- NathanielJ, on 11/14/2008, -22/+365"Imagine not having to suffer downtimes, silly licensing agreements, or daft console-restricting DRM."
Silly DRM? Oh, you mean like Spore? Yeah, way to go, PC games, way to dodge that bullet. - StupotAce, on 11/14/2008, -63/+307I prefer to game on my 360.
One of those reasons is because I use my PC for many things, and sometimes those uses coincide with when I could also be playing a game. I can leave my PC doing it's thing while I play on my 360. Buying another PC that is gaming worthy would be much more expensive and take up more room than playing on a console.
Also, it's easier to turn on a console and play a game then it is to boot up a computer, install the game (if it's not installed yet) locate it, turn off AIM etc before I can start playing.
And I am going to call stalemate as far as hardware upgrades go. Yes, PCs have the ability to upgrade and make things look better than my 360 can. That said, when I hear of a game coming out for the 360 I KNOW that my 360 can play it. When a new shiny game comes out for PC, I have to check to see if my PC meets those requirements, and if it doesn't, I have to debate on whether I want to spend an ungodly amount of money on a super awesome video card that will soon be out of date and I'll only be able to resell it for less than half of it's value when it comes time for me to upgrade again.
Long story short, while PCs always have the potential to be a more capable gaming system than any console, they require much more hassle than any console.
(As a side note, it is also possible for a PC to get a red ring of death, although why someone would have such an ability on their PC is beyond me.) - jedthehumanoid, on 11/14/2008, -27/+259I have a 360 as well as a PS3 and a gaming PC - and I use them all pretty much equally. They all offer something different and that's why i'd never get rid of any of them. However, if I had to choose one of the three it would have to be the PC...
- BooLag, on 04/23/2009, -7/+19913. PIRACY
Who are we kidding, people pirate games on all systems, but it's by far easier to download a crack on PC than to mod an XBOX. - DeadSkinMask, on 11/15/2008, -2/+120I like PC for FPS & RTS.
However, I'd rather play Sports games on a Console.
To each his own.
There is nothing wrong with liking both... - sanderton, on 11/14/2008, -11/+88My Amiga is better than your ST.
- kinseyincanada, on 11/15/2008, -82/+157or for ***** sake, im so sick of these elitist PC fanboys. Just play whatever you want, but dont think you are better than anyone. The reason why i dont play PC games, is the fact that no matter what i know that the next big game will play on my system, at the highest settings, i dont have to worry about DRM, and i can play with a friend in the same room.
- OverZealousHobo, on 11/15/2008, -4/+78funny, because i play and enjoy both my xbox and pc for different reasons...why compare apples to oranges when you like fruit in general....
- paksman, on 11/15/2008, -3/+71I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to GEICO!
- KingPsyz, on 11/15/2008, -8/+72that sounds an awful lot like an argument AGAINST PC Gaming...
- Abomonog, on 11/15/2008, -15/+75How can you know the game will play at their highest settings when there are no graphic options for your console games? They play at whatever setting the makers decide and the GTA series has proven beyond any doubt that it is not the highest setting the engines are capable of.
- machocheese34, on 11/14/2008, -29/+87While i do like aiming with a mouse, i find moving to be better with an analog stick
- Sokkratez, on 11/15/2008, -2/+58PCs support gamepads.
- reKONG, on 11/15/2008, -0/+54at the end of the day its the software that makes the hardware.
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -19/+69I went from a console player (NES, SNES, N64), went to PC gaming for a few years, and now I'm back with my 360
Even with online cheat busters for PC games, it's still seems easier to cheat and pirate games than it is on a console (not that' I'm against pirating in any way) - miquonranger031, on 11/15/2008, -9/+57That's odd, I play consoles and I've never had to type in a serial number or stop playing for authorization or something. Plus I can legally play a game on any 360, not just the one I first stuck the disc into.

What's stopping you from hooking up your 52" TV to your PC? - inactive, on 11/15/2008, -5/+45As opposed to spending your time on digg being a troll?
Please pardon me while I go play Fallout 3 on PC, and Force Unleashed on PS3 this morning as you continue to troll. - RoadDoggFL, on 11/14/2008, -14/+54WoW makes #7 amusing to me.

- MrApocalypse, on 11/15/2008, -0/+36No, I have a keyboard deformity. Should've said Belgium, because apperantly there are very few countries that use the AZERTY lay-out instead of the usual QWERTY...
- naffets, on 11/15/2008, -0/+35You don't "spend time" being a geek, it's a way of life....
...wow, never thought i'd have the opportunity to say that.... - cl2yp71c, on 11/15/2008, -0/+34Do you, by any chance have an arm deformity?
- Spymodhf, on 11/15/2008, -7/+41Ah, I guess you wholly represent everyone on earth?
He's being dugg down because it's not true. - Abomonog, on 11/15/2008, -30/+63We PC players can either download a copy of Spore with no DRM or just buy a different game with no DRM. With consoles virtually EVERY game comes with enforced DRM.
Bullet dodged. - peterb518, on 11/15/2008, -6/+38The "Most flawed logic ever" award goes to you.
"I want to play Spore but I don't want DRM...I'll just buy a different game with no DRM"
you win. - opticwind, on 11/15/2008, -4/+34Everytime someone talks about the superiority of PCs, there are so many pre-determined responses.
Automatic Replies:
1. PCs are good for shooters and consoles are good for platformers.
2. PCs have better graphics but cost more to maintain and aren't always going to meet specs.
3. PCs have DRM but tend to be easier to pirate.
Can anyone throw in an original discussion on this topic? - inactive, on 11/15/2008, -18/+47Team Fortress 2 is the only reason needed.
Best. Game. EVER! - NanoStuff, on 11/15/2008, -13/+42This is the stupidest thing I've ever read relating to PC vs. console gaming. You don't need a recent PC to play modern PC games, you can play them with older hardware at reduced visual quality, and it will still look better. Current gen PC hardware has far surpassed what you find inside a console. Console graphics accelerators are Geforce-6 level devices. Plus you're happily avoiding the point that people already have computers, or are you writing this on your Xbox360? In many cases only a further $100-200 needs to be spent for a good gaming machine. Don't forget cheaper games due to no licensing costs, but let's happily avoid this point too.
- omnithought, on 11/15/2008, -2/+30It depends on the game.
Shooters are more accurate with keyboard and mouse.
Anything that's likely to have user-created mods is a win for the PC.
But, games like Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, etc. seem more suited to the 360.
I prefer PC gaming overall, but I don't hate the consoles. Plus, I like being able to upgrade my PC as needed rather than having to buy a whole new one if I want something better. - NathanielJ, on 11/14/2008, -4/+30Good logic. Fight fanboyism with fanboyism.
- miker71, on 11/15/2008, -2/+27My C64 is better than you ZX Spectrum
- Cerzi, on 11/15/2008, -3/+28It's not really, though, is it. You get a few extra keys to the left which you very rarely actually need to use (q, e, z, x, c, v, f, r, t, g are plenty for most games), at the expense of having to stretch your pinky much further to reach the all-important shift/control keys, having to rebind all your keys every time you play a new game, and generally just wasting your time.
- gritta, on 11/15/2008, -2/+26I have a 61" TV.
- Dafon, on 11/15/2008, -0/+24Does anyone else still use the arrow keys or am i the only one who always stuck with them since wolfenstein and doom?
- Kajarago, on 11/15/2008, -0/+24No! You have to like only one!
- XtheXlanternX, on 11/15/2008, -3/+26I enjoy offline games on consoles, but if it is going to be online, I'd rather play in on PC. I also prefer the mouse/keyboard combo over a xbox/PS3/Wii controller for about 29 games out of every 30 I play.
- wonkavsn, on 11/15/2008, -0/+23Spy's sappin' my sentry!
- Naughtyme, on 11/15/2008, -0/+22Yeah but TF2 is ***** on the consoles. PC has all the updates.
- BattleScars, on 11/15/2008, -2/+24Good argument
- BattleScars, on 11/15/2008, -2/+23WoW is like a second job, except you pay them, you always work overtime and you can't put it on your CV (resumé).
- DeadSkinMask, on 11/15/2008, -0/+21A reply containing that many words will confuse a large majority of digg users...
- Licurgo, on 11/15/2008, -1/+22im lucky to live on mexico, there is like 10 business downtown where they mod your xbox for 20 american dollars, the games are burned and ready to play for 2 american dollars each.
i know how to do it myself also, but is easier just go and pay - Bumbaclot, on 11/15/2008, -0/+21How to upgrade hardware on your Home Computer:
PC: Go on a tech site and buy anything that adjusts to your system specifications
Mac: Well.... goto apple.com and buy another computer... soz - musntSurfatWork, on 11/15/2008, -1/+21don't count your dad's oak wood frame surrounding the 24" tube.
- ExRe, on 11/15/2008, -8/+28Ya, but DRM on console titles can't damage your hardware nor screw your OS install.
