I have been waiting for a good smartphone to come to Verizon's dismal lineup of phones. Luckily, it seems that the moment has arrived where I can finally have a phone I like on Verizon's network.
I'm a bit surprised by the response of people to Verizon's network. I don't really have a problem with their network. I get great coverage, but their prices leave something to be desired (and I get a 20% discount). Their data and text messaging rates seem to be above industry standard. They have started to improve a bit, but I'm pretty sure they still want to charge me something like $2.99 a ringtone. Which is ridiculous when I could buy the full song for much less. Not to mention the fact that pretty much every other carrier allows you to make your own in one shape or another.
I've been on Verizon now for over 6 years, and I am not with them out of loyalty. I was planning on switching to a new network at the end of my contract, so I could get a decent smartphone. Verizon has kept me as their customer by finally waking up to the demands of its customers.
