- PDAIsAOk, on 12/19/2007, -3/+54MTV does everything else wrong, why should they be expected to get this right?
- Easyoffbam, on 12/19/2007, -4/+31Thats the problem with Top 10 lists, theres always a bunch of tossers saying "Oh this should have been on the list" or "Why is that on the list" and so on and so on. It's just their opinion, and if you don't like it, get over it.
- chicoer2001, on 12/19/2007, -1/+27I liked the moment when the WOW player found out his online girlfriend was a guy.
- cnot3, on 12/19/2007, -2/+23They forgot "spending hundreds of dollars on your computer to be able to run Crysis on medium."
- chris9902, on 12/19/2007, -6/+22Bioshock, COD4, Portal, Crackdown and a million other games wasn't good enough for you? no, you probably bought one of those $600 paper weights at the start of the year and after watching Casino Royale on Blu-Ray for the 97th time you wished you'd bought a 360. now you're all bitter.
- TriZz, on 12/19/2007, -0/+14Ummmmm, MTV is not allowed to tell me what's "great" anymore. They've lost all "great" cred it my world.
- Jon211, on 12/19/2007, -1/+10The end of HL2 Ep 2 is definitely up there for me.
- DukeMojo, on 12/19/2007, -4/+12Dugg because I'm tired of seeing the same 10 games/movies every list.
- carl25, on 12/19/2007, -0/+8regardless on how good or bad the games were, this is about the greatest moments
- DukeMojo, on 12/19/2007, -3/+10You mean forgettable for anyone dumb enough to buy a PS3 despite all the warning given to not do so until it gains better software choices. I have a 360 and Wii and I haven't felt this happy about how far gaming has gone since the N64 came out.
- EllimistX, on 12/19/2007, -3/+9Hearing Mario 3 music for the first time in over 15 years in Mario Galaxy...it made me realize how long I've been gaming...
- chingy1788, on 12/19/2007, -1/+6exactly, cept i played through half of HL2, then HSC exams hit and i left it till now when i bought the Orange box
some people go to school and uni, and aren't rich - bahamutxd, on 12/19/2007, -0/+5Aren't all top 10 lists subjective?
- passedoutghost, on 12/19/2007, -3/+8But then there are universally accepted great gaming moments and this list covers only very little of them
- teknikk7, on 12/19/2007, -0/+5They should stick to reality shows, MTV knows nothing about video games.
- adml_shake, on 12/19/2007, -1/+5I was going to read it, then I saw where the link took me and changed my mind.
- Ryudo2k9, on 12/19/2007, -2/+6dugg for mentioning Phoenix Wright.
- mickcn, on 12/19/2007, -0/+4Greatest gaming moment for me in 2007
I started playing world of warcraft again, only to realize that I was paying $15 per month to play a game that never ends, and would consume my life. - UtopiaInTheSky, on 12/19/2007, -1/+5Wow, that's quite possibly the best PS3 burn I've ever seen on Digg.
- simoose, on 12/19/2007, -0/+4they forgot the intro scene of call of duty 4, where your are Al-Fulani getting executed. That was mind blowing
- navster15, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3Granted MTV does suck, but this article was done by Stephen Totillo. For those who don't know, Totillo is one of the best video game journalists out there. He recently took part in Slate Magazine's 2007 game discussion which turned out to be one of the most illuminating gaming articles I have read all year. Also, the Vs. Mode discussions he does with N'Gai Croal on the Level Up blog give far more insight to the games being discussed than any standard review.
- 3tcp, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3That depends, do you take dating, fashion and music advice from them too?
If the answer is yes then your standards are pretty low so mtv would be a great place to find gaming advice. - Evocati, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3People are buying them more now. Spoiled kids/gamers who already have a Wii and 360 will probably get a PS3 this christmas. In line for the good games that will be released for it next year. I'll admit I want one myself.
- codmate, on 12/19/2007, -1/+4"Would you kindly" pick a different moment from Bioshock to praise?
- inactive, on 12/19/2007, -1/+4Those who haven't been lobotomized.
- martelo, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3They also forgot the AC-130 level in CoD4. Maybe not as cinematic as the one they picked, but every bit as jaw-dropping.
- tattertech, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3The characters didn't even react very differently to you. They went from wanting to kill you to.... still wanting to kill you?
- linuxrocks2007, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2They don't really know anything about reality shows either...
- inactive, on 12/19/2007, -2/+4That, or his 360 was in the repair shop for 6 months out of the year.
- Dreamscar, on 12/19/2007, -3/+5I wish shooting yourself in the head from Persona 3 made it, I NEVER tire of doing that
- bahamutxd, on 12/19/2007, -1/+3.. which is why it's still selling? A complete FLOP would be what the Virtualboy was. There are people who want PS3s, so it hasn't proven to be a flop yet.
- UwasaWaya, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2I got chills, it was a really, really unsettling scene. But i think the nuke takes the cake. I was speechless during that.
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 12/19/2007, -2/+4I'm debating with myself right now. Should I ever take gaming advice from MTV ?
- Grimdotdotdot, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2That was one of the worst parts of the whole game.
It suddenly turned from interesting into 'go here and fetch this'.
Rubbish. - pooper, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2how about that sniper mission in CoD4, where you have to factor in the coriolis effect and the wind... damn that game was the most intense ever
- CapitalIdea, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2Shenmue wasn't released this year it does say in 2007.
- h4mx0r, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2Yeah, that moment wasn't very special. Just felt like a temporary gameplay element.
- Tippis, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2...or just about *any* level of unreal. Walking outside for the first time and realising how immense the environments were. Meeting your first Titan. The first time a Skaarj dive-dodges away from your rockets. Fighting semi-transparent, self-illuminating Skaarj onboard the now-dark ship after you blew out its reactor. Trying desperately to kill the multi-part acid blob in the science lab. etc etc etc
- S!L3N7, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2No mention of the CGS? MTV Stick to music, thanks.
- bahamutxd, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1They haven't stuck to music for at least a decade, if not longer.
- requinox, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1What's so innovative about the Slow-Mo Arrow in Heavenly Sword? Many games have had player-controlled rockets.
- BearinG, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1moment != game
- RyanElston, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1Lists like this happen when you play video games stoned.
*puff*
Whoooooooooooooooooohhhh - MattnJax, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1In COD4 when the nuke went off was amazing. The screen is blood red, your shell shocked, and left to stumble around. At first I thought "theirs no way they're going to kill this soldier", but then you realize that the whole basis is to try and show death in a true first person perspective.
- SleepingOrange, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1I want a 10 greatest top ten lists of Digg 2007.
wait, no that's a lie. - amenic, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1I'll be sure to check back in a year.
- iamaelephant, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1No Duke, no digg.
- splinecl, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1Yeah, literally.
- Asianwaste, on 12/19/2007, -1/+2Wow, Phoenix Wright made the list. I'm impressed with MTV.
- Ultrace, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1Agreed with some of the items here but it blows my mind that the euphoric rush that first time you blast through a four-player song on Rock Band isn't mentioned... It's certainly one of the greatest gaming moments ever, much less of 2007. And you would think MTV would know about it, since they own Harmonix, who developed the game...
