Stanford team developing platform for personal robotics

soe.stanford.edu — The robotics development community has leaned toward fragmentation, and the result has been hindered progress. Kenneth Salisbury, a professor of Computer Science and of Surgery, thinks it ’s about time for an open platform like the personal computer. The prototype robot is designed to work alongside people smartly and safely.
