.
- chrono13, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11I hate baseball games. I have a friend who is an baseball fantastic, and loves playing baseball games, and rents (not stupid enough to buy them) every baseball game that comes out.
I have played every one. Some are better then others, but they are all boring, and all of them have major flaws. The biggest flaw most of them share is gameplay. Watching baseball on TV can be more enjoyable than playing most of these games.
I would like to stress that I dislike baseball. It is boring. And yet I can't wait to play baseball in the Wii. It could actually be fun. Golf, billiards (pool), etc... just imagining the possibilities is exciting. Sure, some of the Wii games will not be great, but the great ones.... wow.
Time will tell.
My hope is that this brings back the NES/SNES era of gameplay OVER graphics. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Damn! Whenever I try to save money, some awesome company like Nintendo makes me spend it. Oh well, it beats having to spend some ridiculous amount for something like the PS3 (which from what I hear sounds like much less fun anyways).
- snookums, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Wii Sports
Red Steel
Madden NFL 2007
Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors
Elebits
Blitz: The League
Wow, that's eight launch titles that I want. I don't remember any other system where I could say that. And even if there weren't a lot of good launch titles I still could play all of my gamecube games on this thing plus the back catalog. That makes the Wii immediately usable, a problem that a lot of systems have in the first few months. - reclusivemonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8We don't stop being children because we grow old, we grow old because we stop being children.
- nymphetamine, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9it doesnt matter if theyr gonna be on other systems. why? because the whole point is to play them with the wiimote!
- Dgen_X, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7yeah but they could have at least hosted the images themselves...or linked to the actual article and not just to IGN.com
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10It's coming out for gamecube and wii at the same time.
- Lavaknight, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Aww c'mon, can't you relate to jumping on goomba's and koopa's heads?
I know I can. - jacobmp92, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8SSBB wont be released until 2007... :-(
- jacobmp92, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I doubt the controllers will be $50 ;). If they were, Nintendo would have trouble selling them. I'm guessing $30 or whatever the price of a Wavebird was.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7and mario. only thing better would be SSB at launch, so sad that it's not.
- MrVisible, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I was really hoping to sit out this round of the console wars. I would have been content picking up old PS2 and Gamecube games from the used game section, waiting until prices dropped down into a semi-reasonable bracket until I indulged in a console upgrade.
This console looks so good I literally can't wait. I just gotta Wii. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Not a big madden fan, but I cant wait to see how its gonna play on the wii. Never thought about how much Sports games are gonna rock on this thing
- sabbac, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8I'll repeat my above comment, ass-clown:
I'm an adult (33) and it's the only new console I'll get or want to get. - opae, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Wiinintendo.net is not claiming to be the original author that article.
If you look other articles on that site. you will see alot of them linking to the original article. All they do is make it easier for you to find Wii related articles and instead of having to search for them. - djblast, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6wii, you shall be pre-ordered
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+12It's not the stories, it's the quantity.
43 pages of wii - http://www.digg.com/search?search=wii&submit=Submit
46 pages of macbook - http://www.digg.com/search?search=macbook&submit=Submit
127 pages of ps3 - http://www.digg.com/search?search=ps3&submit=Submit
There's probably only a dozen *original* articles in the whole 216 pages (~3000 submissions). - Dragular, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Heh, even funnier that they didn't bother changing the image files to something hosted on their own servers.
- Eaglefire, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Granted, but the time machine will only transport you to a parallel universe where video games are universally considered to be of the devil, and when you ask for a Wii at the store they burn you at the stake.
